I believe the plants enjoy the saltpeter (potassium nitrate). So any that has a high level should do. I think plants probably can not read, and likely will not know which is brand is better. :pleased:

I have no experience in this subject, but I do read books. I recall reading about what the special teams wear: http://www.adidas.com/us/product/mens-outdoor-gsg9-2-boots/E1309

Folks I have said this on many other posts, the BUYER sets the market, not the seller. Imagine for a moment a recent adjusted equilibirum retailer like Bentons suddently couldn't sell anything, what do you suppose would happen to their pricing business model? Do you suppose they would keep it unchanged? Absolutely not, they would change. As long as buyers are willing to pay, retailers will seek out the equilibirum price. Its when buyers refuse to buy, is when the seller is brought to its knees. If gun interest buyers could ever form a consortium, imagine the power they could yield on a retailer or retailers. Prior to the age of the internet, this could never happen, but now with the internet and especially social media, this is a very possible group in the future. Bricks and Mortars can and will be jeopardy in the next 50 years. The Amazon effect, visit a retail, touch, feel, but do not buy, just come home and buy from the internet the same item you just seen, have it deilvered at your home or your local FFL. For you who can not remember what a consortium is (I actually had to look it up a few years ago): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consortium

Advice for Someone Thining About Starting to Handload/Reload
runco replied to superduty's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I am about a month ahead of you regarding reloading 223 and commpon pistol calibers. Here are couple of posts of others with the same or similiar question that I have followed: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/56167-good-reloading-starter-kit/ http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/57100-wanting-maybe-needing-to-start-reloading/ BTW I just finished decapping my 1000 piece of LC brass. Great time spent in my reload den, I can see how this can quickly become a great past time for me. -
If you are convinced this is a bell curve business cycle and that we are nearing the top of the bell curve price due to the threat of the government restrictions, then most definitely sell, cash in, etc. However, looking through my prisim, me personally I am going to sit this out, becuase I think the inventory that I have, in the end I will reflect and be glad I did not cash in. My basic premise is that the things I have bought for my hobby/self defence was for me and my family, not to cash in.

Bentons is nice display retailer, but not a great value retailer. I do not buy from Bentons due to: They are one of those retailers that have a CC price and Cash price, though I understand the CC reason, I made a choice years ago, not to buy from retailers like that. As a side note, I will not buy Sams Choice or Murphy Gas due to that same reason. Another reason I will not buy from Bentons is they are like 10%+ on retail pricing for guns, and those safes are like 15-20% more than what I have seen else where. This was all before Sandyhood! I do visit for the displays of guns, touch and feel, and they normally have in stock items that I look for, so I go there to see, and buy from else where (the amazon effect). I know they have a cult following, but I am not one of them. They are many men that praise Bentons as one of the best, not me! I believe the profile of those cult followers are they are not the brightest person in the world, or they have a whole lot more money than me, or both.

This will be good regarding Cabelas. I had never been to a Cabelas before until last year. I was on a business trip to Michigan, and had an extra few hours of the evening, and I drove down to the Dundee store. I was expecting another Bass Pro, and boy was I fooled. You could fit about 3-4 of the Seveirville Bass Pros into that one location. They had one of the largest gun displays I had ever seen by a retailer, then the gun room was even more impressive with the fine shotguns and hunting rifles they had on display. The scenery of the taxidermy items were beyond anything that I have seen, and they had built a mountain inside the store, and still yet the store was like I said 3-4 times the size of Bass Pro. Regarding pricing, I did not notice anything out of the ordinary, and seemed to be in line with Bass Pro, Gander and etc. Regarding Bristol, I believe I read awhile back there was a specific reason and footprint they wanted, and Bristol fit. I recall it is going to be built on the VA side of Bristol (I am not 100% sure about that). I will try to find the article that I recall reading.

Can Barack Obama Ban Guns By Executive Order?
runco replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My aluminum foil hat and crystal ball says that a EO will be issued, and that immeidately it will be challenged and injuction sought and obtained. Over the course of time, the legislation will catch up and either a EO will be withdrawn, knocked down through the courts and/or the EO will be confirmed. In the meantime, the gun/ammo market will not return to normal until this all plays out. Unfortunately this could be measured in months if not years, unless there is a fast track due to more public mass shootings. The political machine knows they must pass any new restrictive legislation now before they get into an election year like 2014, otherwise it will not pass the legislation. -
So who isn't really worried about the current shortage of stuff?
runco replied to Raoul's topic in General Chat
No panic here, but I did get caught without reloading supplies. I have always wanted to reload, but could never justifiy it through the prisim of cost, but easily justifed through the prism of just having the ability to reload. I have acquired everything I need without paying any premium, its just been a long due dilligence in search and find though. -

What is as Scarce as 22 Ammo, 223 and PMAGS?
runco replied to runco's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
FINALLY SCORED TODAY!!!! This has been an serious obessesion over the course of the past two weeks. I have spent hours and hours googling Lee 90963 9mm, and honestly have visited 100s of web sites, to only see "out of stock" either shown directly, on in the checkout. Yes I could have bought the 3 piece set, and add the factory crimp die as suggested, but I wanted to see if I could find precisely what I wanted, it was a challenge. I even visited over-seas web site stores, and used ebay over seas. Nothing! Low and behold, today, I stopped at my local gun shop and they had one, and he cut $5 off the price. He did admit that he just got this in a few days ago. Did you know that Midway has a Geat Britain web site too. http://www.midwayuk.com/, it was just cool to browse. -
I do not think this is accurate. I had several rifles stolen from my business back in 1995. I receive a call every 2-5 years from the police dept. asking me if I had recovered them, and I simply say no, they just say thank you. I did have a gun recovered 4-5 years ago in another jurisdication from the same breakin, so I know there is a record somewhere.

A couple of things, the temporary 2% Social Security Tax repreieve was not renewed, so for sure you were hit with that. This is not a income tax, just tax on social security (a spin so to speak), and then this was a question that I asked my HR person at work last week. Logistcially, did our payroll service keep up with what was going on in the media, or are we going to have a least 1 or 2 payroll checks with presumed major tax increases. My HR guy thought likely a temporary tax hike because congress acted so late, and payroll companies had to make assumptions before the actual bill was passed. I assume you and I will are hit for sure with the 2% plus maybe what the payroll company had to assume. Of course we will get back the assumptions (hopefully).

Promoters of guns shows have several business reasons and not legal reasons why trading or buying guns on the outside of an active gun show is prohibited or stronly discouraged. If people trade or sell on the outside, then they might not want to pay the houseman the entry fee, thus lost revenue to the promoter. Table vendors (not businesses, but likely individuals) may just setup shop in the parking lot and sell from the bed of thier truck, car, etc, avoiding the table fee, thus lost revenue for the promoter. Those are probably the most reasons, but there could be others. Other less likely reasons: In the parking lot, media and other anti gun people can have free rein to take pictures of gun transactions in attempt to show a negative spin on the gun world that its an open swap meet of unregulated gun transactions that could equate to bad PR, or bad relations with the actual venue owner thus potentially hurting the promoter for future events (loss revenue again for the promoter). Another reason, guns traded and viewed on the inside have some reasonable sense of safety since they are highly likely have been checked and cleared as an unloawed firearm, whereas on the outside, firearms run a higher risk to be loaded, thus endangering people. There could be possibly more reasons, but I assume its a revenue thingy. Insurance reasons, maybe, but highly doubtful, but an easy answer to give gullable people who complain about having to move on if someone is trying to sell on the outside. I would assume insurance only applies for indoor activity only, and is liability insurance for the actual venue owners, since likely the gun promoter is a corporation and has no assets (dispurses cash quickly to the employees and stock holders after each venue).

Thank you for posting, I read this letter yesterday, and due to the problems with this site, I didn't post. OUTSTANDING LETTER! For the ones like me who click on these links 50% of the time, here is the letter Vontar was referring too: Senator Dianne Feinstein, I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government's right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma'am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one. I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America. I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man. I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public. We, the people, deserve better than you. Respectfully Submitted, Joshua Boston Cpl, United States Marine Corps 2004-2012

Try to find Lee 9mm Deluxe Re-Loading dies, or at least at a resonable price. Midway has been out for some time, about 20 others are too. I could have bought some on ebay (new) earlier in the week, but the delivered price was >$60.00.

Having lots of trouble getting to the site tonight. The NSA or ATF must be scanning or running their software.

I can believe it. I went to a gun auction last summer, and it was crazy then. Post CT, a public gun auction, and wow! PT Barnum is clawing to get out of the grave to get a piece of this action!

Reminder to look on gunbroker. I was able to snare some yesterday in the $0.13 ea. price range delivered for once fired Lake City. I understand this is excellent brass if you don't mind a little extra work, tougher than usual decapping and primer reaming. The seller was a shop who normally sells this. I was wary of individuals whom appeared to be selling for the first time.

Does the ss media have to be a certain size and shape to be effective? I notice on eBay there is 0.185" size ss balls, would this work? As a cost per lb basis this is the best price I have found. http://www.ebay.com/itm/410-Stainless-Steel-Tumbling-Media-Sling-Shot-0-185-Ball-Diameter-25-lbs-/140875478264?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20ccd534f8

By family, it was my dad from age 7 or 8 to the present, and I am 44. Squirrel hunting, coon hunting, deer hunting, and just plinking/target shooting say a few 100+ times, over a course of a lifetime. Does that qualify as training?
