  1. Matt, a buddy of mine and I are going to shoot this. We have never did a 5k like this, I am wanting to run with a small back pack with my mags and ammo. Will that put me in Combat or will it still keep me in Race Class? I will still have on my 3 gun gear, I just wont be running with my mags on me. And, NO I am not running with 25% of my weight on my back! Thanks Ron

  3. Great Match Robert! The OG's of "Gallatin Gun Club IDPA" of the past would have been proud of the last match on TVA, May they RIP.........
  4. My vote is also the 1301!!! I have owned and shot, (when I say shot I mean anywhere from hundreds to thousands of RDS) through the Remington 1100 when I first started to shoot 3 gun and I also the Remington Versa Maxs tactical. I liked the Versa and I'd would most likely still be shooting it if it wasn't for the issue of slugs. Everyone has the right to there own opinion on what is the best. But only you can decide for your-self. Shoot all of them, read everything that there is on the shotguns. And buy what you can afford and shoot it and reload and reload some-more. And when you are done with reloading, reload some-more.. Oh by the way, the worst feeling to have, is to show up to a match and your equipment craps out on you. Buy equipment that works and is reliable......
  5. This sounds like a good deal and its helping a fellow Tn Gun Owner...... Just my 2 cents.. I started years ago with a Remington 1100, was told not to use it. I wished I listened! The next was a Versa Max and I really liked it, and used it for several years. I shot it in several big matches and it ran like a champ. The only issue I had and you can find out on your own is; shooting slugs and shooting them accurately. I just started this year with the Beretta 1301 and love it. I would say start off cheap, but in the long run you would be better off saving and buying a good shotgun that runs, instead of going to a match and the shotgun tanks and now you are standing with a several hundred dollar club. Just my 2 cents, I enjoy 3 gun! You cant find any better bunch of folks than 3 gunners! Also go to Brain Enos forums and read up on all kinds of questions, questions that you have never thought of yet...........
  6. I have ran Kyle Defoor's and Pat McNamara drills the most...... But I like a lot of these...... This was found on the web.......   http://progunfighter.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/PGF-drill-book-Sept-2015.pdf
  7. What's the rifle match looking like, close or some distance shots? Thanks RB

  9. If DBTN is in, I guess I am in?    The only difference I request lets not do a  5K or a 10K.  But a 3.10 or 6.2 miles, I like the imperial units of measurements than the metric system...........  :cop:
  10. I am not anywhere near an expert and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but what I did with my now 14 year old son goes like this...... I started with him working with a Glock 17 dry fire drills here at the house with his own gear........ then after he did all the reloads and sub-conscious movements, I took him to the range to work on drills of marksmanship and then shooting on the move...... Once I felt that he could comfortably shoot a match, I took him to some local IDPA matches.  Then I repeated the steps with an AR then with a shotgun....... Shotgun tends to be a little more difficult for him, me and most other folks who shoot 3 gun..........     I hope this helps, and a further comment is; that I have had more fun watching my son mature in this sport and assisting him in matches than I do shooting it.  But the competitive side in me can't wait till he gets good enough to best me.   RB
  11. Very good AAR, this school has been on my to do list for a longtime......
  12. It sounds like a hoot.....!  Was there a scoring based on time and hits or was it run and shoot  till you hear metal and then move on?
  13. Buzzer + Cold = to fast to make your hits............. but fun!!!!!!!!!
  14. He said "Shotty"
  15. The MCTS umbrella must be rather large to cover Gallatin Gun Club @ the TVA range to make it indoor? Or does someone have an indoor range in Gallatin to be used for the matches? I to am at a lost on where this would be played at.
