OS yes I got your premise of the poll, but even with TGO members opinions, it still slanted to the right. Personally, I do not believe it will be close this time. The media wants us to think its close. I think Romney will win big, maybe no landslide, but big! The mojo is not there this time for O. No greek columns and no European tour either.

Firearms confiscation. How would it go down?
runco replied to timcar86's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I would imagine it would be like the drug roundup, the hazardous chemical roundup, etc. As to who? Local leo or Fed, they have a sworn duty, if they personal object to the law, they need to resign their post or face termination. This is all hypothetical. -

It would start by sheep turning the guns/ammo in first. Then simply if you are caught with a gun/ammo, or word gets out that you might have guns/ammo, then simple government flexing of its muscle will occur. Knock at the door, take down, arrest, and no more guns/ammo. $10,000 fine per gun later, and 2 years in prison per gun later, you will will return to what you have left. After a few occuraces like this, the non-sheep, but intellectuals left will make risk/award type decisions, then there you have your answer. -
I have shown this pic. before, but this is our 2 year old son gently handling our kitten last year. Don't you just love the kitten's face and what it could be thinking?

Here is my two cents: In this race, like I do most at the national level, I am voting for the party, and not the man. I will never vote democrat, no not ever!!! That goes for State and local politics too! I may not agree with Mitt's religeon, but other than refraining to vote, I am voting republican like I do 99% of the time! O has to go! Regarding the poll itself, I doubt a poll on a gun message board is a accurate cross section of our republic, especially a gun message board targeted to a historical republican state of Tennessee. Even a gun message board in California or Massachusetts would vote Romney. My final point, I assume TGO has some of the 47%, but I assume its lots less than the national 47%, so the poll does not have this full drag on the numbers. So if OShoot would have started the poll off with 47% in favor of O, then this might come close! LOL! Get some R&R, vote Romney Ryan! (Hey I just thought that up, maybe I hit on something).

I recall reading an article in Guns & Ammo back in the early 90s on this subject, and for some reason I recall it suggested for long term storage to have -2 rounds from the maximum. I have always practiced that. I figure for home defence, -2 rounds in my Sig P226 or my Glock 17 will not matter. If I can not defend my home with those missing 2 rounds, I probably should just yield and surrender! So after reading these other posts, I am cloudy now, but will probably keeping practicing my long practice just in case.

My came in today, excellent magazines, 90%+, no damage. Only one was stamped with Sig though (don't care): http://

Ohshoot, can you point it out better for me, I took a couple of more pictures. Also this guy's link talks about the safety feature I thought you may have been describing, it may not be related: http://forum.pafoa.o...odel-929-a.html (just noticed during the preview post, the digital camera shows greater detail than what the naked eye sees, the appearance of rust or dirt is seriously not seen with the naked eye, but on the monitor/this post it looks horrible, I guess I need to clean better)

The pain of a miscarriage is the same as the loss of family member, maybe more. My wife and I had experienced a miscarriage just after we got married, then we were blessed with four beutiful children. I still can't wait to see my first child someday that was lost in the miscarriage. And I know the loss of a parent. Prayers of comfort go out and may God's will be done in your lives!

My first handgun I ever shot was my grandparents 929 pistol. I was probably around 8 years old, and how I remember what a powerhouse that awesome pistol was and just how heavy that beast of a gun was. Today, I am now in possession of the gun, still quite heavy, but not quite the powerhouse or beast I remember. About 11 years ago, we had to remove all firearms from my grandmother's house, after she shot at the gas meter man, she had dementia, no law involvement, just a complaint and an escape. Anyway, I now have it. Mine doesn't have the safety feature that Ohshoot describes, so I believe mine may be late 1950s or 1960s vintage after doing some research this morning. The prefix serial number is AF, and has more of round oval shape butt. The gun is probably like 97% with no scratch on the metal or the plastic grips, however this piece will be one of several family heirlooms. Great plinker, shoot em up aluminum cans, etc. kind of gun. My boys (8, 7, 3, and soon to be newbie) will probably shoot this gun first as opposed to my Sigs and Glocks. Grandparents didn't have any Sigs and Glocks, they only had three guns, 12 ga. single shot, 22 rifle and this handgun. Simple collection. I shot 2 of the 3, the 12 ga. was just a sit you on your can kind of gun, and little boys shouldn't shoot such large guns grandma use to say. I was able to get the 22 rifle and pistol, but my uncle got the 12 ga. It was an old H&R too.

My small children really enjoyed the World of Coca Cola. Make sure you try the famous Brazialian root drink, really quenches the thirst. They do make you go through metal detectors. I had to hide my precious case peanut knife once outside in the bushes in the mulch. Like to have never found it afterwards. Anyway, small 10 min. movie for the kids, then some pictures with the stuffed large polar bear. Then make sure you go to the drink fountain room and you can drink all you can hold of all coca cola products both in the U.S. and around the world. Then I think they give you a souviner bottle of coke. It really is cool. We are going back in about two weeks. Sign up on their web site, and they will send you a coupon for 4 tickets for $40, and my wife keeps and registers all of the coke codes on caps, I think we have a couple of free tickes waiting on us too. Enjoy.

I was being sarcastic!!! In all seriousiness, I wander if these just cleaning my gun stories is more of an attempt to hide suicide. I have read that most attempted or successful suicides are not reported in the media on purpose, but this is a way to get the word out about a suicide attempt without calling it a suicide attempt.

I don't think they designed air bags to work that way, but wow he was sure lucky.
