  1. It's really difficult to take someone serious when they're wearing one of those goofy headsets. Just sayin'. I kid I kid...Well, kinda.
  2. Likely the fattest member of TGO, I almost wet myself from laughing so hard. Great post. And one I really should listen to.
  3. In reality, speed bumps/humps are likely going to be the only realistic option. If you can get enough neighbors to complain as well, obviously your chances of getting something done would greatly increase. I don't live in the Rutherford County area, but I'm there at least twice a week, and there seems to be no shortage of city and county LEO's driving around. You'd think this little stretch would be easy pickins for them.
  4. Hmmm.....It's like they dropped a 360 degree curb in the middle of the road. It's usually filled with grass, flowers, shrubs, or a sign. You've seen them before, I'm sure. They force you to slow down to maneuver around them. They are kinda like miniature Town Squares. That's the best I can do.
  5. Unfortunately for you and your family, this is a perfect example why both shopping at Wal-Mart and OC are bad ideas. Neither are worth the trouble.
  6. Yep, it looks as if they should expand quite nicely when you shoot yourself in the butt.
  7. +10000000000000 BL is one of the greatest shows, ever! I'm sad to see it going.
  8. Thanks! Once I can finally afford to shoot mine, I'll determine if I need to make any changes. I opted for the LMT Standard S/A BCG. To be honest, I'm not even sure what type of buffer I have. I guess I need to find out.
  9. You must be a proud owner of a Hi-Point!
  10. Question is, are there any real benefits for the average shooter? This is a serious question. I really have no idea.
  11. I lived in a residential neighborhood in Davidson County, and they opted for the Speed Humps. Unlike regular Speed Bumps, these humps were much larger in width, and not quite so high. They would require the driver to slow down, but not quite like you would going through a parking lot with regular speed bumps. These were installed before I moved to the neighborhood, so I'm unsure of the effort needed to get the city or county to put the humps in place. This particular road (Gibson Dr.) was a connector, between Due West Ave. and Old Hickory Blvd. Sounds somewhat similar to your situation. Best of luck.
  12. That is the greatest ***** ever! Nice find!
  13. Looks to be a fairly rare find. And in the Nashville area. http://www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/semi4sale.cgi?read=205873
  14. Thanks! Much appreciated!
  15. Here's a link for similar Marlin's. Many are brand new, but a few used like yours. It should give you a rough estimate. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.asp
  16. Again, I'm no expert, but I don't think the Marlin will bring AR kind of money. I'd say you would still be in the 10/22 range, with some boot. Use the boot to begin the tacticool process.
  17. Yes! Instead of taking 50% off 1 of the 2 boxes, they take 25% off both of the two. Still equals 50% off 1 of 2.
  18. Maybe a gun that's size and configuration is better suited for your hands is worth looking into.?.
  19. You can carry as many as you'd like. The State of Tennessee knows that you just may encounter this guy, and just one gun isn't going to cut it.
  20. Nice find. Of course this would happen when I can't afford it. I sure could use some AR food. Maybe next time.
  21. I'm not an expert, but I'd bet you could turn those rifles into a brand new 10/22, and likely have money left over for some nice upgrades. Sell/trade wisely, grasshopper.
  22. They should--and usually do--go bang when you pull the trigger. They will hurt if shot with one. Best of luck! Enjoy!

    XD Owners!

XD owner here! I've thought about having some trigger work done, but I decided there really wasn't any need. The trigger feels just fine to me. If you're using the gun for a defense weapon, I'd leave it as is. If you're going to use it for competition shooting, I'd at least consider a trigger job. I know a few guys who seem to do VERY well in competition with bone stock XD's. As far as ammo goes, 99% of what I use is WWB. I can honestly say that I've NEVER had a single issue with WWB ammo. That's why I continue to use it.
  24. MidwayUSA is a great company to deal with. I've never had any issues with them. As far as the ammo goes, it's like any other gun/ammo combonation. Some guns seem to eat certian ammo just fine, and not work well with others. It really depends on what your gun likes. I'd look at Wal-Mart. With that being said, I've never had any issues with American Eagle ammo, period. I'd give it a shot.
  25. Usually Wal-Mart is going to be your cheapest bet on a new Ruger 10/22. I'm not saying you can't find them cheaper, but it may not be that easy.
