The Liberal SuperMajority
TripleDigitRide replied to TGO David's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I just wish one of these politicians would actually go head-on with the real causes of our tax burdens. But that's too much like "work". Since we're on the subject of "working", how about the working class quit supporting the scumbags in the welfare system. Let them live under a bridge for a while, and maybe then they'll at least consider getting a damn job. Not likely, though. The government isn't interested in helping the working class. It's all about the super broke, or the super rich. -
Gun prices and new laws
TripleDigitRide replied to mousegunner's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Have we ever seen mandatory seizure or surrender during any firearms ban? -
Naw, just trying to educate myself as much as possible before it's time to vote. Great old-school movie, BTW!

I'm a very fat SOB, and there is NO way I could do that. I'm almost ready to puke after a 1 pound burger, fries, and drink.

I have a question for you Obama haters. Are there any negative personal and/or political qualities you see in George Bush III -- Oooops, I mean McCain?

Based on polls over the last month or so, it seems as if the last 8 years of being under a Republican ruler has forced the majority to seek out for some serious changes. There is more Blame Gaming going on between Republicans and Democrats than you'd find on a playground full of 5 year olds. It's obviously impossible for either party to take responsibility for their actions.

I wouldn't be surprised if people transfer the coupon into Paint, and remove the Buy One Get One 50% Off part. Suddeny the coupon is for 50% off total purchase.

Gun prices and new laws
TripleDigitRide replied to mousegunner's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The price will go down to the majority, but there would be a minority who would pay greatly inflated prices to get their hands on them. -

What are the problems with socialist plans?

That was the same question my father and myself had for him. He admitted to NOT seeing a gun as they were running. two black guys running away from a murder scene was all the evidence this tool needed.
-
No, I didn't. I didn't really take any as "bashing". I have thick skin (well, maybe fat skin:D), and don't get offended all that easily. I'm perfectly capabale of taking it all in stride.

I know it may not be the most important desision, but I truely want to make the best educated decision I can. Being completely bashed for my opinions and lack of understanding has really helped open my eyes to the whole process.

Very true! According to the story, a neighbor did use some sort of rifle to engage in a "gun battle" with the bad guys. My father never mentioned a "gun battle", and during several conversations, the co-worker never mentioned a "gun battle". According to my father, his co-worker told him on several occasions, the bad guys were running in the oposite direction when he decided to fire multiple rounds in their direction, wounding one. He also stated in nearly as many convorsations that the distance between him and the suspects was roughly 70-80 yards. Based on all the information my father has received from his co-worker (the shooter), my father spoke with him tonight and informed him that even though no charges have been brought against him as of yet, it may be a good idea to contact an attorney just in case the police decide to file charges.

I wasn't there, so unless my father was lying to me, it was the truth.

Based on the number of customers who seem to keep Franklin Gun Shop in business, people in that area don't seem to mind throwing money out the window.

This hardly seems like a justifiable shooting to me, but what say you? Just a few days ago, a co-worker of my fathers was at home on his computer when he heard a very loud "thud" and gunshots. He ran into the other room, grabbed his AR15, and headed out the door. When he got outside his apartment door, he noticed his neighbors door had been kicked in, and noticed he had been shot. As he looked around, he noticed 2 men running away from the building, roughly 70-80 yards away. He immediately put his sights on one of the males, shooting him in the leg. He then fired two rounds at the second male, but missed both times. Both "suspects were able to flea the area. When the police arrived, they found his neighbor dead from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. During qustioning from the police, he in fact informed them that he had shot one of the "suspects" in the leg, and both men were able to get away. From what I understand, the LEO's wrote down the serial number of the AR15, then told him to put the gun back in his apartment. No charges were filed against my fathers co-worker. Based on the facts given in the story (true story), was his co-worker justified in shooting? By the way, the police did locate one of the suspects when he checked himself into the ER with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Well I see my opinion that Obama has done a better job during the debates isn't the popular one. As I said, by no means am I dedicated to either candidate. I've dedicated enormous amounts of time over the last couple of months trying to do all the research I can on McCain and Obama. Weeding through all the bull**** isn't as easy for me as it seems for some. I'm attempting to do my very best when it comes to digging up the facts. With nearly all media outlets leaning very hard in one direction, finding unbias facts are not all that easy to come by. And trusting the information that either camp floods us with is hardly trustworthy. It's beyond obvious all politicians are masters at bending the truth to suit their needs. Not that I'm any better, but how in the heck are some of you so sure that you have the real facts on McCain and Obama? Chances are, you have no more insight than myself. You get your information from TV, newspapers, friends and coligues like most Americans. Unless some of you are privy to some inside information, you have no better idea that your facts are any better than mine. During the debates, both candidates make accusations, and undoubtedly the accused will always deny. How is the average American supposed to know who is lying and who is not? Why doesn't either candidate bring proof to the damn debates? Cold hard evidence. Something they can hold up and show us Americans who don't have official transcripts and official voting records? All this he said, he did, he didn't say, he didn't do BS is beyond irritating. Admittedly, I have not been into politics until the last few years. Admittedly, I am far from an expert (as some of you seem to be) in the ways of being 100% positive that the facts I'm using to base my decision on who I'll be voting for are in fact 100% accurate. I'm begging you to fill me in. If you can lead me in the direction of cold hard facts that aren't slanted by anyones personal agenda, that would be amazing. Facts that neither candidate can deny would be absolutely perfect. Until then, I'm going to continue to struggle with my decision.

Very well said, and I agree wholeheartedly. These are tough times, the toughest I've ever seen in my short lifetime. This will also be the most important voting decision I've had to make thus far, and it's something I have been taking very seriously. More seriously than ever, by a long shot. Like everyone else, I care about many issues, and it's become quite frustrating to deal with at times. When I step into that voting booth, I want to make what I feel is the best educated decision I can. Either way I choose, it will be a choice I'll have to live with.

Fact is, it's all a gamble. These guys can promise the American people everything and then some, but that hardly means they can or will get it done. I simply find myself agreeing with Obama on more issues than McCain at this time, not including Gun Control. I'm buying into the fact that he can get us out of the mess were in better than McCain can. A house full of guns is going to do little good if you can't afford to feed them, or yourself for that matter. Trust me, I love my guns just as much as the next guy, but I can hardly understand how anyone can believe that guns should be a #1 priority with everything we have going on in the country today. Bottom line, it's not November, 4th, and my mind is not made up 100%. At this time, I am leaning towards Obama. Knowing myself like I do, it will likely come down to a last minute decision.

I was glad to see this debate going in a slightly different direction. Even though many of the questions did little more than cover the same subjects as past debates, I felt like they had a chance to explain themselves a little more. They had a chance to possibly correct some of the not-so-true statements that have been flying around about them as of late. In all honesty, I think Obama has done a much better job. Some of the issues I've had with Obama, I'm not feeling quite so strongly after this debate. I have very strong beliefs when it comes to gun control, and this has been the main reason I've been behind McCain, but with everything that's going on it the country/world today, I have to prioritize which policies are the most important to me and my family. Even though gun control is a huge topic for me, it really isn't nearly as important as many of the more crucial topics of the day. Frankly, I find myself leaning more towards Obama, and his stance on gun control is something I think I'd be willing to chance. Like any of the many other policies he will face, just because he wants to ban certian types of guns, that hardly means in a sure bet for him and other gun haters out there. Just my 2 cents after tonights debate.

I don't have the answer, either. Have you tried calling them? I've not had great luck attempting to communicate with some companies via email. Tel: (803)736-0522
