Truth to be known, this is probably more of a public tactic to leverage UPS or FedEx shipping rates between Amazon and the carriers. If anyone is going to develop these, likely it would be UPS since they are the ones that would lose revenue in this situation. Just like Walmart leveraged Master Card rates, Amazon is probably leveraging UPS.

I do a lot a business travel for the company, I always have a rental car. To be honest, I have never had a bad customer experience maybe because my company is a major customer to them. We use National, Budget, Enterprise, and Avis mostly. My company has never used Hertz, hmmmm probably because they are too expensive. Now having said that, I was on personal vacation in October in San Diego. I rented a car from Budget, drove 9 miles to my hotel, and the very next morning, I had a flat tire waiting on me. Called the agency, asked they come out and repair it, they said no since I did not buy the roadway hazard, said it would be $250, so I said no, and changed the tire myself with the tiniest doughnut you ever did see. Budget did tell me to bring the car in and exchange it. So I did, but while there, the attendant said I need to see the manager, and the manager gave me a piece of paper to fill out, then he said it would be $35 for the tire repair to plug the nail. I asked why, he said since I did not buy the hazard plan, that I was 100% responsible for the tire. So I had a choice argue it and still pay the $35, or just pay the $35. So I paid and went on my way. In the end, I noticed this Budget was not a corporate owned facility, but rather a franchise owned facility, and I chalked this experience up to the gotcha slick used car tactics. This was my one and only bad experience in over 250 car rentals in the past 20 years.

I really liked that.

Seems like I am getting a lot of help! I will keep trying. I found this place, Grabagun, out of Texas, that has the Eotech 512 for $360.88 +$5.99 shipping, that's $306.87 delivered after the rebate. Does anyone here ever used that retailer before? http://grabagun.com/eotech-512-tactical-std-aa-bttry.html?gclid=CM-JqJjNjLsCFSEV7AodvmkArw I have googled "grabagun reviews" and a few message boards popped up, but not to many, 1911forum, springfield xds, and a NY gun forum. I was hoping for more reviews like from AR15forums, Glockforums, or even here.

I didn't have that experience this year!

Business decisions are based upon on risk and reward principals. If this guy had a 3rd party financing, he likely had insurance, and is probably out the deductible only, and the ATF forms and report he must make for the loss of the inventory. If this guy finance his own inventory, and he had no insurance, then I would assume his judgment for not having any, is now forever changed. I would assume the investment for inventory safes now is whole lot clearer than 3 days ago. What we don't know is, was this 10 guns, 50 guns, etc. If 10 guns, the loss is likely ~$4K, but if 50 guns, the loss is more like ~$20K. If 10 guns, and the annual premium on insurance is $5K, then likely its not in his best interest to have insurance, but if 50 guns, likely good to have.

Thanks for sharing. My dad usually was working on Thanksgiving Day, but when I was a teenager, my best friend's family went hunting on Thanksgiving Day, and I jointed right in. Come to think of it, I don't think we ever killed anything, just hanging out, talking B.S. stuff, and standing around the truck drinking coffee in the woods, was what I remember, and having a rifle or shotgun in your hand was mandatory!

124gr hydro shoks in most guns that I have, then I have one that has the +P+ just for kicks and giggles!

I would have purposely laughed to let him see me laughing, and showed him my cell phone, and pretend to call the police and take a picture of his license plate. That's just me, it works, and it has worked on me before in the reverse.

Knoxville Gun Show - Thanksgiving weekend
runco replied to GoneBallistic's topic in Events and Gatherings
I like to go, but I don't need anything. Let me see 90 mile round trip, $20 in diesel, gate fee ~$10, less $2 coupon, $8 drive through meal, $36, and buy nothing, guess not this time! -
Its been 2 years at least since I even went into their store. Its been longer than that since I purchased anything! I can say that about Dicks too! But not my beloved Bass Pro. Bought several $9.99 50 caliber ammo cans yesterday evening! With many more remaining!

I just read this story, bad luck for the owner and the new store!

Amazon has the 512 for $393 before the $60 rebate ($333 delivered after rebate). Has anyone seen any better deal today or expect one this weekend for the Eotech 512. I wanted to wait until Black Friday to pull the trigger. I have searched many places, and thought GT Dist. may have the best deal with their 10% off everything, but during the checkout, the coupon code would not work. Any help would be appreciated.

I use to work in Surgeon's ville 25 years ago . For the ones that don't know, most people out of town especially the ones born above Jellico Mtn called it that! But its actually pronounced Sir-goins-ville, and welcome to the site! FYI the Phipps Bend park, is a site to behold of government waste!

I either once read here or somewhere, the owner of Knife Works and Buds are best buds. I would assume the foot traffic would increase in Sevierville location vs. Lexington, but I would assume this would be store #2.

I am not a knife guy, have a small case peanut that I carry, but I received this in my email today, its a contest of winning knives (I think), enjoy: http://www.midwayusa.com/sweepstakes?cm_mmc=pe_Tier2-_-Knives_Tools-_-Sweepstakes_20131119-_-Main_Image&cm_mmca1=runco0318@tds.net&cm_mmca2=CustNum=103284678 ">http://

For this amount of money, I would get what "I" wanted. Otherwise, you will always be curious. Sometimes, I just buy the two competing models, to settle the dispute amongst myself. That way I leave no room for unhappiness other than the bank account or wife.
