  1. So size does matter?
  2. Merry Christmas, and welcome
  3. Its 12:45am, living the tradition wrapping presents, actually she is, I am on TGO, keeping her company and moral support.
  4. I understand your point, however I could see the EO being sold as a temporary moratorium until permanant legislation is passed.  Illegal or not, guns are little bit taboo right now to the masses, and politicians will distant themselves from it until things cool.  We certainly do not need a copy cat, that would only make matters worse and solidify political agendas.  The nation is ripe for change.
  5. As bad as I hate to say this, considering the political wind post CT, who would stand on the floor of the capital and call for a resending of a new EO regarding new gun law restrictions.  I know some far right wingers would, but we are in new territory by some of the comments that I am hearing in the "real" world, and not on a pro gun forum.  I am not throwing in the towel, and I will do my part writing to congressmen, and keeping the pot stirred, but I am amazed at some pro gun people who are now siding with Feinstein.
  6. These are great, keep them coming. I did fail to mention, I too like getting up early, drinking coffee, and just staring at the Christmas Tree with all its presents. Listening to the silence and recalling past Christmases in my mind. I love the celebration now, but I do love recalling the old ones, especially when I was a young boy. My mother is gone now, but I sure do miss her, especially on Christmas morning!
  7. Guys we the consumer don't care, but Wal-Mart competes against itself. I work in manufacturing, and our manufacturing plants are independent profit centers, and sometimes we can compete against ourselves for the same new business. Wal-Mart’s general managers are responsible for their store, and nothing more. Their performance pay is likely structured based upon the ugly word "profit". I am sure walmart.com has a general manager too just like a brick and mortar store does, his/her performance is based upon profit too. Highly likely when the local Wal-Mart has a site to store item, that local store charges walmart.com a handling fee, but the profit is reported under walmart.com.   Personal example, black Friday this year, we purchased one of those Emerson 32" tvs I think for $148, but our local Wal-Mart ran out before we could take delivery, and we were given a voucher from Walmart.com which would honor the $148 price. By email, they said they would honor the price, but delivery would be around Dec. 15th. We noticed a few days after Black Friday, our local Wal-Mart received a crap load of those 32" tvs, but we could not take delivery of ours. Then on the 14th, we received an email that our TV has shipped to our store, and then on the 15th, we received an email it was ready to be picked up. A very clear separation of inventory (one would think they would just go to the floor and retrieve one of the same tvs in inventory, but no it does not work that way).   At the end of the day, the profit centers do roll up to mighty Wal-Mart co. profit, but in daily operations each Wal-Mart works as an independent profit center, contends with cost of sales, and costs of inventory, labor, shrinkage, and other brick/mortar costs. Very simple. However, we consumers just want the same price through the Wal-Mart chain! We the consumers don't care about the interworking’s! However, the stock holders, mutual fund holders that have a Wal-Mart apart of their portfolio care very much about profit. Just remember, in a free market society, a business has an obligation to its ownership first, and then the customer. The customer is #1 sounds great, but it’s a Marketing spin, business ownership is #1, and then the consumer is #2. Without customers, a business is nothing, but without profit there is no business.
  8. My papaw use to just dip them in buttermilk, egg and flour, and then fry in a cast iron skillet. I love to have some trout, soup beans, and a mess of ramps. Did I mention corn bread, and a large tall glass of whole milk.
  9. Welcome, Merry Christmas!
  10. Merry Christmas everybody!
  11. I believe with congress adjourned, or will be adjourned, he even has greater authority.  I remember President Bush nominating and confirming John Bolton for the Ambassador to the U.N. during the Christmas break, because the Senate would not confirm Bolton.  With the Senate adjourned, it gave President Bush certain legal powers.  I look for something similiar with Obama, his elevated powers  with the Senate adjourned, and guns.
  12. Ours:  Like my dad did with my family when I lived at home, later this evening, sitting by the candle light, hot cocoa and blankets, I will read from the Bible the Christmas story Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 2:1-20, then I will close with John 3:16.  We then will tuck the kids in for bed, then wrap presents, assemble toys, and go to bed around 2am.  We will then get up around 6am, and have a blast.  One of our quirky traditions we do is the making of the Christmas cookies and goodies in the days before Christmas, my young boys (8, 7, 3, and our 2 month old) with their Christmas green aprons on help their mother roll dough, cut cookies, and really make messes.   Its quirky, but I love it!    What is yours?
  13. My high capacity magazines capacity are about 4 to 5! Seriously. Finally the government recognizes it.   A few years back, we received a notice from an airline, that if we do not use our sky miles soon, we would lose them. Wife and I decided to take advantage of an insert and advertisement to use your miles for magazine subscriptions. So we subscribed to the most common ones, People, Sports Illustrated, Time, Wall Street Journal, some cat magazine, some dog magazine, a horse magazine, and many more. She even made a mistake in ordering the People magazine in Spanish by mistake, you would think its based upon the english version, but no, it was based upon Mexico and South America stars. Anyway, when these magazines started rolling in, we thought cool. Then they really started rolling in, rolling in, and rolling in. They started piling up, piling up, and piling up. Working people cannot read that many magazines. You can only poop so many times, and the length of time you spend in the bathroom has time limits or should. So after a year, we stopped the madness. Today, we only have 3-4 max, and 3 of the 4 are gun related. Oh, the mailman still will not wave to us, I think that made him mad that we had so much mail and magazines.   So the moral of the story, thank goodness the government agrees with my family, there should be a capacity on the number of magazines you have (the periodicals kind!).
  14. I do know that Wal-Mart has certain items in the brick & mortar stores that vary in pricing from one store to the next. Motor oil is a prime example, and I have been told that certain Wal-Mart’s belong to certain regional districts, the regional districts can have different pricing models or assumptions due to competition and market trends.      I know this for certain on certain items, take for example the Wal-Mart closest to me (10 miles South) is in one district, I think out of Chattanooga, whereas another Wal-Mart (12 miles North) is in another district. There are certain items, motor oil, certain grociries (same brand), and few other common items that have different pricing, not much difference, but different.  Then I am originally from Sevierville, the Wal-Mart there is always 3-10% higher on most items, I guess it was for the tourist. Locals in Sevierville know to go to Wal-Mart in Newport, Jefferson City, and South Knoxville to save a few pennies. Same stuff, different pricing structure. Here is one that I found odd and not what I expected: We recently went to Hawaii for family vacation back in the summer, spent practically every other day at a Wal-Mart for a few items, tourist stuff, food, etc., had some time to observe other items for comparison to home, the results were surprising, though most food staples were extremely expensive, but hard line items were exactly the same as East Tennessee pricing. I would have thought it would be more expensive due to the extra logistics costs to Hawaii.
  15. I would imagine Walmart.com is an independent profit center vs. the brick and motar store. Different pocket same pair of pants. We consumers see the pants, and don't care about the pocket, they do.

Sig P6 or P225, thin yes, but not on the light side.
  17. I give, you are right, it is still a violation of a law, and carries a hefty fine and upto a year in jail.
  18. I wonder if he has been charged yet. If the Feds will not do it, I wonder of Jim Neighbors will (aka Gomer Pyle, citizens arrest, citizens arrest).  Serioulsy, since this is serious times, something needs to happen to this fragrant violation of the law, please see the story on TTAG.   http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/12/foghorn/meet-the-press-david-gregory-breaks-dc-gun-laws-on-national-tv/
  19. Thanks, the one that was considering is the Howard Leight by Honeywell R-01902 Impact Pro Electronic Shooting Earmuffs. What I like is the passive 30 NRR. That appears to be some the best out there.
  20. Diane wants your phone number, because she wants to use your picture in a quaint discussion in early January.
  21. I have been on the cigar wagon for a few years now. You are trying to push me off.
  22. I wonder if the Mayans knew about leap years and daylight savings time.  Maybe our calendar is not snych with theirs, maybe we missed it by 24, 48 hours?  If its the winter equinox, how do we know that is 12/21?  I am sure there were a bunch of scientists that determined when the equinox was?  I wonder if its the same group that told me in elementary school that there were 9 planets in our solar system, and that Saturn had 3 rings.    Just like my firearm and ammo situation, I was ready for the ban this time.   If today is the end of the world, I am ready too, spiritually, mentally, and becuase my body aches all the time, physcilaly ready to go too.
  23. I thought I found a source, but hours later after I placed an order a few 21 mags, I received the dreadful email, sorry, we are out of......   http://www.gtdist.com/
  24. Please...... is nothing sacred, this is my only quiet time to myself, plus I don't want my hobby budget to go up 1.5x or 2x.
