They said the handgun was recently purchased locally. If I understood correctly, maybe within the last couple days. -

OK. At least I know it's not just me. -
I am on Tapatalk, and when viewing unread threads, there is one titled "All-New Chevy Silverado". When I click on the thread, it redirects me to a website. Anyone else notice this?

Breaking news...Ft Hood Shooter..again
TripleDigitRide replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Lieutenant General Mark A. Milley just held a news conference. During the question and answer segment, a reporter asked about concealed carry on base. Milley informed the reporter that is was not legal for military personnel (or anyone, I suppose) to carry on base, and that he did not feel concealed carry should be allowed. About that time, someone asked about the response time of the MP's and other law enforcement officers, to which Milley said 10-15 minutes. The reporter who initially asked about concealed carry jumped in and basically tried to make a point about how CC could have been beneficial when it takes 10-15 minutes for help to arrive. He wasn't interested in debating the reporter, so he took another question. It was nice to hear a reporter with some common sense. -
Someone said that Wal-Mart in Gallatin placed a "One box of ammo per customer" sign today.

Selling .22 ammo at those prices is one thing, but expecting expecting us to buy their line off bull is another. While I may not know how much they paid for the ammo, after talking with a couple people in the know, I have a strong reason to believe at least some at EW are not being completely truthful about the .22 they are selling. They don't owe me/us any explanation, but if they are going to give one, I'd prefer it be an honest one.

I bought some stuff from this guy in Hendersonville. I did not have him do any headliner work, but I did take a peek at an SUV he was almost finished with. It looked factory to me. He was doing it in front of his apartment, so I don't think he has a shop. He's an older guy on a fixed income, or so that's what he was telling me. Other than that, I don't know much about the guy. He may even come to you. Not sure if he's the kind of guy you want to use, but just in case: Rodney Bogart - 615-806-3897

Polymer lowers now "illegal"
TripleDigitRide replied to TNMTBik3r's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So, if anyone currently owns a PlumCrazy lower, they are in violation of federal law and can be punished? -
And here's a short story for comparison. I saw a Craigslist ad for a used gun safe a few weeks ago. Very good price on the safe, an older model, I assumed it was a personal sale. Agreed to buy it and drove 90 minutes to the seller's location. Turned out it was a very small store which had just opened in the middle of nowhere, just off I24 at the Springfield / Coopertown exit, I think it was called Farragut Sales but don't quote me on that as my memory is fuzzy. Not a gun store, more like a small convenience shop that sold mostly tools, knives, and misc cool stuff but he was selling a bunch of gun cleaning accessories and he also had a small section of ammo.As I looked around I was impressed with his prices and selection. Almost everything he had was good quality and very good prices, things I actually like and have used for years. He had a dog working behind the counter and we talked about all sorts of gun stuff. Said he used to run a gun shop but was now just running a small store near his new retirement home. Super nice guy. Then as I browsed the ammo section I see individual boxes of CCI Blazer, maybe 8 boxes total. It was the only ammo without a price, so I almost hated to ask, but I did. Before he told me the price, he explained that the market was crazy now and he refuses to buy or sell 22lr for crazy prices, but being in a pretty remote location he was getting a lot of customers in asking for 22lr and he felt bad that they couldn't get any anywhere. Lots of farmers or folks with kids that really needed it. So he purchased a small amount of it for $54.99 per brick and was selling it for $5.99 per box, making only $5 profit on the whole brick. He actually discouraged me from buying it, said it was only there to help the local folks, and he didn't have much at all. This guy was a first class sportsman, gentleman, and small business owner that I highly respected. So I bought about $40 worth of other stuff from him and went on my way. Seems he knows a little more about marketing than EW, perhaps they will learn from him.
Can you give me an idea how to find this place? I live in Springfield.

Either way, I think they are full of crap. I'm just not sure if they think they're smarter than they really are, we're dumber than we really are, or a lot of both.
Unlike most people on this thread, I was actually at the Everything Weapons store this past week to pick up some ammo and a couple mags. Their Armscor 22LR price is at $55/500rds now. Also, there is a 10% discount on everything in the store except guns. So they're paying our sales tax, which I think is great. Finally, as I am a poor college student, I used to buy guns online at Buds or cheaperthandirt and have them transferred to EW because their transfer fee is reasonable and they are very helpful with any questions I have and don't ignore me like other gun stores around town. But last week, I noticed that most if not all of their guns are match priced with buds! I don't know how a storefront retailer can afford to do that, but they obviously manage. I appreciate having a place in town like EW and I will continue to visit the store, regularly. I'm not going to condemn an entire locally owned and operated business just because they had a high price on ONE particular ammo. Like other people said, who knows what their cost is? If you can find it elsewhere cheaper, then good for you. But some of us, who don't want to get up at 4am to stand in line at walmart for substandard Winchester 333 that won't even cycle in my 22, will go to EW.
Interesting choice for a your first post on TGO.

He owns the place.
-
According to a recent customer complaint regarding an issue not related to the ammo, EW is claiming to be under new management as of about a week or so ago. I was always under the impression that the owner managed the place. Is that not correct?
-
I shared my opinion on their Facebook page. This is the response I received: Does the average retailer normally have a markup of $10, $15, $20 on a single brick of .22?
-
I'm sure there's plenty of spare bedrooms around TGO. We love you, man!

Maybe I can give her $4800 for the truck.

I couldn't stomach watching a helpless dog in such a situation, so I was only able to watch a few seconds. That's all it took to get the point across.

Why in the world would a judge do that?
-
If they can still make a profit at $54.99, they were making a killing at the old price. That's all I need to know.
-
Exactly. They were selling the same stuff for $20 a brick more. Someone has the balls to come here and say they aren't making a bunch of money on .22 ammo. They sure as hell aren't going to lose money at $54.99, so they sure as hell were gouging.
-
I see them every day for .10/round on local classifieds sites and forums. As long as Wal-Mart, Academy, etc. are selling them (when they are in stock) for fairly normal prices, I will not pay upwards of .10/round for .22.
