Damn! I would be a wreck. Scour the neighborhood, post signs, put an ad in the Lost & Found section of Craigslist, check with local pounds/animal shelters.

Well, if you've opened the blade that many times before finally it didn't work, it sounds like there's a possibility that all of them could have this issue.  Do we know if all of the springs were made/cut at the same time, or were these built using different batches of springs?

The Hotfix update installed. I checked for updates, and nothing was found, other than the two optional Bing updates.

The second link you posted is currently installing a Hotfix For Windows update.

So the updates that are showing as successfully downloaded today are not the same updates that were unsuccessful yesterday?

After running the Fixit, I checked the Windows Update log, and it looks as if the updates are now installed. Am I seeing that correctly, or are those different updates?

I ran Fixit, and these are the results.

No proxy. The only firewall that I'm aware of would be the Windows firewall. I'm running Trend Micro Antivirus.

Very nice. Is it part of the recent recall?  

I tried that, but the only two were optional Bing updates.

I have one daughter, and she's been enough to make me realize I do not want any more.
