  1. So, after searching it seems as tho YAD is not posted, but the most recent info I see is from 2009. Anyone local know if it is still carry-friendly?
  2. Photos were taken about 5:30pm. There wasn't a lot of pistol ammo on the shelves but they had 10+ boxes each of 9mm and 45acp. Not saying the drought is over - just saying that's the most I've seen on the shelf since December. The reloading section is starting to fill back up, too. No powder or primers, but bullets and equipment were all in stock and most caliber dies were available.
  3. First time I've seen the shelves this full in ages. 308 9mm 45acp 5.56 And more... No .22 still Pics when I get home.
  4. That seems to be absolutely true. My problem is that I have been in multiple pawnshops in various cities in East Tennessee and the story is always the same. Things like that RG I mentioned earlier or similar pricing. Also, I have (on occasion, but not always) asked, "How much could you knock off that price," and it is usually no more than five or ten bucks, if that - leaving the price still ridiculously high. Usually, though, the response I get is that the sticker price is not very flexible because, "Oh, I've gotta have that out of it to make my money back." Are you hitting chain stores like Cash America, or owner-operator stores? I've never had much luck getting good deals with chain stores.
  5. It looks like a lot of people have looked to reloading during the current shortage, myself included, to help bridge the gap. I've looked around and do not see anyone in west TN offering any kind of hands on training or mentoring. Is there anything out there? I've found an NRA class in MO, but that seems to be the closest. The internet is a great resource, but nothing beats having years of experience on hand to provide real-time feedback. I am currently set up on a LNL perogressive to do 308, 223, and am waiting on my 9mm dies from midway. I've only actually loaded 308 so far, and have lots of questions. Am I the only one? Is there demand for reloading classes?
  6. So there will be reloading supplies at the southhaven show this weekend?
  7. Did the rounds yesterday, both Avery and BP had bullets in most calibers and a variety of powder. No one has primers. I'm still OK on small pistol and large rifle, but I am in need of small rifle. Anyone know where I can find some?
  8. Anyone know the hours at Avery Outdoors?
  9. I'm assuming when you say you'll be in Germantown you mean at the show at the agricenter?
  10. Completely new to reloading, but from the reseaching I've done here's what I think I need:   9mm: 147g RN jacketed or plated - looking for cheaptarget shooting here Power Pistol powder CCI 500 primers   .223 65-77g boat-tail - again looking for cheap here. This round will be primarily target/varmint @ 200+ yards. RL-15 powder CCI 400 primers   .308 already have 150g speer BTSP bullets RL-15 powder CCI 200 primers   I'm open to suggestions, tho.
  11. So I've seen the references to David here in the forums - is there a price list? An in-stock list? A web site? I saw a post saying he'd be in Memphis next weekend, but there's very little detail.
  12. Looking into getting into reloading for .223, .308, and 9mm. I have a press (hornady progressive) with shell plates and dies (some still on order but they'll all be here in the next week or two), and I have plenty of brass tumbled and ready.   Problem is, I can't seem to find powder, primers, or bullets. Tried Sportsmans Warehouse and BP - they seem to only have supplies for shotguns.   Does anyone know where I can find supplies local?
