Glock 33 round 9mm Factory mags at a reasonable price
runco replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I recently hit the jackpot with both GT Distributors and Glockmeister for factory Glock mags @ pre-Sandy pricing. Folks just be patient, do a little homework, and you will hit pay dirt. -
Like Rush said today, they (media & the left) will attack him like Palin. Like Palin, they are scared of him.

I do not own one, but I have followed 938 since the 2012 Shotshow press release. I have a self imposed rule, to wait at minimum 1 year from the release before buying. Over on the Sig forums there are numerous posts and opinions on the 938. A very high percentage are very positive. I did learn from over there to stay away from serial numbers less than 8500. Several posts on those other forums refer to the 938 with less than 8500 serial numbers to be gen1, and those greater than 8500 gen2. Sig did make a change to improve the FTE problems. Not suppose to be much trouble with those higher serial numbers, or so those forums say.

HB118/SB142: Current "parking lot" legislation
runco replied to GKar's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is very good news, I do believe the House has to pass a similiar bill. -
I learned at young age that too many old farts said they wished they had a certain gun back. Now I am old fart, and I listened, I can actually say I have not experienced the regret thing. I do not count the guns that I had when I owned a gun store. There was this double barrel Fox 410 that I had in inventory, it lasted about a day. It was sweet. Back then I couldn't afford to buy my own inventory for myself.

Anyone know where I can find a Lee Anniversary Kit in stock?
runco replied to PackinMama's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Ebay. Assuming $$$ is not an issue, and must have it now. -
I have Dish and I noticed that I have the Sportsman channel free this month. What are some good shows related to guns. What are they and when do they air? Not a big ban of white tail shows, or other hunting. Just interested in shooting shows. Noticed the NRA has a show at 5pm, but I can not get home in time. No DVR.

Add a cough like someone else suggested. Make it a wet one. In fact, while you are talking, try to talk with a lisp, with a little extra saliva in the mix. That will surely make them back up.

Welcome, enjoy, and lets hear your thoughts.

I am kind of torn. If this was a public range (free), then the user should leave it has it was found if not in better condition. If this is a fee range, then leaving trash and casings helps to get the most value for your buck, let someone else worry with it. If the scavengers don't tidy up, it gives the employees something to do, it adds jobs. Just my 2 cents.

Team Sig Sauer has changed their sweepstakes for February. Win a chance at Sig M400 Enhanced. Maybe the odds are more favorable to win one vs. finding one at the lgs. Are you in? Good luck. https://www.sigsauer.com/TeamSig/Sweepstakes.aspx

The choice is simple, if you appreciate fine quality rifles (nice wooden stocks and super finishes), go for the Browning or other high end. If you want an every day shooter, and don't care about scuffs, and scratches go with the synthetic stocks guns. However, if you want the medium, go with the Remington 700, Winchester 70, or the Ruger M77. In any case, you are going to have some fun. Report back once you buy and shoot.

I recall reading in a Guns & Ammo article back in the mid 1990s this very same subject matter. For long term storage, +6 months, that -2 rounds is optimum for spring fatigue. Example, if your max magazine load is 15 rounds, they recommended loading to 13. My memory is foggy, so recollection may not be accurate. Just my 2cents.

Kinda taking a play from our ancestors, I say a large caliber bore rifle and small caliber pistol. I do think the pistol is sort of useless in a SHTF afterlife, other than self defence. Only those weapons that can put food on the table at a great distance will be best. My pistol accuracy really falls off after 25 yards (actually 15 yards), and most sizable game that I have shot (shot at) through the years have been at least 50+ yards.

My problem is, I don't ever get rid of anything. I go through phases, but most importantly I appreciate all quality firearms, and just can not justify getting rid of anything. I made a promise to myself years ago, to buy at minimum one gun per year. Problem, I always exceed the at minimum requirement.

I received my noticed in the mail a few weeks ago, that it is time to renew, now we are cooking with peanut oil. This will be my 4th renewal. I was fortunate to be in the first initial wave back in October 1996. I recall taking my class, shooting range and completing the paperwork, and then waiting what felt like an eternity (close to 6 months) before getting my plastic card with my picture. So I guess the issue date of the actual card is when the clock begins ticking, so I recall renewing in 2001, 2005, 2009, and now 2013. This got me thinking, I will have had my now for 16 years this April, how long have you had a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit?

squirrel hunting strategy and tactics
runco replied to Fire/hunting guy's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Back to the original OP, as a youth I use to hunt alot of squirrels. I know what you mean about feast or famine. I have seen both. For the days the squirrels seem to be no where, like others have suggested patience, being extra quiet, and being still is the best. If you must walk in the woods, usually the leaves on the ground will let everyone know that you are there. My dad taught me to walk when an airplane is passing over which is more common than you think or if the woods you are hunting in are close to a road, wait until a car is passing so as to camoflage your noise. Once you are finished walking, just find that spot on the ground that is comfortable, relax and try to stay awake for next hour or two, and likely you will hear or see a squirrel. It also helps to use 22 short in these cases, so as not to be too loud when you take your shot assuming you want more than one prize. Enjoy. -
I did some research a few years ago, and decided on this brand and model. It appears this has some sort of certification for use with professional agencies. Maybe it was a marketing spin, but none of the others stated that. Here is the link to amazon, I think Reecom's website mentions the certification: http://www.amazon.com/Reecom-R-1650-S-A-M-E-Effective-Memories/dp/B003JHJL38 I did use to have this model, before switching to the Reecom: http://www.amazon.com/Midland-WR-300-MIDLAND-WR300-Weather/dp/B00009V2YV

Use to have mole problems really bad, did nothing, just suffered. Eventually got a cat (indoor/outdoor) for other reasons, problem solved. Been mole free for 2+ years now. No evidence other than a occasional dead mole on the back deck.
