I love the visual display of glass gun cases, but they are not for me. From security to fire risk to neon signs when visitors are over, they are just not me. I would think those plastic coated wire cables you can buy at Home Depot is what you need for smash and grab deterrant, however a good set of linesmen pliers can cut through that in <2 seconds.

He needed some heat, why do you have a cat.

I wonder if these were agency or government issued, or just personal weapons? I don't doubt years ago, this may have been the only weapon agencies could get, but in today's modern firearm world is what I am talking about. Again from my perspective. I truly respect the Ruger, and I may add it to the collection some day, but for my first 223 rifle, and if money was not an issue and it may be a SHTF gun, there is no choice to be made in my judgment.

If we are talking about nano seconds to react, I am going to reach to the closest gun I have, then if I have more time, eeny, meeny, miny, moe, which gun in the safe will blow a gargantuan hole in the idiot that is threatening my family. Noise and pentration will likely not be on my mind in those adrenal filled moments.

Thanks, but no thanks. I already have my famly portrait: ">http://

I hope you had a buddy riding shotgun while you were shooting, 22 ammo is like gold. If your back is turn for one mininute, those pesty butterfinger gun range pick pocketers can rip your 22 ammo from you in seconds! Seriously, good with iron sights and your 2nd outing.

My litmus test is this: How many police agencies, swat, military including 3rd world nations, elite commandos, etc. have tested or have the Ruger as a standard rifle? I am just saying why roll the dice, when you consider the overwhelmnig evidence. This has always been my approach to serious weapons, trust what the men and women of police and military trust their lives with. Toys are a different matter and is personal preference.

Unless the laws have changed since I was in the business, the sending party does not have to be a FFL, only the transferree has to be. If certain FFLs insist that the sender be a FFL, this is likely a business decision based upon risk assessments, not a law obligations. The commerical risk likely consists of gun ownership risk and tracibility risk. Its easier for the transferring FFL to go back to the shipping FFL, vs. John Doe.

Disposible income, it can be a witch sometimes!

Did you know that Senator Jim Inhofe from Oklahoma attached ammendment 139 yesterday to that prevents the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. Way to go! I believe this bill has passed both Senate and House. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d113:4:./temp/~bd8Jrk::

It looks great, but for the life of me, I do not understand the need. I know I have turned my heels on some Glocks that had this done, no interest by me. Is there a real benefit?

I hear this guy is available to hold targets, you have to aim a little lower though, he is a little short: ">http://

Local news - Officers can't get enough ammo for training
runco replied to mav's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I would assume the ammo companies will prioritze its customers as follows: 1.) Federal Government 2.) State Government 3.) Local County/City Government 4.) Large non-government contracts 5.) Large consumer box stores 6.) Large internet sales stores 7.) Local Gun Stores 8.) Anyone else not mentioned Though the consumer market is likely the elephant in the room, however the government and other supply contracts are likely very consistent and can be relied upon steadily. The consumer market is more volitile and less consistent long term. If I am accurate, I would say this priority is the reason why 22 is so short. I would think that the brass sheeting suppliers out there (probably isn't too many, I would guess less than 5), are probably dedicating their brass sheeting production in the same manner to the casing stamping companies who are probably following the same priority. Thus less components for 22LR and more for government 40, 45, 9mm, 223, etc. Just my guess though. -
I do plan to be one of those buyers flushed with cash to buy at low ball offers to help my fellow man from the pain or some of the pain. My original op had a little sarcasm.

The police, prosecutor, and the whole justice system has a job to do, they must enforce the laws as they are written, however I hope the jury in this case does its job and find this father innocent of murder! At most this guy is guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Yes, involuntary, like when the hammer hits your knee, its involuntary. This tragic event had the same effect! Drunk driver hits and kills the father's children in his presence, father reacts with involuntary intent, shoots driver!

It is Spring time, and a little seeding doesn't hurt to begin the rush to sell! :stir:

Ever since the media annouced earlier this week that the federal assault weapons bill is dead, I have been watching while eating popcorn the prices of ARs in general on Gunbroker beginning to drop like lead. As a reference point, I have been watching several Colt 6920 and Sig M400 with actual bids for many months to get a feel of the GB market, and then this week these same rifles appear to be taking a plunge. See for yourself: http://www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto-Rifles/BI.aspx?Keywords=colt+6920 I would imagine the market will become very flushed with AR inventory quickly from the retailers to Jim Bob who thought he would make a quick $500 to a Grand flip. Now my dilemma, do I take advantage of Jim Bob with cash money to leverage him to a crying boy or do I just buy from the retailer. Hmmmmm. PS, I think the high capacity magazines will skyrocket soon to new levels not seen before. So I would hold on to those!

Guys, I have been forgetting to look for this, but here it is. Are you In? https://www.sigsauer.com/TeamSig/Sweepstakes.aspx

I am no economist, but I do think having large sums of "cash" is dangerous. I think owning something other than cash is wise. Property, goods, stocks, metals, etc. is more wise than having cash. Think for a moment, if cash was worthless, those other items will be worth something, maybe not cash, but something.

Have you read the Constitution of the State of Tennessee?
runco replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I found the Tennessee constitution interesting when I read it a few months ago, that is why the link is in my posts, the fine print portion. -
It does help lower the pricing of guns when Fox news is reporting that Assault weapons ban appears to be dead. Still may have some risk of high capacity magainzes, but the bill killing the so called assult weapons is dead as per commentary on Fox news this week. I look for the ARs and the alike to be plentiful real soon.

I love motorcycle riding tremendously, and I was always a very defensive driver. However, too many almost accidents that was not my fault convinced me riding motorcycles is very dangerous, and for me, the risk and reward just was not worth it, or least while I am the bread winner for my family and that I have small children. When my boys are able to make it on thier own, and my wife is financially secure with out me, I will return to riding.
