  1. My boss and I often discuss our love for guns, and he had been telling me about this carbon AR-15 that he's had for quite a while. Though some of you may know all about it, I had never seen one. When he was talking about this carbon AR, I just assumed the stock, handguard, and maybe a few other little parts were made of carbon. I was wrong. Well, be brought it in today. It ended up being a Professional Ordnance Carbon 15, with a carbon fiber upper and lower receiver, stock and handguard. It also had a stainless fluted barrel and quick release flash hider. Everything was super lightweight. I think the whole thing weighs in at about 4.5 pounds. Amazing. He said that most of the reviews were on the negative side. Something about FTF's and FTE's, I think. Maybe something about the handguard getting warm as well. Hell, I can't remember--I was to amazed with how light it was. He claims to have put several hundred rounds through it, without a single issue. I don't know if all the negative reviews are justified, but that thing sure was bada$$.

    Doctors

Guns are far more likely to kill doctors than doctors killing guns.
  3. I'm posting a picture of the gun in question. He was having trouble getting the picture posted.
  4. I love dogs as much as the next guy, but I'd have to put him/her down. You can buy some serious fire power with 2K-5K.
  5. You mean people are buying up all the lowers, just like they're buying up all the gas? Silly wabbits!

However you look at it, I had less than a quarter of a tank on Thursday night, and I'm very happy that I ran to the Exxon for a fill-up. If I hadn't, that same fill-up, today, would have costed me an extra $50.
  7. Who cares about the sling--We want pictures!
  8. Holy Smokes! I'm glad to hear things didn't turn out any worse than they did. I hope the little guy heals soon. Sad thing is, they are plenty of people who'd be willing to break both their arms for a dose of the drugs that youngin's been gettin.
  9. AOW=Any Other Weapon I think he said they cost about $600-$650+
  10. By EDC, I assume you're talking about a gun? A knife? A flashlight? A multi-tool? I don't see the little HCP symbol under your avatar, so can we also assume that you don't have a HCP?
  11. I figured it out. MP= Magnetic Particle Tested CB= Chromed Bore
  12. Can someone tell me what the letters that are stamped on the barrel mean? MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 CB What does the MP and CB mean? Thanks.
  13. Have a safe trip. Thank you for your service.

No, I don't own a gas station, but every time I hear a station owner talking about profit's, they claim to make only 5-10 cents profit, per gallon. They also claim to make more money on the items inside the store.
  15. I'm not sure if you know it or not, but that pictures is doctored. Yes, that's Sarah's head, but the body is not hers. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/is_that_a_real_photo_of_sarah.html Yes, it's a nice rifle.
  16. The C&R has nothing to do with any other firearm except C&R's. You do not have to keep a record of non C&R guns. It's very easy and cheap to get your C&R FFL. Yes, you can then have C&R guns shipped dirrectly to your door, but you can also get discounts on stuff at places like MidwayUSA and Brownells. This thread has lots of information. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10045
  17. I sent him an email with your info. Thanks.

Don't hold back. Let you feelings out.
  19. I told him about Hero-Gear, and that I figured you probably had one or could get one. He's in the very beginning stages of looking at them. I know he did have some questions about swapping stock parts for some US made parts. I don't know what parts he had in mind, but I do know that he wanted to keep it fairly stock. Other than that, I can't really remember what he wanted to know. As long as they are good quality guns, I'm sure he's good to go.
  20. Congrats. You can always get you some Gun-Kote and refinish that puppy. It's pretty cheap and easy. After that's done, take a buffer and some jewelers rouge to the entire barrel. That sucker will be looking nearly brand new.
  21. Does anyone have any experience with these? Heard anything about these? My boss is thinking about buying on of these, but I know nothing about them.
  22. I'm glad you did that. The A2 stock should be outlawed.
  23. Correct, again. The software can be had for dirt cheap, if you take your time. Most store bought computers come with all kinds of BS software that most people will never use, and you're paying for that garbage when you buy the system. I spent a few weeks searching for deals on the software I knew I wanted. I was able to find Windows XP (No, not a pirated version) for $45 at the time. The same type of deals were found on most of the other softaware I'm using.
  24. That is some sound advice. I purchased all the components for this computer through Tiger Direct. The only problem is, a lot of their products come with mail-in rebates. In the end, this is great, but you do need to have the available cash in hand to make the initial purchase. Before rebates, I paid about $950. After the rebates, the total cost of the computer was just over $500. That was for the tower and all components, 19" LCD monitor, keyboard, and optical mouse. No, I didn't go all out on the accessories. I was more concerned about the actual performance of the computer itsself. I don't claim to have the baddest computer (it's a few years old now), but when I built it, it was FAR above anything you could buy in the store. Even for the systems that people were paying $2000+ for. Being a few years old, it lags behind many newer models, but it's still crazy powerful for what it is and what it's used for. When it's time for a new computer, I plan on going the very same route. If you're able to wait the 6-8 weeks for the rebate money, it's the best way to go, IMHO.
