  1. Is that one of those wind tunnel things for practicing skydiving?
  2. Yet again, no rifle to be found. Looks good.
  3. SHTF is a somewhat broad term, but I'd go with the AR15. It has so many various uses.

    Help!!

Just to make sure, I would also contact a local attorney, but I'd say you'll be fine. Unless you're convicted of the crime, all should be well. At the most, you may have to have something expunged from your record. I know someone who was arrested for selling pot. There were actually 2 felonies involved. He served 2 years on probation. When he was done with his probation, he was able to get these felonies expunged from his record and now has his HCP.
  5. Yep! The intraweb is a wonderful place.
  6. Personally, I'd go with the AR, but here is a damn sweet mini-14 http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/trading-post-sale-trade/74640-wts-ruger-mini-14-target-like-new-ga.html
  7. The Mini-14, Mini-30, and Mini-6.8 are small, lightweight semi-automatic carbines manufactured by the U.S. firearms company Sturm, Ruger. The Mini-14 can fire both the popular .223 Remington cartridge and the similar military 5.56x45mm cartridge,[1]. The Mini-30 uses the 7.62x39mm and the Mini-6.8 fires 6.8 mm Remington SPC. Since 2005, all models are marketed under the name Ranch Rifle. Ruger also offers a selective fire variant of the Mini-14, the AC-556, to police and military customers. AC-556 models have a slightly longer receiver (shared with early production "series 180" models) to allow for automatic operation. These models are also available with features such as short barrels and bayonet lugs that are not available on the civilian models. The Mini-14GB model is a semi-automatic variant for police and military sale, offering the short barrel and bayonet lug options.[2][3]
  8. You handled a box with a red X inside? Sweet!
  9. I thought about doing the very same thing, but it's so far from me. I'm in Hendersonville, so that would be quite a hike. I thought about joining the Gallatin Gun Club, but they are at their limit. On top of that, it seems as if you have to jump through hoops to become a member. I'm still looking for one a bit closer to me.
  10. I went to APPS for fingerprinting when it was time to get my HCP. If what goes on in the hallways during business hours is any indication as to how the classes are run, in no way would it be a class for a timid woman. Even the women working in the offices were on the harsh side.
  11. I've played with a couple, and they are nothing more than expensive toys, IMHO. One was an AR15 and the other was a 12ga shotgun. They were neat to play with, but not if you intend on using them to brush up on your marksmanship. They are not quite that accurate. Not the ones I played with anyway.
  12. It was no problem. While browsing, I did see some older bikes that were $600-$800. Tell him that the bike will only go as fast as he makes it go. He doesn't have to go full throttle all the time. What he doesn't realize is, it will only take him a very very short time to get used to riding, and then he'll want a bigger and faster bike. The decision is ultimately between you and your son, but knowing what I know, anything much smaller than a 125cc, and both of you will likely regret it. My first bike (no previous riding experience) was an 80's model Suzuki DR 100. I was only 11 then. It took me only to weeks to realize I really wanted something a bit bigger and faster. That's just my opinion.
  13. Oh, 1 more thing--When you do decide on a bike, I'd stock up on clutch and front brake levers, because you'll need'em.
  14. Here are a few good examples of bikes to look at. These are just some examples I could find quickly. I'm not sure of your price range, so you may want to go a few years older to save a few bucks. Also, I personally would go woth a 2-stroke over the 4-stroke. That's just me though. With a 2-stroke motorcycle, you'll have to mix the gas and 2-cycle oil much like you would in a weedeater. The 4-strokes are usually quieter, but don't quite have the get-up-and-go power. Although, the newer 4-strokes have much more torque than in years past. You'll have to check out both. http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/727426987.html http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/723282912.html http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/716824628.html http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/711067405.html http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/702138349.html http://nashville.craigslist.org/mcy/677448996.html
  15. In my humble opinion, you can't go wrong with a Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha or KTM. I'd stay away from the cheaper off-brand bikes you'll find. If he's 13, I'd look into the 125cc. If he's an extra large 13 year old, he may have to step it up to the 250cc. I'd look at the classifieds before buying brand new. You can find some amazing deals on very nice used bikes. I'm not aware of any training centers around, but even if there were, no training is like the real thing. I promise he will fall, crash, and likely get hurt while riding. It's all part of it. I would suggest investing in a helmet, and riding boots at the very least. After a while he can move into the full set of gear. I was raised on dirt bikes, and even raced a bit when I was much younger and thinner. I loved it.
  16. Damn skippy! I'll sacrifice the buzz for the pleasure.
  17. Gun's & Leather are some of the finest people around. I've been to many gun stores that look at you all stupid when you ask a question about something. Not at G&L. They always seem more than happy to explain everything you need to know, and then some. And they never have a bad attitude. Plus, they have a great indoor range. For these parts anyway.
  18. No problem. I'm a nice guy like that.
  19. I'm having a hard time finding the rifle in the picture.
  20. WOW! What was the guy doing wrong? That does say a lot for ASP.
  21. Yep, he's loving it. It's in very good condition for it's age. I was surprised how rough the grips were, while the guns finish was quite nice. He gave $300 for the 64-3, and another $30 for the new but used grips. He's happy.
  22. Did something like this also happen in the Sumner County area? I was told a similar story about a a range/club in that area.

    ruger lcp

Everyone wants one. For some reason factories can put out 4397898754985968 brand new automobile each day, but only 3 guns. Go figure.
  24. My girlfriend is out of town for the evening (likely with her boyfriend), so what the hell--1 shot of Opal Nera Black Sambuca and 1 shot of 5150 Tequila Reposado.
