I take racial offence to the "crackers", is this where we find greasy hamburgers, pizza, biscuits, grits, and gravy in the store?

Had an interesting conversation with my mother this evening

hmmmm, okay. -
I know that Brownings are not in your price range, but tid bit of a story. 6-7 Years ago, I got into sporting clays. Started off with a Remington 1100 that I soon realized that I was at a disadvantage with the chokes. So I purchased a Browning 525 Citori. My brother at about the same time bought a Ruger Red Label. My gun has had over 10,000 rounds, and is as tight today as it was when new. My brother's Red Label, not as many rounds as mine, but probably greater than 1,000 rounds, is not as tight as new, and loose in the receiver area, however still a good gun, but one would say broken in well. Don't know if that matters to you.

Michelins or nothing at all!

I have been thinking about one myself. The best deal that I have found is @ Midway: Eotech 512 @ $425 & free shipping + I have coupon code for $30 off from Midway = $395 delivered. Amazon has some deals as well, but the above is the best I have found, I have been thinking of pulling the trigger for a month now. Ebay has some too, but I am to concerned about the knockoffs risk on ebay! Used for items like this is not my preferred cup of tea.

OK, time to talk about the Kenya mall shooting a bit
runco replied to vontar's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
When the news broke about the mall in Kenya, I thought to myself that was a rehearsal of what will happen in in the future here. With Black Friday just about 8 weeks away, just think of the carnage of a fully packed mall in the USA with 4-5 guys with AKs or something similar. -
I have bought several from GB through the years. Usually its on the seller side, being slow to ship. However, when received at my local FFL, usually same day service of receipt of the item and able to complete the transaction to take the item home. Remember it has to do when the seller shipped the item, the time of day UPS delivers the item, and how promptly the FFL records the item in their books, makes the phone call to you and of course their hours of operations.

The Oil filter wrench Wyldk2 showed above is very handy, but I have actually had some problems with it not working on the hardest to remove filters. Before I re-dove into guns again, I had a about a 8 year obsession into automotive hand tool collecting thingy. One of my tools, is a very large (and I mean large) Craftsman slip joint pliers or channel locks. They are about 20-24" long have a mouth capacity of 8-10". These have been the best tool for removing cranky oil filters. I have not had one filter that was too tight that this thing and my grip muscle would not handle. To make them work, you have to have the right angle and death grip. Usually the oil filter is squeezed so tight, they buckle. These may be discontinued now, because I can't find any on Sears.com. I am sure there are some knockoffs out there. BTW the chisel thing and air hammer thing will work, just don't let it slip into your oil pans, oil filter threads on your block or any other vital items. Chisels, hammer and pneumatics I have had some bad experiences of damaging other things in my experience.

On this rainy Saturday, is this show worth a hour & 1/2 drive?

That is Great News! Parents of adopted children are very special and have a very special parental love that parents of biological children do not have. Parents of adopted children have a choice, whereas parents of a biological children do not. I believe this choice makes these special parents different in a loving way. May God bless you and your family!

I like this thread. Me and the kids watched The Final Countdown this past week. Imagine a modern U.S. Carrier back in 1941. Do you know the movie came out 40 years after Pearl Harbor, and its been 32 years since that movie came out. Wow, how time flies. The kids now want to watch Tora, Tora, Tora, that will be this weekend.

Who watches TV the old fashioned way for free and not cable ?
runco replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
I am now 30+ days without cable/satellite, after a 13 year run with satellite. Best decision I have made in awhile, and the decision was driven by cost, the channels we mostly watched and the content that my kids may see or could see on TV. I do miss football and Fox news at night, but life is not perfect. I have found that A&E, History, and few others have their episodes available the very next day via their web site. I have my living room tv hooked up to my computer, so I watch these shows. I don't have Netflix, but I do have Amazon Prime instant videos, very similar to Netflix. Kids love Gilligans island and is a regular show we watch now, even though the show is close to 50 years old, my kids laugh, sing along the intro song, and just love the show. So out with Sponge Bob, and in with Gilligan, the skipper too, the millionaire, and his wife, the mooovie star, the professor and Mary Ann........ -
I will not forget. It seems this is the first year since 9/11 that I have heard less on the radio, tv or read in the newspapers about remembering this somber event. I have heard more about remembering Bengazi than 9/11/2001! 12 years ago today, I was sitting at my desk at work, and collegue leaned over and said a plane had hit the Trade Center. My first innocent thoughts was I wonder is it very foggy in NY, and that is why a plane hit the building? Little did I know within an hour my initial thoughts my innocence was shattered! http://

My 22 bolt action rifles are very accurate, and a very nice looking rifles: >Remington 541S >Remington 541T HB >Savage-Anschutz 54 Sporter My father and his buddy (in their mid 70s) shoot once a week against one another for lunch, and he swears by his Mossberg 46B. They sandbag, table top, wear drug store reading glasses, and they shoot dime size groups or less at 50 yards. Some weeks they shoot with scopes and some weeks they shoot open sights. They shoot about 100 rds a week. Fortunately, I bought them a case of 5,000 rounds each in November 2012, and they are just about out. My dad has tried my rifles, and others, and he currently has a CZ 452 that I bought him 20 years ago, and still swears by his Mossberg. He is a cranky ole fart too.

One argument I haven't seen, is carpal tunnel. I use to work in the cut-n-sew industry, basically the same industry that makes any thing that is cut from rolls of material and sew into a pattern. Anyway, in the late 80s, this industry's was rampant with carpal tunnel complaints and lawsuits. So it may not be 100% on the backs of government, but individual lawsuits that ran this industry out of town. BTW I wonder how many people reading this post is reading it using a made in the USA computer screen, made in USA hand held device, etc. If you do have one, please share with me the name. One more BTW, how many of us scrutinize our 401K mutual funds to make sure we are not partaking in the profits from any industry that uses made in over seas products? Hmmmm. Its easy to identify a shirt label, but when it really counts in our own pocket, do we use the same scrutiny and deep dive analysis of our own actions. If we are going to complain, attempt to lead by example, lead in all things, not just the easy stuff. Just saying.....I hate it too, but its the world we live in.

I know I am in the minority, but its rare that I make a purchase at any brick and mortar stores for any merchandise due to issues like above and plus I don't want the hassle. If it wasn't for perishable groceries, I would buy them online too. Only internet retailers, local restaurants, gas stations and on an occasion Armslist/Craigslist gets my money. Maybe society doesn't want me or my money anymore. When the UPS man says that he can't deliver unless my door has a gun buster sticker, then I know the SHTF has truly happened in my world.
