  1. I have the same problem both on my destop and my ipad.  I also have problems posting, it sometimes takes 2 or 3 times.  I usually copy paste, and it takes.  This has been occuring for about 6 weeks for me.
  2. My Walmart is a secret, and I too do know about what time the UPS and FedEx delivery times are!  Okay, its that store at Turkey Creek in Knoxville or is it?
  3. How about a $200 Lee 223 Deluxe Die Set!   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lee-223-Remington-5-56-Deluxe-Reloading-Die-Set-with-extras-/290852762873?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43b82cf4f9   Actually they are going for close to $100, I have watched three sets sell at this price.
  4. Go with the base P226 model, and enjoy.  New or used, outstanding firearm.  I currently own many Glocks, Berettas and Sigs, ALL are excellent firearms, if it must be Sig, and it must be a 9mm, go with the classic.  As always, with a Sig, there comes a serious risk of signess diease.
  5. That looks like one of those pictures that my son who is in 2nd grade has to look at, and find one that does not fit!  Great picture.
  6. Was just talking to my elderly father about something he did this weekend. First, let me setup the story, he has always been one of those old farts that trades knives, buys junk at yard sales, and occasionally trades and sells them at the local flea markets. Him and his best friend from childhood, started last year target shooting 22LR rifles 2-3x times a week, they burn through 1/2 to full brick each week. On with the story, he at one time probably had 100 bricks of 22 ammo, a lifetime of buying ammo, various brands and ages. He has finally burned through the inventory, except about 10 bricks of ammo that he says doesn't group well, in any gun, so he doesn't shoot it. Some old Federal that he purchased at $4-$6 brick at Wynn’s in Sevierville 1970s or 1980s. He had this idea about letting that junk ammo go at a local auction house, one of those every Saturday night auctions. He just told me, he did that auction thing, and each brick brought $65 a brick, +10% premium, +9.75% sales tax, so that is $78 a brick of 20-30 year old ammo. He said that one man basically bought it all, and they were in different lots.   This is funny, sad and unbelievable. Auctions do get carried away, especially for guns, but who would have thought that about ammo! I have a large inventory of 22LR ammo, don't want to sell it, but at $65 brick. I do have to do some soul searching. Guns are one thing, but 22LR ammo? I for one, 100% believe 22LR ammo will return to normal someday, so why not cash out and restock at a later time.
  7. That looks more like a Dillon showroom!  Excellent job.
  8. I think that will be furthist from my mind if I have to shoot!  I will be more worried about the mess on the floor than my ear drums.
  9. Regarding S bills, even though I can't stand this Senator, but I thought Harry was a NRA receiptent of funds, if so, will that not help?
  10. Glad I don't live in Knoxville! My little town mayor I know well, he just might be a poster here on TGO, not sure! He is definitely pro 2A! His influence is about 600 residences though, not a large voting block!
  11. Good to hear, a little peace of mind isn't!  I never did fully understand, did you have crawl space or basement under your floor?  Or was this a hardwood floor on a slab?
  12. I say all LGS not only in Tennessee but everyone in the U.S. have broken double digit sales records, however restocking with on-hand inventory with guns that actually sells, ammo that actually sells, and anyting else will likely be a huge challenge.  I say the margins made in December and January will be needed to pay the bills in February and March.  Hopefully by then, everthing will return to normal.
  13. I think the standard Colt w/o Magpul furniture was $1,097 like the others have posted, but Walmart also sells the Colt w/Magpul furniture, I think it was $1,124 or something.
  14. I believe a high majority of people who were considering buying an ARs before Sandy, now owns an AR.  At least those with good credit.  I agree, those with income tax checks who have bad credit, likely will go on a binge once more.  Others need the check to pay for the cc bills.
  15. Ever use fish oil, that stuff stinks, but its slick. You ever tried to hold or catch a fish with your hands, mighty slick. Seriously, I still use what my dad used, 3 in 1 oil, it's cheap, small and has a smell of its own.
  16. My secret has been a cool whip bowl. They are great for cereal too.
  17. I have to agree with the op, public relations and perception means a lot to the loyalists these says.
  18. My only point on a new comprimise, is that you still have a high level of resemblence of the core freedoms we all want, less the comprimise.  If we dig our heels in, we just might retain all of rights, however, if we lose, the nation is ripe for major change, maybe NY style change, and unfortuantely I think the hard core gun nut like I am and others are on this forum, are in a national minority.  All we need is another Sandy Hook, and the tsumai wave of change will happen.
  19. What these guys have said it textbook, and is the correct thing to do.  However, if you have access to property, and you are at no risk of stray bullets hitting people/houses, grab some paper targets or coke cans, and go the property, wear hearing protection, and have at it.  If need be, brush up on some youtube videos for safe handling.   To me, learning how to shoot is like learning how to drive a car, you can take drivers ed at school, or you can drive your dad's truck in the hay fields or on the back roads.  Now I am probably old school.
  20. I came, bought from David (he was too busy to talk), and like others said, I laughed alot, $50 used Glock mags, Really?  I was suprised to see so many people on outside just standing around, and 90% had ARs for sell.  The parking lot had people on the tailgates with ARs for sale.  I do believe the bubble will burst very soon, those December CC bills are starting to roll in.  The market is saturated now.  I did see a Sig M400 on Armslist for $1,000 a couple of days ago in Knoxville.   I know Walmart is getting theirs in slowly, and the pricing is pre Sandy, so my advice, just be patient and work the networking and be vigilant with classifieds.  Unless I am really bored and need laughs, I think I am going to cool my gun show trips, especially to the K-Town ones.  And I forgot my $2 discount, crap!
  21. Maybe others have done this, but I was talking to my new friend behind the counter at my local Wally.  She keeps me informed about ammo shipments, and other happenings.  This morning she told me they had a Colt 6920 to come in yesterday, and it sold to the first person on the list.  I said what list?  She said they have a few post it notes to call people when AR15s come in.  She said the first guy on the list they called, bought it.  Well, I told her to add me to the list, and it was actually a short list.   I am sure this is a store by store non managerial approach, but if you are still looking, you might just want to warm up to your local Wally sporting goods desk person, and either add your name, or start a list.  The pricing is unchanged from pre-Sandy.  I don't need another AR, but I would like to add another to the litter.
  22. I don't want to compromise, but I also don't want to lose the war. The old saying you can win the battle, but the lose the war mentality. These are new times, and the old stand my ground "may" not work. As a last line in the sand, I would accept having a to qualify to own a gun like my hcp process, before I lose the ability to own AR15, 30 round magainze, etc. Compromise is not a bad word, if done intelligently and strategically!
  23. The reason to classify guns, is to pass a 21st century version, I think you need to clarify the class (otherwise it would not pass in today's climate). Personally, I don't think any amendment that re-affirms the 2nd would pass, I just wanted to see people's hypothetical version of a complimentary 2nd amendment so there would be no doubt or misinterpretations going forward.  Me personally I am just sick of this attack on my rights and I just want it to go away not just today, forever!  To make it go away for ever, I just want a iron clad amendment that protects my guns, carry anywhere in the U.S., defend my family & property anywhere anytime, defend my rationale to own a AR15 with unlimited magazines, and that I can pass these down to my sons/daughters w/o any worry again.  However, with ownership comes responsbilites and minimal standards that has a gun society we must admit and accept.
  24. You are 100% correct, I can not back up the claim regarding the Lifetime 3rd party 1-800 number.  However, one must ask themselves, though the NRA has a web site with a 1-800 number, why are there other numbers out there?  Obvious 3rd party line.  This is simple to confirm or deny, call the non-NRA web site 1-800 number, ask them if 100% of the proceeds go to the NRA, OR does the NRA pay any recruiting fee/bonus for each member signed?  If they can not answer, or provide an answer, I would like to know.   Regarding get into the gun show thing, I can state as a former gun business owner, I was a NRA recruiter as a retailer, and the NRA gave me a $10 finders fee for anyone that I signed up for the NRA.  Back then, yes I took advantage of every revenue stream.  Today, I am much wiser and much more informed, and I actually care more today.  That is all.    Thank you for the challenge, I like that.
  25. Here is my idea #1:   We the people hereby further define the 2nd amendment as follows: We the people shall have the ability at all times to acquire, own, use in self-defense, carry, pass to our Aires all types of semi auto and single shot firearms, ammo, magazines without limitations as we the people deem necessary for freedom, recreation, home defense, property defense and self-defense at any time and any place without any legislation by the government. However, we the people understand that qualifying to own a firearm is necessary to guard against criminal activity, mental challenges and human safety, therefore we the people do authorize the government through an independent 3rd party to implement reasonable minimal qualifications to own a firearm, and renewal of a qualifications to be no less than every 10 years. Any and all qualifying shall be at no cost to the qualifying firearm owner and shall be administered through the internet or similar quick resource.
