And if they did, I wish I could quit (really), but that is not reality.
-
I wish I could afford to quit my chosen job just because I didn't like the amount of pay I was receiving. Oh, wait, I can, but I can only be out of work for just a few weeks before I would be broke. So I guess I chose this career, now I have to live with the perks and consequences, unless its not too late to change my major. I wonder if my guidance counselor would see me, its been 25 years or more.

My sources are out of stock, however a quick look on ebay shows 8 listings this morning. All are bringing a premium over Midway's standard price of $18.99. Here is eBay's listing: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=lee+90046&_sacat=0&_from=R40

I was able to be at my same Wally yesterday (Friday) at the precise time from 1 week ago, ~1pm. The same man that I mentioned in my 3/31 post was there waiting at the counter to see what had came in. That is just wrong! I may have been doing it too, but I am in it for myself, not to be working for a gun store.

I have noticed several "Colt" ARs on Armslist have taken some deep dives this week. The fall locally has begun!

Letters and links are one thing, what did your business do to push back? Show us the actual invoices paid vs. the same item 3 mos ago? Is your business engaged in rebates based upon certain quantity sold? Did you market study the items with other distributors? Did you consider joining a purchasing consortium in order to leverage your supply chain? I assume your supply contract is written to prevent such increases? You do have a supply contract, right? I hope your business is not just rolling over without a fight and passing on the increase to its customers.

I assume your reference to Walmart is how they treat their suppliers. I would assume they high demands and negotiate fiercely. I also assume they have no concern if their suppliers make any money or not. This business model is what I like. It drives the supply chain to continuously improve and reduce cost in order for those businesses to make money. This is how all businesses should work. Your purchasing group should be ruthless in negotiations, and always negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. I don't care what industry you are in, you can always negotiate and leverage your supply base to reduce cost. I have been amazed at small businesses (less than 25 employees) that doesn't even try to negotiate, they are happy with their supply base, and they just accept that price increase letter, they don't leverage anything. Businesses get lazy, they just pass the buck to the next customer. Assuming the customer will pay it, then everyone is happy, happy, happy. David, I hope you know, I am not picking on you at all. I recognize you have a unique business model, with its own unique challenges and rewards. Just curious, other than your inventory, and your transportation equipment, do you have any major assets like a brick and mortar store would? I am mostly picking on those guys. Its been 20 years since I owned and operated my gun shop. What I learned there was a lot more than I ever learned in college, and it has and still helps me in my professional purchasing career even today.

I thought this was the play from the current playbook of the democrats. Take from the ones that have something, to give to the ones who don't want to work for it.

Due to Spring break this past week, I was able to be at my local Walmart around the time they put out new rifles last Friday. As I was asking the clerk if anything had come in, a man walked up toward me said "...I heard what you asked, laughing, do they have any?" While the clerk went to the back, this man called someone on his cell, and he said "...the clerk is checking, and I have 3 more stores to go today, yes I have the FedEx delivery times, do you need anything else for the shop?" The Walmart clerk came back, nothing came in. The other guy left, and I asked the clerk if she had seen that man before? She said oh yes, he comes in about every other day, and buys ammo and guns. I believe our local mom and pops are a significant contributor behind the Walmart empty shelves. These people are either on the payroll or are heavily commissioned.

We really must be stirring the pot. Foxnews is reporting that we are now sending F-22s there. I understand the psychological aspect of informing the enemy of what we are doing, but I do believe that is throwing gas on the fire. We could have quietly done this transfer of assets. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/03/31/us-reportedly-sends-f-22-jets-to-join-south-korea-drills/

I believe too! The Bible is infallible and is the inerrant word of God. Abraham's God that is! It was written by men, but inspired by God. The King James version may not be written in the original languages of the Bible, but I studied in government funded college literature, the history and development of the King James translation, that in itself was astonishing, and removes any doubt in my mind that maybe we have errors in the translation. Don't take my word for it, if you will just carefully study the science of the bible, and its history, understand how it is a collection of individual books, from vast time periods. Then stand back, and understand how the birth and death of Jesus was for told centuries before his actual birth, is astonishing. Its not written to vaguely to make it fit. You either accept that He was God in the flesh, or he was a liar, a conman, which makes him the biggest scam in mankind. As for as the age of the Earth, I don't why God created the earth that appears to a human mind to be billions of years of old, but I do know its in our nature to have concrete evidence. Do you suppose if we did uncover concrete evidence, and we penned it down what we found, 1,000 years from now, would society doubt us too? Finally, as for me, I had a life changing experience 100% tied to the Bible. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I would never go back to the life that I had before. I still make mistakes, but what happened 2,000 years or so ago today (Easter), makes my mistakes invisible to God. Its as simple as John 3:16.

I agree with this. I can only speculate that some Think Tank somewhere has predicted or showed evidence to the government of another pending financial melt down or something, and they predict urban uprising on a large scale. Disarm the populous and arm in military fashion the police. Provide urban governments with military grade guns, ammo, and vehicles. Order unheard of peace time amounts of ammo to supply the urban governments and make it impossible for the peasants to have ammo. I was prepared for the gun/ammo scare, but I am not prepared for the pending food/water scare that is pending. We are living in the calm before the storm.

Thanks, I didn't think about that.
