New restrictions on mail order black powder arms.
TripleDigitRide replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I don't know about black powder, but I can tell you that slingshots can not be shipped to Knoxville, Tennessee. It's the truth. -
Wal-Mart mobilizes against Democrats
TripleDigitRide replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I've never worked for a unionized company, so admittedly, my knowledge on the subject of unions is somewhat limited. On the other hand, I do have many family members (mostly up north) and some friends who do work for unionized companies. A majority of these friends and family work for some of the largest and most profitable companies in their areas. In fact, some of the companies are the largest and most profitable in the country. I can't speak for the companies, but I can honestly say that I've never heard any of my friends or family members complain or talk negatively about the union which they're a member. Those who've already retired from a unionized company are living very well (financially), partly due to the amazing pension plans and very nice wages they received while working for a unionized company. This is something I wish our company offered. It would be nice to have the added benefit/security of a pension plan to go along with any personal savings I'm able to do while preparing for retirement in the distant future. Those who are currently working for unionized companies are also doing very well, financially. Many of them have benefit packages that rival those who work for a government. Their wages are nothing to shake a stick at either. All of them are living well. Yes, there have been unionized companies move to other countires. Yes, there have been unionized companies who've decided to close their doors due to certian issues, including financial reasons. Can ALL these circumstances be blamed on the unions? I can't honestly say for sure, but I'd venture to say no. If you say yes, can you explain how some companies are able to grow and prosper while employing union workers? Fact is, a vast majority of unionized companies continue to grow and prosper with the help of unionized employees. -

FIRE MISSION-MSNBC POLL ON CC IN PARKS
TripleDigitRide replied to ffr1910's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yep! If you add the two for "allowing" weapons to be carried (OC or CC), those if us in favor would have a 10 point lead. -
I helped a friend of mine do his garage floor. He used a product called Muscle Gloss. Unlike most of the stuff you'll find at places like Lowe's and Home Depot, this stuff is 100% epoxy. It's not solvent or water based. Like Tungy said, it would be a good idea to prep/wash the floor before using the product. IIRC, my friend purchased a cleaning solution from the Muscle Gloss company. Instead of using the scrub brush method, we used a couple push brooms to scrub the floor. Much easier on the back and knees. He even purchased (for an extra charge) those pretty plastic (or whatever they're made of) chips to add a little "flash" to the floor. It was a good thing he purchased extra chips, because they weren't easy to spread evenly, for the look most people are looking for. They also help make the floor a bit more slip resistant. This may or may not be an issue with you, but I can tell you, it works. He also sealed the bathroom in the garage, but opted not to use the chips in that area. I was using said bathroom (with a wet floor), and busted my a$$. This product creates a VERY smooth surface, and can become VERY slippery if liquid is spilled. With that being said, the floor has held up beautifully. After about 5 or 6 years now, the floor still looks like new. And he uses the heck out of it. We even had a transmission for an F-350 fall off the stand, and it only left a scratch. It's tough.

Gun show at Expo this Saturday
TripleDigitRide replied to bubbiesdad's topic in Events and Gatherings
I can't afford gun shows for a little while. I'll be staying as far away as possible. -
I now choose not to shop at Wal-Mart. We used to shop there at least once a week, but not anymore. It's been about 3 weeks now. We went to Target for our school shopping.

I made the trip to Hero Gear just the other day. Joe really took a whole lot of time walking me through everything. It took a while, but I finally made a decision. I hope to have the upper within a few weeks. I already had a general idea of what I wanted, but that hasn't made the process any easier. I've changed my mind about a million times. The fact that Joe and Hero Gear has such a nice inventory, I was able to actually put my hands on many options. I'd suggest you make the trip as well.

You can find this and Hooters Wing Sauce at many grocery stores. I usually buy the Hooters sauce and a bag of already breaded chicken strips, fry or oven bake the strips, place the stips into a large bowl, pour in some sauce and a little melted butter, place a lid on the bowl, shake for a few seconds.......Then chow down. I prefer them dipped in O'Charley's honey mustard.

TripleDigitRide replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in Long Guns
For the price, they better be damn good rifles. -
Thanks Winger. After all the reading I've done, I was leaning towards the same conclusion. I just wanted to make sure.

Having a young daughter of my own, a situation such as this is what I fear the most. The older she gets, the more I worry. How that punk is still breathing is beyond me. Her parents must have unbelievable self-control. Best wishes to your family. F**k his!

No problem. Just let me know. Thanks.

New restrictions on mail order black powder arms.
TripleDigitRide replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I did not know this was the case. If I remember correctly, xdshooter ordered a BP revolver not long ago. I didn't hear/see him mention any issues with shipping. -
Sounds fine. I'm not in any great rush.

It's kinda hard to tell from the angle of the photograph, but it looks like a Lee Pot IV (4), which holds 10 pounds. It's basically an entry level type pot. I'd fire it up and see what it does. EDIT: I was able to find some pictures of a Pot IV. Maybe you can tell. http://www.tacticoolproducts.com/bulletcasting/ Here's more pictures. http://www.auctionarms.com/search/printitem.cfm?ItemNum=8117983
