  1. Well I've been to the DMV and been fingerprinted The waiting begins
  2. Only two places I can think of is Volunteer Ordinance and Benton Shooters that have safes out of the stores I've visited.
  3. Went to class and had a great time tonight Very entertaining and informative. I learned a couple things. I didn't do too bad on my target either Wasn't 100%, but got about 95
  4. Some people claim to have problems with it, but I've not had any issues in my Ruger 10/22 or Walther P22 nor has my friend with his 10/22 with the Federal 550 round bulk ammo. Last I checked it was around $18 a box, but that was several months ago. Even buying in bulk from Cabelas the price came out to be about the same.
  5. I just got back from Volunteer looking at several of these little guns like the P238, S&W Bodyguard, and the Ruger LCP while out of the price range I was looking at, that P238 feels amazing in your hand. My biggest problem is the more I get used to my SP2340 not having a manual safety and instead a decocker would I, in an emergency situation, remember to flip the safety on this gun. I'd need to spend some time training and getting used to it if I did get it. I'm also interested in the P938 though, just a little bigger and in 9mm.
  6. I saw this thread and thought I'd throw together a little something on Google maps and it can be added to if people like it. http://g.co/maps/v7h5g Brings up a map and shows the location of the gunsmith. I took all the information listed and put it in as well so if you click it it comes up with phone, the gunsmith, website, etc. I also have it set to where anyone can modify or add things. Hopefully no one will come along and screw it up, but it will instead allow us to update information easily. It could also be embedded on the website somewhere if it were of any actual interest.
  7. The biggest problem is that I don't even know what I want. I'm doing some looking around, reading, etc and I appreciate everyones input on brands along with sigbrown's offer of making one. I do realize that you get what you pay for as well, in my opinion I think 50-100 dollars sounds reasonable, past that seems insanity. It also seems that my carry gun is not as popular as others. It seems I don't find many companies with a holster for my gun.
  8. I can't say I have but I'll have to at least give it a try the next time I'm frying bacon.
  9. Wow, good steal there.
  10. I lived!!!! I mostly come here to read and only post now and then. I spent a lot of time watching Psych on Netflix since I couldn't get on here
  11. I tell you what owning a firearm is like having a child. You buy a gun, and then you need more magazines, maybe a flashlight/laser, a holster, have to feed it ammo, etc etc. My plan was to open carry this gun. I was thinking leather, but I'm not set in stone. I don't plan on carrying it concealed so I thought I'd just keep it on my right side.
  12. Any time a company gives me a good experience, especially in dealing with a warranty, I will go out of my way to continue being a patron of that company. I also make sure to let everyone know about a good experience. To me it's well worth a little extra money. I'm glad to hear about your good experience. I can't say I've carried a Leatherman, but I have carried a Swiss Army Knife for about half my life and it's been invaluable.
  13. Well I just completed my last day of work as my store closed. I certainly wouldn't mind one of those jobs right now. It certainly feels weird....
  14. So I'm coming (again) to drain your collective knowledge and experience. What suggestions do you have for a person looking for their first holster? Once I've got my permit my carry gun will be my Sig Sauer SP2340 and I had planned on open carrying this particular firearm. What are some brands that are considered good quality? Brands to avoid? Anything else you guys can recommend to look for or watch out for I'd appreciate. Thanks again guys.
  15. Thanks for the input guys
  16. That's certainly something to see.
  17. I don't eat there. "Food" that cheap isn't food. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
  18. With your NRA membership you're provided with $2500 in coverage which I think for now covers me but I'll grow past that in a hurry
  19. I have a small but growing stash of firearms. The problem is I only have a gun cabinet and not a safe so I have little protection against theft, fire, etc. While I'd love to invest in a safe it's not an option due to my residential circumstances. I've wondered about some insurance in the past and I recently received an email from the NRA for some firearms insurance called ArmsCare Plus. I thought I'd see what you guys thought about insurance, if you had any recommendations, or anything else. I realize this ArmsCare Plus may not be the best coverage but I'm not exactly sure where to look for such a service. Thanks ** Here's a link to the service endorsed by the NRA and provided by Lockton Affinity http://www.locktonrisk.com/nrains/about.htm
  20. I JUST got in last night. I've only played it a few minutes and I'm not terrible happy yet, but again it's just been a few minutes. I spent well over a thousand hours in Diablo 2 / Lord of Destruction easily and that few minutes of D3 didn't remind me much of that time... maybe that'll change.
  21. As I get closer to my class I think more about things like this. I know I'll be nervous when I start carrying too:eek: I expect it to be just like everyone says though, just like with anything you'll get used to it. I will too Congrats on your permit
  22. Nice collection you have going there.
  23. I appreciate all the suggestions in this thread, been giving me some things to research and look into
  24. Awesome story :-) I can just imagine her face. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
  25. Nice, clean and simple. I'd be interested as well so I cast my vote
