Libertarian Party ... How I Wish....
GLOCKMEISTER replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
you vote anything but GOP this time around and you will be part of a Socialist state in three years. -
neither... I dont want a level of force continuum to deal with... if they need to be shot, Im shooting!
-
she probably does all together.
-
no biggie, I just dont like being called classless.
-
I didnt even see it... but have now, and yes it was photoshopped.
-
Sorry if I offended you, but I dont see how my comment was classless. If there are photos, thats about the only thing the left can hold against her. That was a factual statement. I have actually met her and shes one of the most outgoing professional women I can think of. So please tell me what was classless so I dont make the same mistake twice!

NUDE PHOTOS MAYBE??? I know ya'll were thinking that!

Let me start by saying we've been selling these stickers locally, to police only, for about 8 years. When I was a police officer I never had one on my vehicle, and wouldnt suggest you put one on yours either. Back in the day noone knew what they meant, no everyone does... including gang members and such. It was meant as a way to identify a police officer from a distance. So if you get pulled over, and you dont have a badge it isn't going to help you. Unfortunately it will probably offend the officer that you have it and you will get the max. Also, I know of numerous cars being keys and tires slashed that have had those stickers, FOP plates, and such. Either way, its not a good idea.

Gallatin Police Department Sitting on $1500 1911
GLOCKMEISTER replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You will get it back... Its just taking time. The deal is they are running a complete trace on the 1911. They shouldnt, but some dept's run them on every gun they come in contact with. If you want, PM me your name and some info and I can make a call or two. But I honestly think it will be resolved rather quickly. -

I buy guns from several pawn shops and we have gotten our share of loaded ones from them.... and they supposingly check them too.
-
well had a guy come in this evening... he had a 22 rifle for sale, and before I could get it from him he swept the entire store while he was saying ... "It isnt loaded"... well I finally got it, checked it... and sure enough it was loaded to the gills. Some people are just plain stupid!!!!

Gallatin Police Department Sitting on $1500 1911
GLOCKMEISTER replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
but remember, there is no way to run a HCP by itself, its the same as the DL number... so thats what the officer ran, and the status came back as cancelled. Dispatch is very limited to what they see regarding HCP information. Its on the same screen as the DL info. -

CCW coarse Nashville Female instructor?
GLOCKMEISTER replied to willis68's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
no one in the Nashville area has a female instructor on staff, as far as I know. I will say about 50% of our students are female so we must be doing something right. -

honestly, the officer didnt HAVE TOO take possession of the gun. He could have let him simply unload it and take it with him. Its up to the officers discretion to determine what action to take. Its like a DL being screwed up, and you can clearly see its the states fault, or a tag not being in the system correct... doesnt mean you have to make an arrest and tow the vehicle. Overall the officer did his job and acted appropriately, but he could have given the kid a break too. On the situation and showing the permit, well.. as gung ho as some of the officers that work in Sumner County are... if he hadnt told him, the officer might have seen it and stuck a gun in his face, then it might have been allot worse. Ask Steelharp how they can be. So who knows??? -
I agree... Tell ya what Im going to do. I think Im just going to scrap off the 16 year old sign period and hope people will use some common sense. We'll see how it goes. Thats probably the best thing to do. I also have to scrap off the no smoking sign too, since its not relevant anymore. Any other input or ideas would be appreciated.
-
Yep, your right... and if you dont train them on how to unload it in a bbl or device... then your still upa creek. I think Im just going to put up a sign that says all firearms have to be checked by a staff member. It then covers everyone. That way if a HCP holder comes in they just have to notify, and we can handle each case as we see fit. If a HCP comes in, them just telling us is fine... we will respond, "hey just keep it holstered"... or something to that effect. If they need to try it in a holster then they need to let us clear it. Anyone have a problem with that? Im up for more suggestions....

This kids got some crazy luck, I bet his Indian name is "Chief Dark Cloud"... I can see a little rain cloud following him everywhere he goes. Anyway, it only takes about 2 minutes to run a stolen ck, however it might take months to run a full ATF trace. In any event, he's lucky he didn't go to jail and get his truck towed, that officer could have handled it in an extreme way. I think it was handled professionally. I see where Safety kinda dropped the ball, however he moved... and when you move you have to make sure you get everything in order before you move again. Chalk it up to "Shiet happens"... it could have been worse, and move on. -
I do have one question... just for giggles, What if we (shop owners) put up the sign "inviting" customers to carry. Wouldn't that make our liability go up if something went down? Wouldnt it be in the shop owners best interest just to not post anything?
