Considering the circumstances, I believe many soft pro gun supporters could and would support a EO. It would be sold this is only temporary until legislators weighed in. Even a 6 mo. EO could be tolerated, considering the current pulse of the nation. Even if one more mass killings happen, imagine the avalanche that would pursue. Also, I could imagine someone tieing this AWB to the pending financial cliff. The pres. and Dems give in to what republicans want in the finanical cliff, while the republicans will give the pres. and dems. what they want in new AWB and new laws that prohibit private gun sales, eveyone then is happy, happy, happy.

Could an executive order be forth coming or imminent, maybe already signed, just waiting for the right time to announce that bans assault weapons, high capacity mags, etc.? Could the nation ripe with grief now tolerate it? Given the state of people right now, and the recent election that bascially rubber stamps his policies, could this really happen? Should we go out and buy all the ARs we can finance? Seriously, could this happen in the next 24, 48, 72 hours?

Confession, in and around 1980 my mother took me and a buddy to Gatlinburg, and dropped us off for the day, I think we were 12 years old. My buddy and I had a blast, but eventually got bored. We rode to the top of the Space Needle, and after a few moments of gazzing, we decided to drop pennies off the observation deck. Never knew if anyone got hit, or if those pennies done any damage. Doing some research moments ago, the space needle stands at 407 feet tall. If I remember my physics correctly, and with the help of a few web sites, assuming a penny weighs 2.5 grams or 0.07 ounces, the impact of the penny being dropped from 407 feet, at ground level is equivalent to 2.5 lbs per sq. in on impact, and was traveling at approximately153 ft. per second, or 104 mph. Wow, we needed that creepy old man to scare us, we could have killed someone.

This show makes me happy, happy, happy. Is it me, or is this one of the best tv shows on tv now adays. I just discovered this show a few months ago on A&E, and all I can say is everyone is happy, happy, happy. That is some of the best commedy I have seen in awhile that I can relate to. Its great for the family too, no cursing, full of laughs, helpful quotes, and always ends with a dinner prayer. I use to only watch NCIS each week, but now I have to watch equally NCIS and Duck Dynasty. Got to love Si, especially the Christmas episode the other night and his comments as an elf to the kids. That was way too funny. I think I may grow me one of those bushy beards, hope my employer does not mind. Do you watch? http://

We wanted to get away froma land line years ago, but because where we live, the only way to have high speed internet at a reasonable price was through one provider, a phone company. We were able to drop all of the features for the home land line, we no longer have caller id, call block, mo maintenance, no rental, etcs. and turned off the capability to call long distance. I think our basic charge is ~$18 mo, however with our high speed internet, and that we have bumped it up 2X since we got 7+ years ago to very high speeds, I think we pay close to $35 + the land line. Love to drop the land line, but we can't. We use our cell phones 99% of the time, and our land line rarely rings, maybe a few times a week. Since we do have small children, and they could call 911 in an emergency, it is comforting to know that we have land line phone in a permanent place, becuase the cell phones can be anywhere at anytime.

Now that was funny! I can relate!

I took my family to Maui this past summer for a family vacation, it was our 10 year aniversary. We brought along our 3 sons, an 8 year old, 7 year old and a 3 year old. Just for the purpose of Pearl Harbor, we spent an extra $1K to stay an extra day just to fly over to Oahu so we could share the the memorial experience with the boys. That was our 2nd time seeing it, and a first for the kids. It is such a so surreal place, and very somber place. My boys were perfect gentlemen, very quiet, and they fully understood what had happened and what that place means. The smell and sight of the diesel still seeping up is unblievable. I honor all of the men who died in the pearl harbor attack, and for ones that are still entomed there. Here is a pic on the bridge of the memorial looking up at the ceiling: http://

I myself find Walmart to be the poster child of what a free economy is supposed to be. They use every tool in the tool bag to be a successful business. If Walmart employees do not like wages, benefits, or hours, then quit, do not complain. If manufacturing industry can use public money, then any industry should even if its retail. If citizens do not like the risk reward approach to tax breaks, then vote politicians out, or change the laws, do not blame the business leaders that seek out opportunities and who succeed. I do not believe Walmart has any authority to grab land, but government does, and again if people do not like the way government can grab land, for the betterment of the citizens, then change the laws. As for my family, our monthly food budget runs around $1,500 a month or $18K/yr. I know for certain walmart gets that and a whole lot more from this family. I cannot say I am happy to give anyone $18K a year, but I strive to be a good steward of my family money, and I have no issue whatsoever using Walmart as my preferred retailer, and usually only retailer. I honestly do get upset if the wifee goes anywhere but Walmart for our routine household items. Where else can you go for tires, oil changes, guns, ammo, video games, DVDs, groceries, haircuts, prescriptions, flu shots, and seasonal items, all under one roof, and has the best price around. That is an outstanding business model. One happy walmart customer here
Not handguns (Yet of course) but you do know you can go into a Walmart and Special Order a lot of different guns that they dont carry with a 50% down payment. They have an online Special Order Catalog for firearms. Pick out what you want, go in and order it, pay the 50% and thats it. Here is the catalog, its 123 pages long. Rifles, Shotguns and Muzzle Loader. http://i.walmartimag...rGunCatalog.pdf
This is a 2010 catalog, has anyone seen a later version on line?

No, but I do have two guns that I have acquired in the past few months that I plan on doing over the holiday break. I have a Colt 1903 and a Ruger Mark I, both are in excellent shape, but no bluing whatsoever. I think I am going nickel on the 1903, and flat black on the Ruger.

I used only 120 alum oxide, however I had to do some repeats for some dumb mistakes on my side. Someone suggested using a softer media either walnut or some type of plastic/glass. I found ebay to be the best on pricing for all medias including aluminum oxide. You can adjust the air pressure to tone down the media impact if you are using aluminum oxide. BTW don't worry about the cabinet, do it the red neck way, either use a 5 gallon bucket or used a large cardboard box. The goal is to capture for reuse of media, unless you have money to burn or just don't want to clean up. Do wear the safety stuff, face shield, filter mask, gloves, etc. It was a blast. If you want a laugh or have insomia, read my post from my 1st gun coating experience earlier this year: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/47369-my-gunkote-tale-a-tale-of-priceless-wisdom-kids-in-the-garage/

Well I am slightly North of 300 and stand 6'. I swear by the Crossbreed supertuck. I wear my at the 5 o'clock position for righty or 7 o'clock for lefty. I carry Sigs P6 and P228, without any trouble or discomfort. I should note though I do not carry rear wallet, which could be a probem I suppose. You do have to move up in pants size if wear your pants tight. If you try some of the knockoffs, the leather is a lot more stiffer.
i would venture to say that some of these items are NOT actual airport confiscation items...but rather eBay sellers trying to cash in on an opportunity to make a quick buck....just my opinion though?
I have to agree. I increased the size of the ebay pictures, those knives look mostly new. My personal knives are used, and show use. Those look to new to be everyday carried knives.
I still think the TSA should sell those Post Office "If it fits, it ships" boxes to passengers and let them mail it back home. Now, they collect the items and take them to the dumpster, with my idea they collect the boxes and take them to the airport mail drop. It would go a long way to fostering good feelings with the TSA.
Job related I fly often some times. I believe there are a few airports that actually do this. I think the airport at Canton-Akron, OH, has a small station right before the TSA agent looks at your ID.
Well there may be SOME similarities between San Francisco and deliverance-land. "You sure got a purty mouth" might be intended to be taken as a compliment both places!
The only difference, I don't think people wear over-alls in San Fran. I don't they wear anything do they.

The litmus test is when you can watch Beverly Hillbilly’s as a drama TV show, and not as a comedy. Seriously, lose the foreign accent and choice of vocabulary, watch the hair do, and dress like the true locals. Don't change anything with: Local laws, local way of doing things, how we raise our kids, our schools and never criticize how people just live. Going to church, voting republican and listening to country music will help. Then maybe you might fit in some day. One more thing, if you want to fast track your status, watch the unrated Deliverence over and over and over! Just kidding. Good luck, and good choice in selecting where to live. Middle Tennessee is not that much different than East Tennessee with its people. Now West Tennessee is different story.

For many years, I rode a motorcycle. The defensive driving that is learned driving a motorcycle anticpating what someone might do, can do, etc. carries over to driving a vehicle. I can never control the other guy, but I sure can anticipate what they might do, can do, and try to position myself in such a manner to avoid the situation. Main thing is to stay cool, and never pull a gun on someone and shoot at them just to get them to move over, espeiclaly if they are woman, and her husband is a LEO in a car behind her. Where did I hear that story from???

When I was a kid, my dad made me use a 22LR bolt action rifle with open sights. He said anyone can get a squirrel with a shotgun, but it takes skill to shoot one with open sights with a 22LR. If the squirrel does not move, you have to, and you have to be so quiet and discreet so that the squirrel does not take off. My Remington 581 bolt action did log alot of kills. Looking back, I think there was alot of truth in his simple hunting teachings. 35 years later, I am no sniper rifle guy, but shooting 22LR @ 100 yards I am quiet decent, and still snag a squirrel everynow and then. You know the Savage over/under 22LR and 410 on the bottom is problaby the best squirrel gun made. If I had one back then, my dad would have probably plugged my 410 barrel! Lol! Shhhh, don't say anything my dad who is still alive, I do have Savage O/U today! My 2 cents.
