  1. In my professional position with the company I work for, I routinely review and mentor others on how to detect and measure financial risk of vendors and suppliers to avoid part supply interruptions. It doesn't take a Jack Welch to know that the business landscape that our favorite local mom & pop gun stores are working in, may cause them to be @ serious financial risk in the near future.  I will explain.   We all know the local gun stores have been sizzling in record sales and likely profits. However, that has been short lived.  The inventories are gone, and rationing of re-stocking of the hot items is occurring, gun stores cannot restock with healthy inventories.  So the bread and butter is gone or seriously hampered.  In addition, market conditions have produced a retail nightmare. Those individuals that would have bought guns/ammo this spring, have accelerated their plans, and made the purchases now in the great ammo gun panic of 2012/2013. So those retail sales that LGS needed in the near future, are likely gone, or seriously eroded.  Coupled this issue with a lack of quality levels of inventory, and then the LGS are left with revenue streams not meeting operating costs, and we all know what that means.  So those LGS will have no choice but to change their business model, cut costs, explore new retail items, or in critical situations, run very lucrative sales to just pay the bills. Only those LGS that are very healthy (flushed with cash, or the owners are able to give back profits), have concealed carry training classes, or on site firing ranges, will sustain this business cycle.  I am not advocating a cash mob be organized and target LGS, but I simply advocating awareness not only for customers but also those retail clerks who are working for those LGS. Just some deep thoughts to consider. I am actually quite bored this evening, and haven't been posting in a few days, and feel pinned up with my thoughts and outbursts this evening.
  2. I don't consider myself a Glock guy, but I recently (just recently) acquired a 23. Too many 9s, and the other 40s are feeling jealous, so I thought I would get them a new friend. That Glock size 19, 23, 32, etc. are an excellent size, and just fits sweet, just like all of the reports that I have read. Thanks alot Hickok45! I haven't been to the range yet, but I want to go. Congrats!
  3. I was trying to help, and found this interesting article. You may want to reconsider purchasing anything from IKEA: http://ikeahatesguns.webs.com/
  4. Haven't you heard Baltimore is going bankrupt, and the ravens are fleeing!  They are being quiet trying to find a new home.
  5. Thank you, I am in the 12/27 line as well.
  6. You got that right, I do not fear the ATF, I fear Mrs. Runco!  Going to bed on that one (bathroom first)
  7. If from the pictures is all that you have, which is good, it will not take long until you understand, the wife need not know.  To put it into perspective, its when the 48 gun safe is threating a revolt or a federal lawsuit of over-crowding, losing its acreditation, then the wife is more prone to say like NoBanStan said, its the money, trust, priorities, secret life, are you a maniac, etc, etc.
  8. I am all about OEM sights in most guns.  Only step outside the OEM when necessary, but do your homework.
  9. Just got a response from Mike Bell, wow less than 1 hour:   Runco   This bill has my support and vote. Mike Sent from my iPad
  10. I dare not take a picture of my hobby items, my wife has no idea, seriously. Even the spreadsheet that I keep a record of my guns on, I have to camouflage in such a way, that only a PHD mathematician could decipher. However, I am convinced birth control for guns is simply taking your wife everywhere with you, make sure she reads every email from that stranger you met on Armslist or that PM from a fellow TGO person, and take her with you to each gun show that you attend. If your barbershop is like mine, make sure she goes there too, there is always a gun trade going on at the barber shop. And for you guys that have a gun supporting wife, likely you are too broke to understand my quandary, because she likes guns too, and for two married adults to have a gun fetish, is just bankruptcy in the making. For the guys not married, buy as much now as you can, and hide em, seriously. Finally, not to discriminate, for you women reading this, I have no clue what to tell you, I have not met a gun loving woman before absent a husband.
  11. OUTSTANDING, I have the largest goosebumps on my arms as I type this.  Very well said.
  12. This one here lays heavy on my heart, and I use to have the biggest crush on her (Miss Daisy Duke): http--,,--//
  13. This is likely what they meant as certain conditions (copy pasted from the bill):   (A) Is kept from ordinary observation if the permit holder is   in the motor vehicle; or   (B) Is kept from ordinary observation and locked within the   trunk, glove box, or interior of the person’s privately owned motor   vehicle or a container securely affixed to such vehicle if the permit   holder is not in the vehicle.
  14. I feel your pain.  I have googled more places in the past 30 days, then I have in years, trying to find that last component, tool, etc. I need.  Fortunately, for me, I was prepared, very prepared, except 1 or 2 items, I do believe I will have those in my possession in the next 10 days.
  15. I sent my emails in support of the State Senate bill 142
  16. I emailed urging support.
  17. tempus edax rerum (or rehab or both).
  18. They have been around for ahwile. 20 years ago, when I was a FFL, I use to use them alot. Good business then, assume so now, never heard any negative on them, and I surf a lot of message boards.
  19. I have that same shotgun, it's a Browning Citori 525 with porting on both sides. Unless the ports on the left side are clogged up on purpose, there is no way the smoke is accurate. I have produced that much smoke when experimenting using motor oil to clean and lube my gun. It's rather embarrassing, only happened to me once, unfortunately it was at a turkey shoot with about 50 people standing around. Lots of questions.
  20. I am not a lawyer, but I spent about 5 years involved with a case that a uninsured driver hit and killed a loved one in my family a little over 11 years ago. Let me tell you, if the person has no assets, they have no assets. Even if you win a judgment in Tennessee, they only have to file a federal bankruptcy, and they are free from any obligation.   We wanted a $1 a month for life, but couldn't even get this through.  Lessons learned, I have bumped all of my uninsured motorist insurance to large amounts, don't carry the min. on uninsured, its for you.
  21. Did you ever consider the risk of liability on the vehicles you sold.
