  1. I have noticed how the conversations have changed significantly from +24 hours after Sandy Hook, to +1 month after Sandy Hook.  I have to agree with the OP, I too have over heard many conversations in similiar fashion.  I have jumped in when and where I could.  Momentum is shifting, but I do have to pinch myself, this is Tennessee (a heavily conservative state).
  2. For men that are not motivated to be in guns, here is a suggestion.  I use to be gun nut for years, and then it dampened for a long period of time, it was not until I was married and with children it hit me again, stronger than ever.  The defence effect of guns became front and center.  Though we had no direct incident that prompted my return, I do read way too much about home invasions and other things that go bump in the night.  If your man is not motivated, inform him how scared or concerned you are, tell him about news articles, make up stuff, and etc.  I believe most men should have a natural instinct to protect the heard (heard = wife & kids).   However, if the heard is well armed, then he might not be so concerned, just a lazy Lion, let the lionesses take care of the food and defence of themselves.  Not sure if I solved your problem, but that is not a bad idea.  Hmmmm.
  3. Good read, thanks. At one time the first 2 digits of your SSN use to indicate the state you were born in, i.e. 41x-xx-xxxx, the 41 use to be for Tennessee born. However, my last two kids SSN were radically different. My first two has the 41 number like me, but my others don't.
  4. How many miles shots is the oil filter good for?  3K, 5K, or 7K?  Or is it unlimited (seriously).
  5. Guys, I can't go, I need someone to proxy me.  No paperwork needed, just commit to represent my interests and spirit in the best professional citizen way as possible.
  6. I think Gen4s are cool to look at, but I am a Gen2 guy. All of my Glocks are Gen2. I am currently slowly acquiring the complete array of Gen2s for my collection from 17 to 23. Can you believe a Sig guy will buy Glocks? I do, love guns, all types. Reminds me of my best friend in College, he dated all types of girls all the time, really. I recall some absolute 10s, and then the 5s, and the 2s or 1s. Races, size, etc. didn't matter. His motto, if you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with. Got up too early this morning, little silly at the moment.
  7.   I think you are referring to the no knock up her law.
  8. Looks great, congrats.  My first shotgun was my evil Winchester 37A, 410.  Still have it, it is still as wicked today as it was back in 1974 when my folks gave it to me.  I do believe of my guns, it has killed more mammals than any one gun that I have (mostly squirrels).  Thus, the most evil gun that I have (evil to squirrels, good to me).
  9. Folks the poll is over, now it is the honorable and full of integrity Mr. Lance Armstong! What a Joke! ">http://
  10. Crossbreed supertuck +1, lefty in the small will work great.  I wear my righty at 5pm with heavier Sigs, and I am a 300lb+ Phelt type person.  Works great with me.
  11. As long as their is a threat in the legislation, Federal or State, I think prices will remain high.  Only after a year that AR15 that is in closet and/or under the bed is just collecting dust, the gun nut wantabes, will begin to flood the market, likely trades for high end pistols, or discounted cash.    BTW My local Wally informed me last night they are expecting 6 AR15s in the coming days/weeks.  I am really warming up with the counter person(s), they have informed me what days they typically receive guns, I know when the UPS truck usually arrives, how long it takes from time of receipt to to actual display, and I am thinking about getting them a Star Bucks card for actual information when one arrives.  I make sure I always talk to the counter person, what a hard and good job they are doing, and we always talk shop or something personal.  Its beginning to work.  Nothing wrong with market intelligence.
  12. I visited the website for the West Virginia Media that hosted this show, I think their motto is funny after listening to the interview:   First the link, http://www.wvmh.com/   Their motto:  In fulfilling our public trust to observe and report the news, West Virginia Media hopes to improve the quality of life for all those people who call this area home.  My opinion, their qualtiy of life would improve if they simply stopped watching this outlet.  What a joke.   Supposedly, the interviewer, Bray Cary (Owner & CEO West Virginia Media), can be reached at this email address:  decisionmakers@wvmh.com<decisionmakers@wvmh.com>;
  13. Outstanding video, thanks for sharing.  Do you really think the reportor's pucker factor went up when he knew the guy was armed.  Me no, but he wanted the audience to know he felt threatened.
  14. Likely what happened, when you called and they said they had the rifle, they know if they had said no, you would not have bought it, but you did (likely their sales strategy on not so common guns).  What really happened, they had 0 in stock, but their computer showed that within the next 5-7 days their supplier either had committed to ship one, or their agreement with their supplier is that the supplier can deliver within 5-7 days of an order.  I assume this is not a common rifle that has a great demand, so no retailer wants to hold something in inventory for any length of time.  Usually great demand items, retailers have no issues with having high inventories (pre Sandy).  In the end, their supplier let them down, thus letting you down.
  15. Here is what it looked like about 1 min. ago: http://
  16. I have to disagree, he was seperated from birth from this identicle twin http://
  17. Runco's garage (reloading), a ton in my gun safe (maybe 1/2 ton), and my truck.  I found 3-4 50 round boxes of 22 in my truck that I didn't even know I had, must have been left over from squirrel hunting last fall.
  18. I have voted multiple times using different IP address items, and none of the numbers are changing.  Hmmmm?
  19.   Hmmm, I didn't get that email.  Do you mind sharing when you ordered yours?  I ordered my on 12/25.
  20. Had some time last evening and got to see this movie. I thought it was very good, a little on the long side, and follows Mark Owens Book, No Easy Day, more than I expected, however there were some minor different versions. Glad I read the book, because it filled some gaps that I thought the movie left out. The movie is not about the Seals, however the last 20 min. of the movie is. The movie is all about the girl, Maya, that was recruited from high school to work for the CIA, and her obsession for obl. The movie is tense at times, and does bring out patriotic feelings. I highly recommend it.   Warning, there are guns in this movie. Just in case gun banners or sensitive people are reading this post.   BTW if you have not seen it, do not go to the bathroom or get popcorn during the last hour of the movie, its close to 3 hours, the scene where Leon Panetta asks who Maya is, her outburst reply is outstanding and priceless.
  21. I have the P228 too, I have to agree, probably the pinnacle of most sig collections. Excellent guns.
  22. Anybody heard anything on the op?  I figure many companies may have been hoarding until the President released his EOs.  I noticed ctd released a flood of emails wanting me to buy, I likely never will again from them.
  23. I honestly didn't see any real substance. Lot of recommendations, studies and lip service enforcing current laws.
  24. I have both a P6 and P226. I prefer to carry the P6 due to size and excellent fit, but my P226 has the best trigger of the two by far. Just remember not all P6 like hollow point ammo. If you are very serious about sigs and money is not a problem, get the P225, they are rare, haven't seen any other than GB. The P6 when found should still be reasonable, I.e. $350ish, the P226 probably has a lot of post sandy market effect, Maybe N of $500ish. Get both if the budget allows. My 2 cents.
  25. I thought the eos were watered down and have no significant meaning. I have to agree with op.
