Murfreesboro DUI Checkpoint Video Making its Way Across the Web
runco replied to wewoapsiak's topic in General Chat
Just noticed channel 10 in Knoxville posted a story about this video at 3:10am this morning. This thing is gaining traction in the media. http://www.wbir.com/news/article/279539/2/Video-of-TN-DUI-checkpoint-goes-viral-on-Youtube Update, channel 6 in Knoxville has the story too: http://www.wate.com/story/22770235/dui-checkpoint-video-youtube -
Nice buy, make sure you buy one of these or something similar before your young one becomes mobile. I have 4 small children of my own, and my night stand has one of these:

No offence taken. I have gone to the beach every year since I was a teenager, and I know that tattoos were starting to come in the late 90s, but now it appears to be an explosion, everyone has one! For some reason I was at the beach just a few weeks ago, I don't recall seeing a lot of tats. But I go to Splash country, and they are everywhere.

I mean no disrespect with this posting, and I am not a Tatphobia person, but have you noticed the Tattoo explosion? I recently went to Dollywood Splash Country with my kids, and I have never ever seen so many Tattoos? I honestly felt out of place as in the minority, because I did not have any on my large blank canvas. I wanted to go out and buy a Henna tattoo or get a Sharpie just to write something on my forearm just to fit in. Now I am not talking about the roses or flowers on girls ankles, but the multiple tats that cover whole arms, backs, stomachs, and the ones that barely can be seen that go out of sight. I saw some facial tattoos, neck stuff, and a few bald headed guys with tats on the cranial areas. I think some tattoos are cool, and a few are sexy on women, but honestly I seen some DWSC that were down right awful. The homemade kind or jailhouse made stuff just looks awful. The ones that spell L-O-V-E on the knuckles of one hand and H-A-T-E on the other. And where are these young people who don't look like they have a pot to psss in, have the means to pay for these large art scenes? I am sure some have dropped $1,000s into their billboards. I am not bashing, or meaning any disrespect, its just very noticeable that the majority of the young adults have Tats. Is this just a Fad on the upswing or has the pinnacle been passed? So I guess the in thing is to have a I-phone and a tat, that appeared to be 80% of the crowd at Splash Country. There is not a Obama program for Tats is there?

I believe this is an example of where that fine line exists between constitutional rights and law enforcement just doing their job based upon experience. The dog scratches and sniff hit was just retribution for not going along with the officers commands. -
In my opinion, the tactical shotgun is a very good choice for home defense. I would imagine with the adrenaline flowing, holding a handgun in a accurate manner may be more challenging than a tactical shotgun.

The most stupid movie-firearms mistake i've ever seen.

I think manually holding the GE M134 in the 1987 movie Predator was stupid. On the other hand, I really like the guns in Act of Valor. -
I use the belt/sling with many shells.

This Swede wasn't too cool as I recall, hint Duck Dynasty (BTW nice rifle): http://

I haven't mentioned it here, thought the locals would buy it up, but Walmart Madisonville has had 40 and 45 for several days, I believe they had the 40 in 100 round value packs.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea! Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? In God We Trust This picture was taken standing on sacred ground, the Arizona Memorial looking up through the ceiling at the Flag (June 2012): http://

I have some fish oil, but I didn't know I needed to keep it safe? :yum:

Due to the weather today and the fact that I was off from work, I tried my hand at reloading 10mm for the first time. I guess I was too use to 40S&W, and actually struggled with the initial die setup. But after a few glitches, I recovered, and I reloaded 100 shells. Range brass, CCI large pistol primers, 12.2gr Accurate #9, and Rainer 180gr fmj using Lee 40S&W dies. If it rains tomorrow, I hope I can go try these at my local indoor range using my recently acquired Glock 20 Gen2. I have heard a lot about 10mm, I just have never shot one.

Its very rare that I sell guns, likely never will, mine will be heirlooms! I may have sold 1 or 2 in the past 15 years. I do still buy from time to time, and have amassed a small collection because I refuse to sell/trade based upon I don't know whose hands it will fall in. Now I do understand the TN laws on selling guns, always have. I just do not want the burden, guilty conscious, or scrutiny if one of my 4473 guns were used in a crime and I had to defend who I sold it too, even though I may have sold it legally. Now I do understand the burden to legally sell a gun from one individual to another is on the seller. To accomplish a legal transaction, the seller must ask the question, are you the buyer prohibited by law to own a gun, etc. If you do not ask, you can be both criminally liable and found civil liable! If I were to sell one of my 4473 guns, I would have paper bill of sale, DL #, and at least the question, are you prohibited from law of owning/possessing a firearm. Pending a complete financial meltdown, I will likely never sell any of my guns. Each has a story, a purpose and each is destined to one of my sons! Making $50-$100 on flipping guns here and there, just is not worth it for me, and selling one to make room for another, I just consider the risk to great. I just save my pennies for new projects or sell something in the garage on ebay to buy a new one. I may be just the odd gun nut, just my 2 cents!

Maybe I am just darn picky, there are not too many service providers of any kind that I end up happy with! I just don't use service providers anymore, unless I have to, I usually do most myself. From doing my own gunsmith work, to changing my own oil in my vehicles, heck I learned to sweat pipes to replace a hot water heater, charge my own a/c and etc. You tube is my friend on many projects, its not that I am cheap, its that I do not trust to many service providers and ones that I do, I end up very disappointed, and words are said, etc. P.S. I lied, I am a little cheap! So some of my self taught lessons from youtube is cost based!

I had 5-7 guns stolen from my shop 20 years ago. Only two have surfaced. It has been an extreme hassle to get those two back. The agency that I reported the guns stolen was very good to alert me which police dept. has them. However, there is where the trail goes strange. When I call these agencies, one in TN the other in NC, trying to get the officers to call me back was terrible, i.e. 3 months of phone tag. In fact one agency now denies they ever had the gun, while the other just does not seem interested working with me. Honestly, if these guns were worth something, I would push stronger through the chain of command, I have basically thrown in the towel, its just not worth the hassle to me. If some of the others surface, they are worth $500 ea, I would likely push and if I have to, hire an attorney. Just a bad experience! Regarding the protocol, I have used the first few digits of the serial number like was suggested. The seller was very helpful. However, just be aware sometimes some of the gun flippers have no clue who they purchased a gun from, so if the gun they are selling is hot, they will be out their investment, and they will be very cautious about giving you the whole serial number, by email or over the phone. The flippers that know who they purchased the gun from may be more cooperative since they could likely get their money back. Just my 2cents.

As much as I love Sigs, I steer away from this one. These are not made by the genuine Sig Sauer company, but rather Sig Arms, a subsidiary company of Sig Sauer.

As a former FFL, I agree 100%. 20 years for approved 4473! In fact I should have some already destroyed for myself. I started buying firearms at age 20, and that has been 25 years ago.

If wareagle had really won, there would have been posts made, the day of the notification, the day of the actual gun, pictures, etc. I am optimistic, it will be my luck, when Sig offers a Mosquito, and I will probably win that darn thing, but not the other cool stuff.

From a pure cost buildup perspective, when formulating and calculating your cost, make sure to include not only your variable cost (bullets, powder, primers), but also you have to bake in your fixed costs too (dies, press, brass prep stuff), and like most your labor is free, otherwise you have to bake that into. BTW brass would be considered a fixed cost because you can reuse it (at least I do).

If you are trying to justify the decision based upon costs, I did that for 20 years, refusing to step in the reloading mode, because I could never justify it. However, last December, I threw the cost justification out the window, and made my decision on just having the ability to reload at home and having ammo when I need it. Now $2K later, I have all that I need, and then some. I shoot a lot more, and what a fantastic hobby to have! It really is fun! I now reload 9mm, 40S&W, 45Auto, 357Sig, 10mm and 223. Over time I am going to pick up 270, 30-30, and 300 Win Mag. That should cover 100% of my current calibers.

I was at GT Distributors outside Chattanooga a couple of weeks ago, they had plenty and I mean plenty 15 rounders both new and use for the G22. New was $21 and the used may have been <$15, not sure though. You might be able to buy through their website.
