And as a follow up: http://www.khou.com/story/news/crime/2016/03/02/cameras-capture-crooks-breaking-into-gun-store/81229984/ HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Houston police and ATF agents arrested multiple people and recovered several firearms stolen from Carter's Country Guns & Ammo. New surveillance video was released Wednesday afternoon showing a gang of ten men busting into a gun store in southwest Houston. The men, who are still on the run, smashed open cases with a hammer and ransacked the place, filling bags with guns and ammo. The whole thing only took a little more than 2 minutes. The surveillance videos begin just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Ten suspects, using hoodies masks and gloves to conceal their identities, break the front doors of Carter’s Country gun store on Wilcrest near Southwest Freeway. Less than 30 seconds later one of them uses a pickup with chains to pull the security bars right off, and the others rush in. KHOU HPD: Guns stolen in smash and grab at Carter's Country Video shows the suspects smashing the glass cases with hammers and jumping over the counter, grabbing long rifles by the armful and throwing handguns and ammo into bags. Just over a minute after running into the store, they run out and are gone. Police say the suspects switched vehicles about a block away and sped off in a Chevy SUV. The ATF, who is investigating the case alongside Houston police, told KHOU on Tuesday that smash and grabs like this one are on the rise around Houston. Thieves often sell the guns to other criminal groups for a profit, and they’re often used in other, more violent crimes.

That's no ordinary donkey, its the democratic donkey! That's just like a democrat to ride the military's back! They sure are not out front or carrying a weapon!

How would that look on my wife's mini van. I already have the specialty plate from the NRA, which supports a shooting team I think somewhere in TN.

I heard Sevierville was getting one soon.

I change often, I must be the weird one. Sometimes I like the various Glocks, others the various Sigs, and then there is the 1911 and the Beretta. I believe my team of rotation has feelings, and if they don't get love, then they may not function when needed.

I like those pack of parts like orings, springs, cotter pins, nuts, bolts, and etc. Just bought a grinder stand this past weekend.

I saw this on another forum, and actually after reading through was quite informative. So what are your Harbor Freight Successes and what has failed you miserably?

I shared this story with folks at work. For an hour people were dying of laughter reading Amazon reviews. I also considered buying the 5lb bag as a dirty santa gift with a group I belong too, but I was afraid I would dehydrate those old gizzards.

I just watched an older Gunsmoke show on Youtube with George Kennedy. I truly liked him. I always liked his grin as the observer in the movie Dirty Dozen as he rode alone the ambulance.

And I felt bad a few months back for ousting Hickok45's name. That's childs play, compared to the comments in this thread.

Gun Auction, Monroe County Sheriffs Dept Feb 13th 10am

Agree about 1968 and I didn't see any receivers in that picture, did you? Barrels and stocks don't require s/n even post 1968. I say the real story, a gun store about 8 miles up the street was awarded the FFL transfer price @ $20 per gun regardless of if the buyer bought 1 or 10 guns. There were roughly 275 guns sold, so that is roughly $5500, at minmum they kept 1/2 that amount for the 4473 paperwork stuff. Not too bad a rake. So this gun shop who is owner by former sheriff's dept employees probably had multiple motivations to contact the Knoxville newstation just a few days before election time. -

UPDATE See if you can find gun ignorance or plain stupidity and politics in this story. BTW, local sheriff up for reelection this year with Mar 1 just a few days away: http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Monroe-Co-Sheriff-sells-firearms-without-serial-numbers-to-local-gun-shop-370175571.html Monroe Co. Sheriff sells firearms without serial numbers to local gun shop Monroe Co. Sheriff sells firearms without serial numbers to local gun shop By Lauren Davis | It's election time and the mud is slinging. A local gun store admits to buying guns without serial numbers. And they say the Monroe County Sheriff is the one who sold them. Ray Kough with self defense solutions shows me parts of four guns that he bought from Sheriff Tommy Jones. The guns are all shotguns, and they came from the evidence locker at the sheriff's office. We obtained a check for 200 dollars that Self Defense Solutions wrote to the Monroe County Sheriff's department for the guns. Ray Kough says, "They weren't going to be resold. We just wanted them for guns and the other parts were given back to the sheriff's office to be destroyed." Self Defense Solutions is owned and operated by reserve deputies with the county. A person who used to work for the sheriff's office who was laid off last June, says this is unethical at the least. He says, "They're on a buddy system and they'll do anything to help out their buddy. That's what they're going to do." We asked Self Defense Solutions if this is the first time they purchased guns from the sheriff's office. Ray Kough says, "This was actually uh one time that we did it." That doesn't matter to the former sheriff employee. He says, "I'd like to see him prosecuted. There isn't gray area when it comes to law." We talked to the sheriff and he tells Local 8 he had a court order to sell those particular guns without a serial number. -
Best place to shoot?.................hmmm.................Some would argue 23rd and Dodds on Friday and Saturday nights, Alton Park area. Maybe Missionary Ridge? Lots of shooting there, must be great!!! :hiding:

I know there is a thread on One in the Pipe, but here is a story of a local news event from Friday night of where one was not in the Pipe and saved the life of a officer because her gun was loaded. Over-all the story is tragic for the teen, but could have been a murder and then suicide. http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Escaped-Blount-County-teen-found-dead-according-to-deputies-369523741.html KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The body of a 16-year-old boy who deputies say attacked a juvenile corrections officer and escaped was found Saturday morning, according to Blount County Sheriff's Office. Joseph Dillon French was found around 8:30 a.m. by a local resident who was out taking pictures on the Greenbelt near Church Street. Blount County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Marian O'Briant said it appears he died of a self-inflicted gunshot. French's death is being investigated by the Blount County Sheriff's office and the Maryville Police Department. French was accused of using a toilet lid to attack the officer. He then stole the officer's gun and shot at her but the gun did not go off. Investigators say the gun didn't go off because there was no bullet in the chamber, but it did have a loaded magazine when French took it. O'Briant said the officer was injured and taken to U.T. Medical Center. She was released Friday night with staples in her head but no concussion. Investigators followed multiple leads overnight to locate the missing teen
