Very nice find! Thanks for sharing.
-
I'm glad I didn't know about it.
-
WoW! Is that really you? Interesting. Glad you stopped by to say hello. Keep us posted on your journey.
-
It does, but I can buy 2 guns for that price.
-
FYI--I think I'm gonna pass on the XD(M). I think I'm gonna opt for something else.

Mount Prospect is also home of the late Randhurst Mall, which was built on top of a bomb shelter that could handle everyone who lived in the town of Mount Prospect. I could be wrong on this, but I also think it was the largest building in the US to be air conditioned.

I have a few very close friend who've lived their entire lives in the Round/Grays Lake area. One of them actually moved down to Tennessee, but for some strange reason he didn't care for it. I could never figure that out. My sister is the same way, though. She loves the hustle and bustle of the big city life.

Yea! Most of my family still lives in the Chicagoland area. I couldn't take it anymore. The day after I finished high school, I was gone, and never looked back. Heck, I even make my family come here if they want to visit with me.

Funny! That's where I was born and raised. I lived most of my life in the Wheaton/Naperville areas. Most of my (underage) drinking days were in the Chicagoland area, but never Old Style. It was all MGD for me. Neither beers seem to be very popular down this way.

I posted this in a thread made by someone else, but I feel it needs it's own. The subject (30-year-old former Army helicopter pilot) of this story has been posting updates on Craigslist, and his blog. Todays blog is very touching. What about Old Style? That was my fathers beer of choice when I was a youngster. That was the days of the pull tab. I think they were called pull tabs anyway. One of you blue hairs probably know what I'm taking' about.

Jews burning books? sorta ironic, isn't it?
TripleDigitRide replied to BimmerFreak's topic in General Chat
Israel's "anti-missionary" law was conjuered up out of nothing more than fear. The fear that Christians may seduce Jews (mainly the younger) away from Judaism, which in their eyes, would result in genocide. The fact that a large percentage of Jewish men are now marrying non-Jewish women doesn't help their cause any. Because of this, the Jewish birthrate cannot keep up withthe rest. They fear the preservation of the Jewish race is on it's way to extinction. Jews like to use the term the term "religious proselytizing". Using this term makes it sound like nothing more than a bunch of whacked-out religious fanatics in your face, on every steert corner, drilling you with the evil Christian evangelism. I'm guessing this isn't how the evil Christians do things in Israel, but I could be wrong. What would this country (that was founded on, and is more or less run on Christian beliefs) be like if we came up with some BS law against anyone who preached anything other than Christianity? What if we were so intolerant? We could possibly be like those countries who choose to fight and kill each other for the last thousands of years. Not only do we (USA) allow others to preach their beliefs, but we also allow non-christians in on the decision making processes of this great country. We, a Christian based country, allow much of our civil liberties to be dominated by the Jewish (and other) beliefs. The ACLU is a perfect example. The ACLU's leaders/members have been made up of a large percentage of Jews. The former executive director of the ACLU, Ira Glasser, who was allowed to serve ad ED for nearly 25 years, was more than happy to oppose the proliferation of Christian symbols and traditions. It's no secret that the ACLU is profoundly anti-Christian. The ACLU is the main reason why prayer is not allowed in schools and other places funded by our tax dollars. And why do you think we are seeing lesss and less of the traditional nativity scenes during the Christian holiday, Christmas? It's mainly due to the intolerance of the Jewish community. But guess what, they are still allowed to prop up a menorah anywhere they see fit. And the old BS excuse that the menorah is not as specific a symbol as the cross doesn't fly with me. When 99% of us see a menorah, we link it directly to Judaism. So the way I see it is, the Jews feel it perfectly acceptable to preach and take part in such disgusting acts of intolerance in Israel, why not force their beliefs on the rest of the world. All the while, sweeping the religious beliefs of Christians under the rug. And just for the record, I'm not a member of any organized religion. I'm just voicing my worth. Carry on! -

HCP qualifications exemption question
TripleDigitRide replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread, but, the HCP class is a waste of time, and a complete joke. If you're a complete moron when you walk into the class, you're gonna walk out being the very same complete moron, only you'll have a permit to carry a deadly weapon. Well, you'll have the piece of paper which allows you to get your permit, but you catch my drift. -
Does anyone have a clue as to what this wire/cable is for? There were 2 of these in the box with the Treo. It's about 4" long, and the end you can't see plugs into the charger port on the Treo. I have no clue what plugs into this end.
-
Yea, mine will take the 4GB cards, but from what I think I understand, it won't take the SDHC type cards.
-
Thanks for the helpful info. I was getting confused because of 2gb "expansion" card was $99.99 and the 2gb SD card was only about $30. I could understand the drastic price differences.
-
It's the Treo 700wx.

Some people have no choice to get out of it. Some people are single parents, with no family within a 500 mile radius. Some people can't take a chance of no being able to pick up their children from school or day care. Not to mention the countless other reason why some people just can't do it. Hell, I can't find time during the week to do things I actually want to do, so serving on jury duty sure as hell isn't gonna fit into my schedule. As far as the comment, "men fought and died so you could fulfill the duties of a citizen" goes, I'm thankful for those men and women, but I'm sure there are a few million people sitting on their a$$e$, with all the time in the world to serve on jury duty.
-
I did. Luckily, I got out of it.

I'm sure the Rabbi with have a sound explanation. He's the only voice of reason around here. -
Another question about the lead issue. I searched ebay, and found many ads for lead ignots, but I'm not sure what a fair price would be. As an example, I saw an ad for 25 pounds of lead from old bullets and lead shot. The bidding was around $16.00, plus roughly $10.00 shipping. There were other simial ads where they ignots were made from wheel weights and other types of lead. Well, I'm off to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds for the flea markets.
-
Have any of you attempted buying used wheel weights from local tire shops? I'm not sure if they'd be willing, or even allowed to sell used lead. Anyone aware of any laws preventing them from selling/giving lead to the public?
