1. I don't see the trigger safety as being an issue.  My first carry weapon was an XD40, and that has the grip safety. Once I started watching training videos and thinking more about possible scenarios, I got rid of the XD for a M&P. People have been carrying defensive weapons with a grip safety for a very long time, and I'm sure countless people will continue to do so. It's just a personal preference.
2. I guess you always have the option of waving the white flag.
3. Yes, or similar situations where you may not be able to get a proper grip on the weapon. It's just the kind of thing that I think about when imagining possible scenarios where I may need to defend myself in a less that ideal situation.
4. For the record, I don't want any manual safety on my carry weapon.
5. I wouldn't carry a 1911 for the same reason. Plus, as neat as this thing looks, it's not a 1911.  While I may or may not ever find myself in such a situation, I don't like the idea of being forced to have a firm enough grip to engage the grip safety. Not in a possible life and death situation, anyway. For target shooting, that's a different story. Just my  :2cents:
6. Neat looking little pistol, but I'm not a fan a grip safety.
7. Why would they move their headquarters 900 miles away from their distribution center?
8. Why would they move their headquarters 900 miles away from their distribution facility?
9. I looked at this one while I was shopping for a tool chest. The price was pretty sweet, but while I don't use it a ton, I needed/wanted one that could stand a little more abuse. I've only had mine for a little over a year, but it hasn't given me a single issue.
10. TGO can be a very bad influence. Congrats!
11.
Those harbor freight boxes appear built sturdy enough to actually serve as a mechanic's roll around tool chest. The biggest user complaint I've read about them is that the wheels are not close enough to the corners and can be a tipping hazard if you do roll em around a lot. Which is not the biggest complaint one could imagine on a tool chest. I don't need something that tough, just lots of drawers to store my shop tools and random crap. But at least need good ball bearing slides. The main thing that bothers me about the kobalt tool chests, is apparently too much wasted space, but maybe that is somehow necessary for rollaround lockable storage. Fer instance, there is enough wasted blank panel space at the top of the bottom chests to hold another drawer. And the kobalt middle chests, have almost as much top and bottom blank panel space, as is occupied by the drawer space. And the extra space on both sides of the drawers seems excessive. Lose more than 4 inches of horizontal drawer space, for what purpose I don't understand, but maybe there is a good reason. I just have limited shop space, why I wanted chests. Seems counter productive to park some huge chest in the shop, when so much practical space seems wasted. For something that big in the shop, want it to hold as much crap as possible.
I haven't noticed that issue with the chest I have, but I don't roll it around very often. It's loaded pretty heavy, and I haven't felt like it would tip. The bottom chest carries a majority of the weight in mine, so it keeps the center of gravity pretty low. My only complaint would be that it lacks a handle on the right side.
12.
Those sears craftsman tool boxes are probably made on the same production line.
Possibly the same production line, but different materials. Mine is no Snap-on, but it is much better quality than the cheaper line of Craftsman boxes I looked at.
13. I got the following tool chest. I looked at some of the cheaper Craftsman options, and this is far superior. It's actually a great chest for the money. I got it on sale, but I'd say it's still worth the full price. http://m.harborfreight.com/26-in-8-drawer-roller-cabinet-with-8-drawer-top-chest-67831.html
14. There is a Kentucky Gun Owners forum, but it looks pretty dead. A simple Google search didn't turn up too much.
15. The people have underestimated the amount of power which they have relinquished to the government, Democrats and Republicans alike.
16. I think you'll find no shortage of hospitals in Knoxville, Nashville, and I am somewhat assuming Memphis. I think there are more hospitals than churches in the metro Nashville area.
17.
Any first hand comments about Crossville? While I see that it has a lot of golf courses which I could care less about it does appear to be an interesting town with lots of water features etc...
I am quite familiar with the Cookeville and Crossville areas. While not my cup of tea, they (especially Cookeville) are centrally located between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. It's less than a 2 hour drive to any of the three. This is great if you're looking for a short weekend getaway, or even if the wife wants to spend some time shopping for the day. While I'm not a fan of the "big city" life, I prefer to be within a 30-45 minute drive to downtown Nashville. The great thing about much of Tennessee, is the fact that you don't have to travel too far from any metropolitan city to find a rural-type setting.
18. I'm a little confused. Are you looking for sights or some sort of optic/scope? Are you looking for something with magnification?
19. I'm going to request a better photograph. More light and larger. Thank you for your cooperation.
20. Very nice finds. I've seen some nice firearms at estate sales, but someone always has much deeper pockets than I do.
21. I can only speak for the Nashville and surrounding areas. I really like Hendersonville.    Your taste may be different, but some places to look at would be:   Hendersonville Mt. Juliet Franklin Brentwood.   Franklin and Brentwood are two of the pricier options, but all will have most of the stores and restaurants you're likely accustom to.    I also like White House. It's just a few miles north of Hendersonville, but the setting is a bit more relaxing. You'll have a Wal-Mart, Kroger, and a few dining options. if you're like me, you'll find yourself traveling from White House to Hendersonville (assuming you live in White House) for a Lowe's, Home Depot, better dining and entertainment. Plus, I may be able to help you become a member at Gallatin Gun Club.    As you probably already know, the best thing to do is gather as much information as you can, then come on down for a visit. Take a few days to get a look of the areas in person, and I'm sure you'll find something very suitable for your needs.
22.
How much were they?
$369 with a free $100 gift card. So $269.
23. Yep, I'm staying home, too. I probably won't even drink. Happy New Year!
