if someone ever comes in and mentions a gun I havent heard off, by the next day I make it a mission to know all about it.

all it takes is subpoena the public works guys that install them to court, and when they testify they changed the duration of the yellow light... your off the hook.

you did right to ask them... they will be the ones arreesting you. In short i'd leave the gun at home.

why dont all you guys just lobby not to have the form at all. I mean really, as an instructor I dont have the time to sit down and take 30 minutes to an hour to fill this thing out. I have just enough time to get all the certificates done, test graded...etc... My thing is, if I really thought it would do some good I wouldnt have a problem with it... but, its probably juts going to sit somewhere. I think if they want this info so bad they have it.... they just need to go and look it up in the other dept. in Safety.

Please see the last several above post... And for those whome think police officers should disarm themselves to be able to eat lunch think about this. They cant be in uniform without their firearm, and they cant be operating their police cruiser unarmed. So you guys realize it sounds like you want them to strip down whenever they go eat lunch!

btw.... Most small Police Dept's have their officers on "call"... 24/7... and in their General Orders they are allowed to carry while on call unless they are under the influence of alcohol. Its up at the discretion of he police chief of that particular Police dept or the chief law enforcment officer of that particular county to determine what is considered ..."on call"... or official dutys of that said officer. Just an FYI....

You Really think police shouldnt be able to carry at lunch???? You realize most police officers dont get to finish lunch while working. I remember only getting to completely an average of 1 lunch period a week without getting interrupted by some kind of call. So what you saying is... "they are off the clock" in your meaning of conducting "personal business" , right... so I guess you would have them ignore the call... let whatever happens while they finish their lunch, since they are officially "off the clock"... maybe wait the whole hour until time for them to be back on the clock or "official business time".... Since were thinking about it... I say all public safety services should be relieved of "official business time" at least 2 hours a day... you know, 1 hour for lunch, and at least a 10 minute break every hour... and 15 for you know the ol #2.... thats right all of them... fire, police, emt's and even the dispatchers. So the next time you call 911, wonder if the person you are depending your life on isnt taking their time "conducting personal business"...

they are grasping at straws because they dont have the time, money, or manpower to ck every school in a timely manner.. to really catch them. This is easier... and they dont have to go thru any more hoops to get the info. This is simply another burden on us, this way they dont have to get copies from another Dept inside the Dept of safty... they just get it from us. If that makes sense.

honestly Im fine with it... They dont need your gun info, but other then that its no biggie. The only thing that gets me is they need to fix thing like the video, timely renewals, etc... before they give us instructors more paperwork to do.

welcome to the board... It will because an unannounced auditor will just know whats going on that day, not everyday... nor how many people never made it into a real class.

no I get the point... you didnt read my post above... "They could care less about the serial number"... this isnt about serial numbers, some moron just decided to ask for it on the "catch the bad instructor form"... They will mail out new forms soon that wont be asking for the gun information.

honestly I dont think they could care less about the serial numbers... it is what it is, this is to keep the instructors in check. Its simple as that.

guys the real reason they are doing this is to do follow up investigations, contacting students. They want to know if thier instructor actually did what he was supposed to do, follow the states lesson plan and so forth. The problem for years is there have been istructors giving 1-2 hour permit classes, and some just signing sertificates over with no class at all. Personally I dont like this "additional paperwork"... But I see where there is a need. The information they are asking for on the other hand I feel should be kept private.

Bo, Its a good idea... but I did all this 9 years ago and it did no good. I even got the NRA involved and they were going to get some well known hollywood celebs to make a new tape... FREE, but they shut it down. So I finally just gave up and documented every time the State screwed up something regarding the handgun permit process, for documentation purposed of course. As of right now they have agreed they need a new tape... its just going to take some time to get the ball rolling. The good news is if we gat NaffieNazi out theres a good chance we can get all kinds of things done. I'd suggest you get in touch with John Harris and see what he's got going... thats our best shot.

I have had a paypal account for years, paypal is anti gun, never had a problem with it. Thats the only reason I "limit" when I use it. But I have excepted that if I didnt use any organization that was anti gun... well I probably wouldnt be typeing on the World Wide Web right now!!! So ..... leet me know what I can do...
