1. Will do.
2.
The T series is a round rail. The DD is an "oval". An yes, the MI is a good rail. Maybe horse dick was a little harsh :) I shouldn't let it bug me, since it ain't on my rifle
I still love you, Mike. Gimme a sugar...
3.
We can play the money games all day. Unless you have held one in your hands, you may not see anything but the money. I got one and put it on my rifle. Then, I got two more. Has nothing to do with precision. Has everything to do with not having a heavy horse dick wrapped around my barrel :). I'm not dissing every other rail out there. Just saying that the DD rails have lots going for them that you ain't gonna see unless you pick one up. It's a Glock vs. Taurus argument.
There is a 0.2 oz. weigh difference in the two rails, so you're not paying significantly more for any noticeable weight savings. I've held more than a few DD rails, and the rain clouds didn't instantly part and make way for blue sky, rainbows and magically delicious marshmallows. I'm not saying they aren't nice or that I wouldn't buy one for a certain build, but I'm not convinced they are so much better to justify the price difference. For most of my builds, if they were the only company that had a rail design style that I was looking for, I would spend the money in a heartbeat. If, like in the OP's case, there were another very comparable and much cheaper option, I am more likely to think twice about spending the extra money. Again, much depends on the type of build I'm considering. And I'm still unsure what type of build the OP is after.
4. Yeah, shipping can be a little nuts. I was possibly needing something shipped to me from SiriusXM. They were adding taxes to the shipping cost. I didn't realize anyone did that. Heck, I didn't realize shipping could be taxed.
5. RIP, Mr. Billey.  :usa:
6. I've never been hunting, but I've never seen a deer quite that big around here.
7. That ain't from these parts, is it?
8. The DD is going to use a different mounting system. It's probably better, but I'm not convinced it's that much better for the average build. Do enough shopping for AR parts, and you'll see plenty of companies trying to fix problems that don't really exist.    If you're building a precision AR, I can see spending more money for parts. Once you reach a certain level of quality, the return on your investment becomes minimal.   Take TV's for example. Is a $3000 TV better than a $300 TV? Without a doubt. Anyone who watches them side-by-side could easily see a huge difference. Is a $3000 better than a $2000 TV? Probably so. Is it $1000 better? For the average viewer, probably not. Both are going to have pretty incredible pictures.   If you want the more expensive parts, and you have the money to buy them, by all means buy them. If I was building a precision rifle where every little bit counts, I would more than likely fork over the cash.
9.
So that pistol tube was able to still reach the buffer retaining pin using the end plate? Meaning, aren't they sized to be screwed in all the way to just catch it, without plate width? And if it sizes to it now, seems it would have been too long without it? Looking great. - OS
Yep, it's in exactly how it's supposed to be. Without the end plate, not sure how the takedown pin spring and detent would stay in place. The end plate is a must.
10. I just called. They would have to order them.
11. Yeah, I forgot to order them when I ordered the other parts. I was hoping to find some local, so I could install them right away. I found some.
12. Pretty much. I'm not sure they serve much purpose on a semi-auto. I just like the way they look.

15. I meant to also mention the upper.
16. Yes, I would find a way top match some of the other parts, mainly the handguard and stock. The handguard should be pretty easy, but I'm not so sure about getting the stock to match.
17. My order from Ironworks Tactical. From order to doorstep was 3 days. That's coming from California. ALG ACT Trigger BAD-ASS Ambi- Safety Selector Lower Parts Kit

19. Or for sticking something in to hold the spring in place when removing the pin.
20. You gonna have any other parts that are the same color?
