  1. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8209&highlight=carry+boat&page=5 heres the page where the letter from safety is.. its refering to a letter from Dick Wilson from TWRA, I have that letter around here too somewhere... just too busy to try and find it, scan it, and post it right now.
  2. there are, you just have to look.
  3. your good to go... dont get carried away and start popping off at the bears...
  4. Hell it was easier then I thought.. Hope this helps, debate away. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8209&highlight=carry+boat btw... the dams are under the control of the US Army Corp of Engineers.
  5. We have covered this before.... Im too tired/lazy to dig up the thread. It depends on what your doing but as far as I can tell your good to go as long as your not trying to access the actual Dam building.
  6. yea you need to get your base pads installed right. Be ccareful not to break those screws when you remove them.
  7. we used to advertise with them back in 93-94... we dropped them and our subscritions when they published the 1st permit holder lists. We were spending about $1500 a month with them. Im done with them period
  8. I have made my decision.... IMHO he cant answer the questions because if he answered them correctly he would be proving himself wrong. Coming here and arguing any "anti gun ownership" position is kinda like a member of planned parenthood trying to hang out with the Pope. Instead of answering reasonable questions Mrnick points out one poster because he spelled banned wrong, then gets offended because another poster pointed out his ignorance in firearms. There is a big difference in m16/ar15.... if you know what your talking about. It appears, at least to me Mrnick is trolling a bit but we will wait and see where this ends up.
  9. we still have some of those in stock, if you want a galco belt holster.
  10. Proper signage is the key to prosecuteion... Thats all Im saying...
  11. haha... You right, there are lots of other guns out there... and Sam works on them all. At least he has for the 15 years I've used him. We actually get several jobs Jeff turns down, for whatever reason. Sam also does any kind of refinishing you want too. His bluing, parkarizing work, and stock refinishing are known throughout the southeast. Thus the reason we actually get lots of guns in from out of state for repair work. Honestly Sam's been doing this for the last 25 years or so. He's Nationally known for his 1911 work... but that isn't his limit of expertise. He's a true do anything and everything gunsmith. So in short there isn't a type of gun out there that Sam hasn't seen or wont work on or a job he cant do. So I'll stick to and back up my original statement. Chop, chop...
  12. not me, too many black choppers... hidden cameras... and Govt. agents taking down tag numbers.
  13. Welcome to TGO... I'd suggest patience. You have waited this long to get your permit, whats another month or so. Your instructor should have told you the state has 90 days to get the permit to you, thats the law. You see when impatient people start calling and bugging the HCP office, that means they cant do their jobs... thats doing the queries for the applications... which means it will take longer for everyone. You might wind up getting bottom stacked instead. I'd wait it out a bit.
  14. in control of...
  15. people need to be patiant.... The LAW says they have 90 days, so whats the problem with waiting. Most have waited years to get it anyway, now all the sudden they cant wait anymore??? Hey it took me 90 days to just get my renewal this last time... Some times you just have to wait.
  16. just as many call and get it later too. Its called "pizzing off the man"... and yes it happens with Govt. employees. Many of people have gotten bottom stacked for bugging the crap out of them. I've been watching it happen with that particular Dept. for 15 years.
  17. thus the reason I dont carry a Kahr personally ...
  18. What you guys dont understand is the HCP Dept. budget is nill... and the staff has been depleted. If people are calling all day long... that takes a person away from doing query's to just sit and answer the phone. Btw.. if you have a common name the computer ck will take longer, plus they do wait on the finger prints to come back from locals and the state... they then issue the permit, even though they probably havent heard back from the FBI yet. If the FBI prints come back with a hit, they pull the permit and you will get a letter. So honestly, with the hoops they are jumping thru they arent doing a bad job. They arent perfect down there, and they could be a whole lot better... but it sure beats what was going on back in 94-95. Back then some folks couldnt get a permit at all or waited over a year to get it.
  19. Honestly this problem is either because of an incompetent instructor not informing you that the state has 90 days by law to issue the permit, or maybe someone wasnt paying attention in class... who knows. We stress this several times in our classes just so this sort of thing wont happen. All I do know is they have 90 days by law to get the permit to you, if you call and bug them ... you will get it in 89 days. If you leave them alone and let them do their job, most get it allot sooner. Just a friendly FYI...
  20. you wanting one?
  21. we have some... right now anyway
  22. ya'll dont gget all happy... these still have a ways to go. Remember what I said when everyone was all happy about the Republican majority.... you cant count your chickens...
  23. I have an old national match and have been jonesing for a socom to keep it company... so far no luck... and im a dealer. Keep looking... gunbroker is a sure thing, but its high... $$$$$$$
  24. yea, that should work.
  25. actually the shop should have taken the gun back and given you a refund in full... or at the very least let you pick out another gun to replace it with. Thats good customer service. Anyway, if you raise enought hell with Kahr they will add night sights to that gun for free... they do it all the time, just a lil FYI.
