  6. i did hear back from Les Baer but wound up not doing the deal, never could make heads or tales of why it has had 3 owners and only had 500 rounds through it, the guy said it had some holster wear, if he was local i'd be willing to meet, but the guy is in Hawaii, there's more guns out there
  7. I've done a lot of research and have an email into Les Baer to verify the serial #, if all turns out well looks like ill have my first 1911
  8. thank you all you are making my decsion much easier, and like someone stated, if its not for me in the end it sounds like it will be easy to pass along...
  9. owner estimated value minus box and manual at $1400 with a verified 500 rounds through it. thanks for the heads up about the test target
  10. a n.i.b sig like mine sold for $1500 not too long ago, ironicly to the same gentleman who is offering the Les Bear. It is not your run of the mill 228, the nickel models are highly sought after by some collectors. I am a newb to 1911's as i know the names Les Bear, Ed Brown and Dan Wesson, Wilson, etc make very nice guns. I really appreciate you guys advice, thank you o, the TRS has no box manual etc, are those easily replacable?
  11. so thats why it was so hard to find info lol
  12. I can't find much info about the gun online, what does TRP stand for?
  13. I have recently been seriously thinking of parting ways with my '94 Sig P228. It is a West German proofed (numbers matching) factory nickel model. I however cannot bring myself to shoot it and and have determined I am not a collector so would like to pass it along. A gentleman has offered me a Les Bear TRS with 500 rounds through it, no box etc. I've been bit by the HK bug lately so the sale could scratch that itch but i've always wanted a nice 1911. I know I could never afford one new and I don't know enough about them to know if this is a good deal or not... what say you?

  16. i'm on the lookout for a CZ452 american 16" with a threaded barrel
  17. makes sense, guess i could come up with a well insulated cooler with something cool in it to counteract the heat
  18. I am somewhat new to shooting and am planning on at some point getting my carry permit. However my work does not allow weapons in the building so that would mean leaving everything in my truck. My question is does it get too hot to store a loaded weapon in a vehicle in the summer months? thanks
  19. -noob alert- what happened?
  20. cool

    P226 or P30?

Unfortunatly, at the moment Trijicon said they have no plans to make their HD nite sights for the P30, so i decided to go with Meprolights. I might go a diferent route at a later time but these were readily available and cheaper than the other trijicon option that I didn't care much for. The wife also liked the P30 with medium inserts much more that any P226 she has held. She has carpal tunnal in here wrists which is one of the reasons I chose the HK as it is reportedly one of the softest shooting 9mm's. We will find out this weekend when we take it out to the range for the first time.
