I am a Sig guy too, but I am glad I don't have to make this decision. If I didn't own either, and what if ARs were no longer availabe, then you would kick yourself for not buying the AR. Well you could get a Sig M400. Deceision, decision, decision, I go with the Sig. I too do think that ARs will gravitate to pre Sandy pricing someday, and I hope they do not ban ARs.

Live free or die: The story of one very wise young lady.
runco replied to Volphin's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Bravo! Good read. -
Since I just finished up decapping close to 4,000 rounds of ammo over the couse of the past 2-3 weeks using a single stage press, and I have just started resizing most of it, its been a long journey, and I still have a lot of work to do. So when I was looking for something on google this evening and stumbled across this picture, it got me thinking for fun, how long would it take to reload this batch of casings using a single stage? http--,,--//

This is just sad news, now I am really depressed

I am resizing range brass, and I was in my routine, when then suddenly I saw a case with damage to the rim that I had already loaded on the holder and was shoving into the die, before I could react, I had already shoved it into the die. Then the whole rim tore off when I tried to extract it. I tried to remove it on my own, pliers, vice, etc, then I got smart and thought about searching for this problem, and bingo. I did ad another notch in the wisdom degree, always look at each case much more closely before I place it on the holder.

Joe Biden's point-blank advice: Buy a Shotgun

I had to buy a metal detector after my roof was replaced. The contractor did a poor job cleaning up nails. Told the wife it was cheaper to buy a metal detector than replacing lawn mower tires and ER bills from the kids stepping on nails. Found close to 1 lb of nails, and few weird metal objects, nothing valuable. No ER visits. BTW cool find!

Joe Biden's point-blank advice: Buy a Shotgun

I heard the interview and statement on this evening news. Just lame and stupid, what a fool :jester: ! -
I had this to happen tonight. A 9mm round, that had damage to the rim, before I shoved it into the Lee resizing die. Of course I tried pliers, and did more damage to the brass. I then stopped before I damaged my die, searched TGO, and found this site. The removal of the decapping pin, and then using the pin along with a hammer did the trick. Thanks for this posting. It was very helpful.

I do like to argue, and I have been accused by many that I would argue with a stop sign. So I think engaging in debate is healthy, and keeps your blade sharp. If you do not engage, how do you know how sharp your blade is. So at minimum it is not a waste of your time, but keeps you sharp and prepared!

I have 4 small children, and itch to have a confrontation like you did. I am always loaded for bear if someone wants to critique my parenting skills! So far this has not happened. I have almost had to pull my belt out a walmart with the kids just to start confrontation. I am ready!

Russian Nuke Bombers Circle Guam Hours Before SOTU
runco replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
My view, these major communist countries (Russia, China) have become drunk on capatilism. The only major conflict they would engage militarily would be over natural resources claims, etc. If the U.S. ever becomes non revelant on a global scale, then we need to worry. -
If that was my company, I would buy and tool up a 2nd plant in a gun friendly state. Double my capacity, and have many options on the table. I would leverage both state governments as much as possible for my business benefit.

I am ready for the 2013 NASCAR season, watched the Sprint Unlimited (Bud Shootout) last night, and today we have some major news. Congratulations Ms. Danica! This is big news! Still considered a rookie. She sure has come along way from the days of being a that cute host on Spike TV for Powerblock. http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/8956961/danica-patrick-first-woman-win-daytona-500-pole

NUGENT: GOP 'HAS LOST THEIR SCROTUM,' DEMOCRATS 'RUTHLESS'
runco replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I have been a staunch Republican supporter for close to 25 years now. Looking back, I agree whole heartedly with the OP. Republicans (national level) would rather compromise than stand the ground or push it in your face mentality like the dems do. I understand that leadership is the ability to influence others, it is not caving or whimping out. If the republicans want to take or be in a leadership role, they need to lead, not follow or whimp out. I was somewhat intrigued a few years ago with the Tea party, still had some reservations, but nonetheless found them to be intriguing. My desire is for the republicans to stand their ground. If you are going to go down, go down fighting, not fading or whimping away. BTW The state level republicans are feisty. The national republicans could learn alot from those state pesty young ones! Unless all national republicans began their public service at the state level, and they have lost their way which I suspect. -
I had this question this morning, thanks for this posting. Very informative.

GA ramping up efforts again to claim TN water

I don't understand why they can not get water from Strom Thurman Lake, about 90 miles east of Atlanta. -
Most probably missed this interview. I was at the Barber shop and heard it, and just now found the interview on WBIR's web site. It occured on Live @ 5 today (2/14/13). Its a interview with the former assistant director of the ATF, Mike Bouchard. http://www.wbir.com/video/default.aspx?bctid=2165933674001&odyssey=mod|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|featured

I think the peak of this moutain has been crossed on this road of the great 2013 Gun battle. However, this road still may have some more moutains and high peaks, maybe even higher, not sure when where the valleys will be.

Congrats. I too have recently started reloading and tumbling. Should have done this along time ago.
