I posted this somewhere on TGO, but there are some folks that buy both ammo and certain firearms from Walmart and either sell to gun shops, or are agents of certain gun shops.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS HERE! Mothers day is sad day for me because I lost my mother to an automobile accident 12 years ago. For the ones that still have theirs, make sure to just hug them, appreciate them, and above all tell them you love them! I wish I could. This is me and my mother some 40+ years ago (love you mom)!: ">http://

Just as an observer and a former owner of a gun shop. These small businessmen better catch up to social media and forums such as TGO. They will make you or break you. The value stream from these outlets are REAL. People look, read, listen, etc. and form opinions without testing a product or stepping foot on their property. I know I recently read that many physicians are complaining that anyone can post anything about them on internet review boards, true or false, and it is having a sizable impact. Physicians are on to something because it is impacting their pocketbook. Besides Physicians do have a reputation about being a little sharper than most tools in the shed. Litmus test, how many of you read the reviews of items on Amazon? Ebay sellers on Ebay? How many you of grumble when you buy something on line, then days later after receipt they want your opinion of your purchase, rating, comments, and etc. I now noticed Midway does that like Amazon. I find myself leaving feedback because I appreciate what others have done before me. Maybe I am the geek, but I read reviews all the time, its just part of my due diligence. Caster's reviews of reloading equipment was extremely valuable to me 6 months ago. Just my Saturday 6am 2 cents, I need coffee.

I haven't really been creative lately on my postings, and this pondering came to me recently, so here it goes: A couple of weeks ago, I got lucky and ordered some 40 caliber bullets from Midway (180gr FMJ, 1,000 rounds) and they were delivered by the UPS man as my wife was walking out the door one evening. Of course she is one of those wives that do not fully understand my hobby and my obsession. Anyway, she casually mentioned to the UPS man in passing I guess this is another package for my husband and his other mistress, and the UPS man said yep seems like bullets to me, a lot of them. She says don’t you get tired of delivering packages to our house, and she said he just grinned and said you are not alone. That got my wheels turning, nothing against the UPS man, sure he sees a lot, but could the government in a SHTF take your guns event, turn your neighbor in event, or a Martial Law event, subpoena records from UPS on who is suspected of receiving firearms related items, i.e. shipments from Midway, Brownells, and host of other places to draw attention to someone. I wonder how long UPS keeps records of shipments TO and FROM. Could the UPS man be lawfully compelled to inform the government who on his route is suspected to be a gun nut based upon goods delivered and suspected packages? I wonder if the government version of the UPS Man, USPS Mailman, has amassed a database already of who, what, when, where and how. I wished these retailers like Midway and others would use discreet unmarked packages to lessen the raising of flags. I don’t wish to hide, but I sure don’t want to advertise either. This is not a case of being paranoid, but I do try to be mindful of my surroundings and future possibilities, and it just isn’t anyone’s business what I do, what I order, as long as it legal. Has anyone ever thought about this before? No fear here, just basic tinfoil hat thinking on a Friday night. So what say you fellow gun nutters!

I purchased my Honda EU2000 from a major Honda retailer online up North, I will try to find the business name. They were like $200 cheaper than any retailer locally, + free shipping and no other fees.

Likely need to call them: http://www.mayfielddairy.com/

Honda all the way. There is none as quiet as those, 58 dB(A). From personal experience with a 30ft camper, A/C, microwave, elec. water heater, TV, and one wife's hair drier, this will work: http://powerequipment.honda.com/generators/models/eu3000is

Brownells shipping B/O'd AR-15 Magpuls
runco replied to cannoncocker's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Honestly, I do not remember, but likely non-windowed. -
I collect Gen2s for a reason, they are like tanks! I have 5 or 6. Do you ever hear anything about Gen2s, nope! The only problem, you can't easily mount lights and other accessories as nice and tidy as Gen3 and Gen4s.

That is an excellent video. THANK YOU! for sharing. This ought to be a freedom 101 video that every elementary, high school and college student must view and be tested on! Just like Wonderful Life is on Christmas Eve, this ought to be traditional video to watch on the July 4th or something. edit what a terrific topic for my 1,000th post too!

Other than fresh pizza, I never have determined what is the fresh re-heated pizza. All pizza is the same when cold and re-heated to me. I did learn to eat cold or room temperature pizza in college. 25 years later, cold or so so, I can eat about any pizza. My wife thinks I am crazy.

I work with many yuppies that would fit the mold of the OP. For years, I have been a closet gun nut, but since Sandy Hook, I have came out, and they are shocked! "....I had no idea you were so hard core". If my employer allowed it, they would see a gun on regular basis, and I guess they would be worked in a lather of fright or become gun lovers!

1. One of my ARs 2. Granny's pressure cooker. 3. The local BBQ (seriously, that stuff is nasty and deadly, burpppp.)

In my circle of gun nut buddies, I am probably not the friend to have. I do not lend any guns to anyone. If I am shooting somewhere with someone that I know, and he wants to try my pistol, a clip or two is not a problem, I am with them, but when he asks to borrow it for a weekend, absolutely not, I don't care what he has for collateral. All my life, I have set my self up to the point I never borrow anything and I normally do the same towards others (father and brother the exception). I have seen others that borrow and lend items, and likely a 1/3 end in a argument, my stuff was damaged, are you ever going to return it, I need $100 and will pay it back, I didn't damage your stuff, etc. The anguish and unnecessary drama is not worth it. I would rather to be asked to help with a project using my hands and my tools, to lend tools and have a argument. I myself have been known to buy expensive tools for a probably a once in a life time job, so I wouldn't have to borrow it from someone, but I always use the justification with my wife as a "just in case" item.

Call me weird, this came to me yesterday while an ambulance passed me on the highway. Suppose I were to have a medical condition out in public or was involved in a auto wreck while carrying and I was either unconscious or incoherent. So what happens to my carry weapon(s)? Does the first responders check for CCW, do they discover by accident, or is this left to the ER folks to manage? Then what is the proper protocol? Also, let me add in, I am sure 99% of all first responders are 1st class and very ethical, but I have some experience of a loved one who was killed in a auto accident 12 years ago (pronounced dead at the scene) and a very pricy bracelet ($5K) on their wrist went missing from the auto accident scene and the ER. Never was found. So I would like to add this into the mix to ponder. Thanks for your input.

I enjoy selling ebay from time to time, have been doing it off and on for 10 years or so, and this past Fall I had a gun project that caused me to round up a bunch of stuff to sell. The ebay and paypal fees just take big bites out of the net fun, and that packaging thing is not me. Its not about profit for me, but cash raising campaigns with junk that I have. I have to come to realize, its better for me to load the enclosed trailer and just pull it to one of those weekend flea market places. For $10, the only fee that I will incur other than fuel, then I much prefer the face-to-face negotiations and fun. Back to the OP, if you find it fun, than do it!
