Worst Case Scenario (hypothetically speaking)
GLOCKMEISTER replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
worst case would be a 168 grain 7.62 meeting them at the end of the driveway.... in both cases the day ends bad... -
I'm thinking about getting a .223, any recommendations?
GLOCKMEISTER replied to a topic in Long Guns
get and AR, everyone should own at least one of them. -
heres the actual email I got about it yesterday... Ruger has recently received a small number of reports from the field indicating that LCP pistols can discharge when dropped onto a hard surface with a round in the chamber. We are firmly committed to safety and would like to retrofit all older LCP Pistols. The retrofit involves installation of an upgraded hammer mechanism at no charge to the customer. We want to remind gun users that, for maximum safety when carrying any pistol with a loaded magazine in place, the chamber should be empty, and the slide should be closed. Any gun may fire if dropped or struck. How to determine if your pistol needs the retrofit: All LCP pistols bearing prefix “370” (that is, serial number 370-xxxxx) may be affected. Newly manufactured and retrofitted “370” prefix LCP pistols with the new hammer mechanism installed have been marked with a diamond in the flat portion of the slot just behind and below the hammer as show to the right. Going forward, new pistols will be marked with the serial number prefix “371” (serial number 371-xxxxx). Pistols with the “371” prefix are not affected. How to arrange to have your pistol retrofitted: Step 1 - Contact us and provide your name, address, telephone number and LCP serial number. To sign up for the FREE safety upgrade: Click Here to sign up immediately using the on-line form. You may also sign up by using any of these alternative methods: E-mail: LCPRecall@ruger.com Fax: (928) 541-8873 Phone: LCP Recall Hotline 1-800-784-3701 (available Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EDT) Step 2 - The new parts are being built and we will retrofit LCP pistols on a first-come, first-served basis as soon as they are available. When we are ready to retrofit your pistol, we will send you a shipping label and package with instructions so you can return your pistol to us FREE of charge. Step 3 - We will install the new hammer mechanism, plus some other functional upgrades that we added since the LCP’s introduction, and return your LCP to you, all FREE of charge. When we do, we also will send you a FREE magazine with the new finger grip extension as a “thank you” for your patience and cooperation. We will make every effort to return your pistol within one week of receipt. Thank you, Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc.

one things for sure, Len... you really know how to start a shiet storm. One thing I will say, when the Obamanation/Revolution comes... I want you on my side, but you will have to ditch those liberal leaning tendencies. :-)

well two points here... 1st: I think all 10/22 barrels are stainless, unless WallyWorld has bought some cheaper version. I'd look at it closer... or have him bring it by our store and I can tell him real quick. 2nd: And Im not trying to be a smartazz, but thats what he gets buying it from WallyWorld... their customer service and customer satisfaction sucks.

yea, dude without seeing it ... its going to be really hard to tell what it really is.

Can I carry in Thompson Bowling Arena?
GLOCKMEISTER replied to PackinMama's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
you know your going to have black choppers hovering around your house now... right? -
Welcome to the board... keep your powder dry!!!
-
I know you didnt ask, but here goes. I'd personally get a Ruger 10/22 over the 39a, unless you just want the levergun, if so the only one that beats in IMHO would be the Browning... IMHO. If your need is a defense gun, I'd go ahead and get the Rem., but keep in mind used 39a's are hard to find. Defense shotguns are a dime a dozen.

im just waiting on the 5.56 Scar... or the Massada one!

I bet I can guess.... anyway weve bought a few used Glocks the past couple days, but I dont give premium $$$$ for them either, and I dont remember anyone cussing you guys out trying to sell one of them. But I have had my share of customers this week that have bought very high priced crap that our friend Rick sells... then they get hurting for money and try and unload them on us... and get mad because we wont give them premo money for them. The only reason they come to me is Ricks already pissed them off and sent them down the road.
