  1. Wife and I just got home from day 2. We got there at 8 both yesterday and today and stayed all day yesterday and most of today. This was our first nra convention but definitely won't be our last! We had a great time! We both thought it was very well organized. We wound up paying the 20 and parking at the mcc and I'm glad we did. It was worth the extra $ to be able to go back and unload our swag and show pickups. I enjoyed handling all the NFA toys but the highlight for me was when my wife put a set of hearing/shooting aids in her ears and was able to hear clearly for the first time in many years. The most unexpected part of the show was how may people didn't win a Daniel Defense rifle simply because they didn't show up for the drawing! Already thinking of making plans for next years convention in Louisville.
  2. my wife and i will be there friday and saturday, hoping to attend some siminars as well
  3. Good looking rifle man

    HK VP9

If you've never installed them before they do require some fitting and some finesse. The rear sight is tapered towards the rear so you have to be careful not to twist the sight and damage it, been there done that. They are great sights though, I've got both a yellow set and orange set and my eyes pick up the orange set better. edit: will probably send the next set of for installation

    HK VP9

It's the first striker fired gun I've ever owned... and I love it! Very similar to HK's LEM which is what I carry. The VP just seems to be so effortlessly accurate. I've taken a few people from work to shoot on lunch breaks and they all have a smile on their faces after the first mag.
  6. Heard about this today on the radio, absolutely rediculous! How ironic is it that the school is named after a soldier.
  7. The wife and I haven't got ours yet, in the middle of moving though so they might have been forwarded to our new house. Is the Bridgestone arena hosting part of the convention?
  8. TDR, let me check on that in the morning before you order anything, pm on the way
  9. i'm pretty sure you'd have to call the ambulance and haul me off a mile or so in... good luck

    HK VP9 Review

Nice write up, congrats on your new pistol.   I've always been a hammer fired guy and more recently a HK nut. I was looking for a 9mm last year when this was announced and after many months of debate I finally picked up a VP9 from a TGO vendor. The VP9 has become one of my favorite guns to shoot at the range. Its accuracy is almost effortless. The large side and medium back panels make the gun point so nautral for my hand. The charging ears thingys are meh, I could do without them. My biggest "complaint" is the current lack of magazine availability, I hear they are coming soon though.     I hope a VP45 is coming soon  :pleased:
  11.  i can't keep ice cream in the freezer for the life of me!
  12. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=471399735     really?? $35,000 for a unique serial number?? how dumb are people  :stunned:           edit: changed title to reflect how great TGO is
  13. honestly had no idea they were anti-gun, looks like its time to change banks   those of you with Suntrust, are they not posted?
  14. The wife and I will definitely attend Friday, I might go Saturday as well. We're both excited to attend, we both joined the nra last week.
  15. I flipped over a few times while Walkin Dead was on comercial and liked it, i'm looking forward to watching it on demand, Walking Dead comes first on Sunday though   I laughed every time she corrected his grammer
  16. just drove from spring hill to cool springs and the main roads weren't bad, side roads are still rough
  17. I was looking for a 9mm shooter too and until a few days ago I'd say either an older Sig P226 or maybe a nice P228 or even a HK P30L. I even looked into Sig's X5 series. I picked up a HK VP9 and man that thing is just a joy to shoot!
  18. Would also recommend the Nolensville area. If spring hill doesn't do something with the roads soon it'll be in trouble. Once I-65 construction is complete the drive to and from cool springs will be much nicer though.
  19. I was able to take the VP9 out today at lunch to Everything Weapons range in Franklin. From the very first magazine, one ragged hole after another, I couldn't be happier with gun!  It ran perfect, all it needs now is more mags, some trijicon h.d.'s and more ammo! I've been looking for a 9mm to start taking some classes with and I believe i've found it.
  20. iirc, this is the same model you can rent as a host from the Nashville Armory if you want to also rent their 45 can... best $30 i've ever spent!  Gun ran like a top
  21. Word has it that several years ago some photographers were in a rush at a photo shoot and loaded the mags backwards.
  22. Finally picked one of these up yesterday thanks to the fine folks at Guns N More in Smyrna. Can't wait to get to the range this weekend and put some rounds through it!
  23. Any interest in a Walther PPS?
  24. Really interested in doing so but not sure how to go about it. We're looking to move to a Comcast serviced area in a few months and I really don't want to go down that road again. **newb alert** Is it possible to do so and still enjoy live sports like nascar and the NFL as well as regular network programming?
