" I wish I had read this post before calling nearly every shop within 50 miles of Nashville, haha! Nobody has them in stock and no one can even order them. I was really hoping to be able to hold on first to see if I like it. Not sure what to do now.." I noticed that they're out of stock currently on CDT also, glad I bought mine when I did. I'm willing to meet you at the Charlie Haffner Range in Spring Hill sometime soon, happy to let you squeeze a few off. PM me here with contact info if you'd like.

" I am extremely interested. What do you mean by removing the grips? The entire gun besides the grips are 1"? I find that really interesting. That would really be... perfect! It really does sound like a winner. That or the RAMI". Yes, the entire gun is 1" wide without the grips mounted. Don't think it would be much fun to shoot that way, but I digress. I bought mine last month online through Cheaper Than Dirt, got the dual tone finish, nickel and blue. It was about $100 less than any CZ I could find locally. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/LargeImage.aspx?sku=2-CZ7591192

"No disrespect meant, sir. I simply was reading the specs off of the CZ website. I guess the frame of the gun is wider than the slide". Absolutely none taken. The widest part is the grips, which if you remove, the entire frame is 1" wide. The full size CZ 75 may be wider, but the Compact isn't. As well, it's available with either 10 or 14 round mags.

"If only it WERE 1". Sadly it measures around 1.4" at the frame. The RAMI, however, is one of the newest contenders now. It's 1.25" at the frame". Double check that. I was a cabinet builder for over 20 years and my tape measure says 1". http://i1146.photobucket.com/albums/o526/subsonic55/DSCN0424.jpg

I recently picked up a CZ 75 Compact, most of the criteria you listed are a match, or very close. Frame is 1" wide, 14 rounds, grip long enough, DA/SA version available and what I have, accurate and reliable. The RAMI is similar and weighs a bit less.

1968 Chevy Caprice, 307 small block V8. Interior the size of a studio apartment and got about 23 mpg. Was my Dad's commuting car, had 86k miles when I took the helm, 186k when I sold her to a Chevy mechanic, saw it around town for another 15 years after that.

Since constitutional rights are an extension of natural law and as such serve to illustrate that these rights do not originate with the federal government, individuals and states have every right to push back against an over reaching federal action. It doesnt mean the outcome will be pretty, but it's the entire freaking point. It's clearly stated in Article VI, paragraph 2 that the Constitution "is the supreme Law of the Land, and the Judges in every state shall be bound thereby". If the federal government crafts an unconstitutional act of law, the states are bound by Article VI to reject it.

I owned a picky one, did not like Remington UMC at all, every 2nd or 3rd round stovepiped on me. It would eat American Eagle all day long. i've heard they need 200-300 rounds to get broken in, or get the throat polished. I'm shooting a CZ 75 Compact now, the throat looks like a mirror.

I recently traded up from a Ruger P95 decocker to a CZ 75 Compact with 14 round mags, extremely happy with it and the racking is infinitely easier.

Howdy from just up the road in Franklin. I also recently joined up at the Haffner Range, hope to shed some lead with other TGO members there on a regular basis.

Just a thought.....silver is up about 15% in the past week after being idle for several months. Something's up in the markets. It's a little over $33 and ounce right now, been as high as $50 in the past year, might want to wait a few weeks.

Taurus 605 snubby for a wheel gun option. I carry one in a pocket holster, replaced the springs with reduced power versions and have had no misfires at all. Smooth shooting little piece and below your budget.

For bourbon, it's WL Weller Reserve...butterscotch in a glass. For scotch, The Balvenie 14 year old Carribean Cask. for Irish, Red Breast 12 year old single pot.

Recently bought a CZ75 Compact and am loving it.

I saw a .44 Mag in a shop display case years ago that had been fired with a barrel obstruction caused by a reload with either no powder or insufficient powder. The next round hit the obsruction and the barrel did the classic cartoon banana peel split and curl. Must have left a mark on the guy's wrist.

What gun did you use to take your carry permit class?
subsonic replied to blizzard's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Ruger Security Six, shooting 38 Spl. Required to shoot double action, and with stock hammer and trigger springs, struggled with it due to a benign tremor in my shooting hand. Shot 94% and have since replaced springs with reduced power versions, like butter now and not a single misfire. -
This looks interesting: Coonan Arms Classic .357 Magnum 1911 Pistol
