When it comes to terrorist captured on foriegn soil while trying to kill us.... you interrogate them in the field and use whatever means necessary to find out what they know... then shoot them while they are trying to escape.

I know how to use guns; but I don't own one
Q: Tell us about your gun collection, roughly how many you own, what your favorite make, model and caliber is, if any of them require a tax stamp? A: For a long time I used a lot of guns, including carrying a .45 as a pilot flying in combat over Vietnam. I know how to use guns. I don't own one now.
Source: 2007 GOP YouTube debate in St. Petersburg, Florida Nov 28, 2007

Prosecute criminals, not citizens for gun ownership
John McCain believes that the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms is a fundamental, individual Constitutional right. We have a responsibility to ensure that criminals who violate the law are prosecuted to the fullest, rather than restricting the rights of law abiding citizens. Gun control is a proven failure in fighting crime. Law abiding citizens should not be asked to give up their rights because of criminals--criminals who ignore gun control laws anyway.
Source: Campaign website, www.johnmccain.com, "Issues" Sep 1, 2007

Don't hold gun manufacturers liable for crimes
John McCain opposes backdoor attempts to restrict Second Amendment rights by holding gun manufacturers liable for crimes committed by third parties using a firearm, and has voted to protect gun manufacturers from such inappropriate liability aimed at bankrupting the entire gun industry. The petition complained that McCain was disloyal to the President, especially in voting against his tax bill, and it also complained about his proposal to close the gun show loophole. One form of the petition accused him of backing "dishonest and treasonist" legislation. Several of the petitions were posted at gun shops. The NRA was particularly angry with him for its being included in his campaign finance reform bill, and for trying to tighten a loophole in the gun control laws. McCain himself was sufficiently concerned that he sent a 4-page, single-spaced letter to every GOP precinct leader in Arizona. He called for "greater tolerance" for Republicans "who occasionally dissent" from one or another majority position held by a party. He explained his vote against Bush's tax cut and talked about the need to build up national defense, about his work on the patients' bill of rights, and the gun show loophole.
Source: Citizen McCain, by Elizabeth Drew, p. 78-79 May 7, 2002

Ban cheap guns; require safety locks; for gun show checks
McCain favors outlawing cheaply made handguns called Saturday night specials, and favors mandating safety locks on certain guns. But the Senator opposed the two major gun-control measures of recent years, the 1994 ban on several types of assault weapons and the Brady Bill, which required a 5-day waiting period for handgun purchases.
Source: Todd S. 1st of all, the NRA is really the only way to go to support gun rights, they are the only ones really doing anything on a National Level... that said we sure could use some help here in Tennessee. I'm a member, have been and plan on always being. Now on the election, no gun owner, nor real American in their right mind should vote for Obama... period... He has no positive qualities to fill the position at all, and no record to show what little he has done. On the other side McCain is the only option out there, btw ... What legislation and exactly when has Mccain voted against gun owners?

hey, I got a shipment of them coming in this week.... 1st come 1st served.

Police serving warrants in the middle of the night
GLOCKMEISTER replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
all I can say is if there are warrants being served late at night or early in the morning there is usually a reason for it, and its usually not handled by a podunked Dept. -
actually McCain isnt that bad on gun control, when it matters he votes with gun owners. If Obama gets elected....gunowners are screwed and I'll sell the Hell out of guns till they dry up... and are gone.

You basically have two very liberal Judges that will have to retire if they dont die on the bench in hte next 4-8 years... 1 for sure. Judge John Paul Stevens.... 88 years old. Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg... 75 years old
-
what you guys better be thinking about is the Supreme Court Judges that Obama would replace. Also what executive orders he could sign pertaining to guns that could change the industry, without a vote of congress. Its all about voting against Obama at this point.

+1 Night sights are a must, lasers are useless in a real life Self Defense Combat situation...they are simply toys for the cat. Tactical light is a plus if you train with it. Folks lets be real, most of the situation where you will need a handgun for self defense will take place at night. Its imperative you have a complete sight picture for your first accurately placed shots. Night Sights are a must to achieve this. After that you should have muzzle flash that will limit your vision very briefly, so those first shots count. You should also be moving at this point because you have given away your position, a trained individual will shoot back toward your muzzle flash. What I recommend is repetitive training in extreme low light situations, or flashing lights... whatever a probable situation might dictate. If you are going to have a flashlight available at all times, then train with it... but don't become dependant on it. In short I'm not depending my life on any "device" that can be "turned off" or can be "battery dead"... or can be easily knocked off or covered up. Training is the most important thaing you can do.

Woo-hoo - took the CCW course/test today!

Any vote for the Dem ticket is a vote against America, if they win you can expect the entrance of pure socialism. The things they want to do about health care in itself scare me to death. Give the government control ... please? If you want to see how that would work go and visit a Veterans Hospital... thats Government controlled health care at its finest. I'm voting for McCain, and I'll hold my nose while I do it... I really think a DEM in the oval office would kill this country. Hopefully McCain will pick a good vp candidate, if he goes Romney I think all may be lost. The smart pick would probably be Charlie Crist of Florida, that is if he's still popular down there. That would put to bed carrying that state at the last minute like we've been worried about in the past.
-
if you do, dont tell anyone about it... if you do you will have new friends coming in to shoot that you have never met.
-
Thats nothing... I get calls 2-3 times a day asking ... "Do you guys sell guns"????
-
btw.... if you guy's non arguments are valid, then that would mean all Highway Interstates are technically under control of the U.S. Dept Of Transportation Federal Highway Administration... so all the Interstates would be "federal property" meaning you couldnt carry/transport a firearm on them either??? Just trying to get you guys to see this from my side...

So basically, like I said State and Local laws apply, and are enforced by State and Local Law Enforcement officers. See... ( These state and local laws and ordinances are enforced by those state and local enforcement agencies established and authorized for that purpose. Now on actual Dam premises, which is btw real federal property, which also BTW is what the Army is calling the "Water Resources Development Project"... in civilian terms we call it... the Damned DAM! I wouldn't carry. So guys, instead of looking up 8 year old stuff on the web, pick up the phone and call TWRA, USCG, and USACOE. Me, I have called all of them and also have Written documentation provided by the appropriate Law Enforcment Agency that would be involved in effecting any arrest on these waterways.... so in short, Im carrying, period!
