It wasnt Mitch's fault but now he knows open carry is just a bad Idea, unless you have time to deal with every police officer that has a legal right to ask for your carry permit then keep it hidden. Also keep this in mind, you can carry in any safe manner that suits you... so actually you can legally walk around with the gun in your hand as long as your finger isnt on the triiger and your still legal... but I think all here would agree its not a good idea. So in short even if the law will allow you to carry openly, its proably a better idea to keep it out of sight. Sometimes its better to use common sense then pushing your limits.

Hendersonville has the worst reputation in this area dealing with permit holders, but this can all be avoided if you carry concealed. Mitch's Instructor should have stressed the possibility of these type of situations occuring when one open carrys.

why even put yourself in a situation where police have to "flank" you...???? You find your azz is one sneeze away from getting splattered! I never open carry, its always out of sight.

This is what bugs me, people open carry then act like the public shouldnt respond. Then when asked a polite question.. they act like an azz. Instead of telling the peson they have a carry permit. Moral to this latest story... Treat people like an azz, you will someday get treated like and azz... so when it happens dont cry about it!
