I bought a Emerson on Black Friday 2 years ago from Walmart <$150, and it has worked perfectly, and is used quite regularly. I would recommend this close to this year's black Friday, to wait for the best deal. Don't forget to look at tigerdirect for good deals. http://www.tigerdirect.com/

Very interesting, I understand corp. America takes facebook postings of their stores seriously. That might be an option to get some real traction since the manager didn't seem to be to interested. On the other hand, how many folks likely call each day, they could be very numb and calloused to the customer service thingy on the phone. In all I think you did the right thing.

I am on a 5 man team tomorrow at the Kylie Hurst Fund Raiser at the Chilhowee Sportsman Club (Blount Co), anyone else shooting in this event? Lunch is at 11am and the shooting begins I think at 12:30pm. More information: http://www.chilhoweesportsmansclub.com/cscshoots.htm Gosh, I haven't shot clays in almost a year.

Knoxville Gun Show - Thanksgiving weekend
runco replied to GoneBallistic's topic in Events and Gatherings
Isn't this the 3 day show, unless you pay the extra, you can only go the one day, the stamp doesn't work for the extra days. Is that correct? -
I have the golden rod or equivalent, and a hygrometer to measure the humidity as well. My safe came with an wire accessory hole in the back for both my installed extra lights, and golden rod. My safe is on a hardwood floor, and we did use felt on the floor as a way to keep the safe from marking the floor when we scooted it into final position. Then we simply trimmed the access felt away, and the safe footprint is still on the felt. And most important, I have my safe bolted through the floor using 3/4 diameter case hardened bolts, the carriage head type, so someone from underneath the floor could not easily grip the bolts, plus one extra step, instead of using washers underneath the floor, I used a large steel plate, and then I tacked welded the bolts to the plate.

Don't boil Simple Green to degrease a gun on the stove, or the 2nd time in the attached garage. What a stink (THAT LINGERS)!

Somehow I missed this thread a few months ago. Probably thought it was related to Remington Core Lokt or something. I must have been under a rock, and I am just now learning about this curriculum. How the states are being financially led to adopt this federally pushing curriculum, a play from the Federal Highway Administration playbook on how to control the states through federal funding or no federal funding What I am hearing in my circle (not reading yet, that is why I want to get involved) is actually what has already been posted by LukeE about: Their main objective is to get ALL schools running the same curriculum, the very curriculum that they have control of, mark my words, the day they have everyone on the same page will be the day they start cramming the curriculum full of anti god, gay and lesbian and islamist BS. If you have children or grandchildren in school, I recommend you learn all there is to know about Common Core, like I am. However, if you have no problem with society today, just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Trying to play the Walmart .22 game
runco replied to theTastyCat's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I understand that Bass Pro is a very successful place to buy 22 ammo. My retired dad who was too cranky to join the 7am club at Walmart, instead joined the 9am Bass Pro club. He has been quite successful with CCI, his preferred brand. BTW - Many many flea markets in the Knoxville area have 22 ammo, wonder if their supply chain is better than Walmart. Hmmmm. One more Sherlock Holmes observation, those flea marketeers appear old enough to be retirees from somewhere. Hmmmmm. -
Guilty, I am a wackier! :screwy: I have seen the secular world argue this before about the 6K year old planet. This is not Bible, but what if, what if, God created the world as a he wanted to, not a brand new place, but something that mankind would think is older? You know when I was growing up mankind thought there were only 8 planets, then there was 9, and I have lost count. That man science sure is ironclad! I still think there are other agendas, hmmmm? Too much passion the other way.

I for one believe the bible is infallible and is the word of God. No ifs, no ands, and no butts. I am not going to try to convince anyone who is not interested, but I do know what a life changing event that I personally have had by trusting in the Bible and accepting what Jesus has done for me. I am amazed about the energy and effort society pours out to quickly disrespect the bible. When I read something that I honestly don't care for, I don't read it, let alone spend energy to think and type about it! Makes one wonder if there are other agendas at work, hmmmm? Since I have your time in reading my piece, to a non-believer, if one would truly and honestly just study the science of the bible, its origins, the books contained therein, when those books were written, one would understand its no coincidence, and its no fluke, and though it may be penned by man, but most assured those men were inspired by God. I once read somewhere about the odds of Jesus being just a man and that he coincidentally fulfilled old testament prophesies written 500+ years before he was born, is like finding 1 gold coin in an area the size of Texas filled with coins to 40 feet tall, and dropping someone at random somewhere in this area, and that someone reached down in the exact precise spot and found the one gold coin. Either Jesus is who he says he was, or he is the biggest liar and scam artist of humankind!

Just a reminder to you, Amazon will begin collecting Tennessee Sales Tax beginning January 1, 2014. Though I am sure everyone voluntarily pays that now, you will not have to be reminded beginning in January, Amazon will take that burden from you. My Amazon Prime membership is in jeopardy, I really like those voluntary choices and forms! http://www.nooga.com/164147/amazon-will-collect-sales-tax-starting-in-january/ http://consumerist.com/2013/02/01/amazon-e-mailing-tennessee-residents-to-remind-them-of-sales-tax-obligation/ http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2013/09/04/amazon-can-support-the-internet-sales-tax-because-amazon-is-exempt/ http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/20937402/tns-amazon-customers-required-to-pay-taxes

It began with motorcycle helmets, then seat belts, over taxed tobacco, forced auto insurance, forced health insurance, now a food, I'm tired of this new freedom!

I have owned many of these combo guns in my life. I currently have one in the safe, its at 22magnum over 20 gauge. I think Savage has had 90%+ of the market on these guns for last 60 years. If you are going the used route, you looking for model 24 which likely comes in 30+ different variants. Great guns, likely the best squirrel gun ever made. For some reason there is a glut of these in the local flea markets. 410/22LR is the most sought after version, but there are others. I think you can even buy a new one at Walmart in the black synthetic stock, I still think the model is 24, or it may be new number. Likely price is $250 - $350 range. There are some older ones with plastic stocks that are in $175-$225 range.

The next time I think I have a pain in the a$$, I will have to remember this story. Talk about a bad day, this was a whopper!

I don't often sing the praise for businesses, but for Midway only the excellence with customer service. I know in the past two years, I may not have sent Larry's kids to school, but I probably did pay for a many hunting trips that Larry and his wife made this year.

The Frogman version I understand is the gold standard, but I am not expert. In fact I just wear the simple Wally Iron Man.

I have often thought this too. How easy would it be to a load a gun while at a gun show.
