1. I never thought I would live to see this: http://www.wbir.com/money/walmart-to-close-269-stores/15246789 Walmart to close 269 stores worldwide Hadley Malcolm 12:26 PM. EST January 15, 2016 Walmart said Friday that it will close 269 sotres globally, including shutting down its fleet of 102 'Express' format stores in the U.S. (Photo: Custom) CONNECT TWEET LINKEDIN Walmart will close 269 stores around the world in a strategic move to focus more on its supercenters and e-commerce business, the company said Friday. The closures include 154 U.S. locations, encompassing Walmart's entire fleet of 102 'Express' format stores, its smallest stores that have been in pilot testing since 2011. Some supercenters, Sam's Club locations and Neighborhood Markets will also close, plus 115 stores in Latin American markets. The closures were decided based on financial performance and how well the locations fit with Walmart's broader strategy, says Greg Hitt, a company spokesman. Walmart has been working aggressively to grow its e-commerce presence and digital services, plus upgrade stores and provide shoppers with a more pleasant experience. In that vein, the company has also been making a big push to increase wages and provide more training to employees, an effort that's costing more than $1 billion. The store closures, which represent less than 1% of global revenue from Walmart's nearly 11,600 stores worldwide, will allow the retailer to step up its digital and in-store initiatives, Hitt says. In a statement, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said the company is "committed to growing, but we are being disciplined about it." Walmart plans to open more than 300 stores in the coming fiscal year. In addition to its supercenters and e-commerce initiatives, Walmart also plans to invest more in its Neighborhood Market format, smaller stores that are around 30,000 square feet, and expanding in-store pick-up services for online orders. Around 16,000 store associates are affected by the store closures, with about 10,000 in the U.S. Some will have the opportunity to relocate to other Walmart stores. The rest will receive 60 days pay plus severance if eligible, the company said. The news comes as other retailers have announced store closures recently in order to stay competitive in a changing retail landscape. Finish Line said last week that it would close 150 stores after reporting a third quarter loss. Macy's also said last week that it plans to close 36 stores and eliminate more than 4,500 positions in a bid to become a more nimble business. This story originally appeared on USATODAY.com.

4. Welcome!  I too went through gun burnout for a period of time after I sold my gun business 20 years ago, but then the rubber band of burnout stretched too far and rebounded with a vengeance.    Thanks for your service.    Jump in and tell us some of your behind the counter stories from back then.
5. You know I would buy 2, 3, or more.  I may write my congressman this weekend.
6. Simply not smart.  I didn't have to stay at a Holiday Inn Express either to form this idea.
7. The Narrative isn't so narrative after all.  There are some smart people that can see through the liberal democrat BS, and really care about you and me.
8. I did like their old logo, don't like this one. Though the 110 FCP is on my radar, will this change impact me, probably not, but I don't like the caving to be PC.

23. Very good statement from Steve Urvan, CEO and Founder of GunBroker.com:   http://www.gunbroker.com/User/Announce.aspx#1/8/2016     A statement from Steve Urvan, CEO and Founder of GunBroker.com As many of you are aware, the President made a big production of “taking action” on gun control this week. What is not as obvious, and has been missed by much of the mainstream media, is that the President’s actions are smoke and mirrors with no legally binding changes. After reviewing the White House statement, I found that no Executive Orders were issued. Keep in mind that the President cannot create domestic laws; that privilege is constitutionally delegated to Congress. The President can issue Executive Orders which are legally binding instructions to federal offices and employees, but Executive Orders still cannot change underlying laws. The President’s actions took the form of guidance documents which have no legally binding effect and are merely the Administration’s opinion of what the laws state. USA Today was one of the few publications I have seen that got the story right in its article Chastened by immigration, Obama shows restraint on guns. The President’s guidance documents are largely just a restatement of existing laws and a wish list of actions that would need to be passed by Congress (and likely will not be). The definition of who is “enaged in the business” of firearms has not changed and is firmly established by both law and case law. Unlicensed persons are still allowed to sell firearms from their personal collection provided all Federal, state, and local laws are obeyed. The firearm industry has long said that we do not need more guns laws; we need better enforcement of laws already on the books. Data from the Justice Department shows a sharp decline in Federal Weapons Convictions under the Obama Administration. As we clearly state on our website, all transactions on GunBroker.com are made in full compliance with all federal state, and local laws, using licensed federal firearms dealers as transfer agents. Federal law requires those dealers to run a background check on the buyer. There is a strict compliance system in place and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms audits dealers for compliance. The National Shooting Sports Foundation, of which GunBroker.com is a member and supporter, has issued a statement that summarizes the firearm industry’s views. Sincerely, Steve Urvan CEO, GunBroker.com
24. I shoot sporting clays a lot using a Browning O/U 525. A few years ago, my buddy and I often said towards the end of the round, boy if I could shoot the course again, I would score a whole lot better. So one Saturday we did. We shot 100 rounds of the morning, ate lunch, and shot another 100 rounds that afternoon. That evening and next day, I have never had my shoulder hurt as bad, and the bruise was incredible. From that point on, in my sporting clays jacket I have the Browning recoil pad. It truly made a difference, but btw too wimpy to have a second round of sporting clays on the same day ever again. 25. I last went to the Louisville show in the early to mid 90s.  That show has been the largest I have ever been too.  I think it had 1,200 tables.  Not sure how big the show is now.  To tell you how large that show was, not sure of your routine, but with the Knoxville shows I usually walk around once without buying or getting serious.   Then on the 2nd lap is when I start my attempts, fondling, etc.  The Louisville show, I arrived at 9am and it was like 4pm before I could start lap #2.  It was huge.  Would like to go to the one in Atlanta and some of those out west.
