  4. Is that legal?
  5. This is a surfire way to prevent many of our Vets from seeking much deserved/needed help for post-traumatic stress disorder. We should be proud.
  6. Through the BREAST? Even if it is a 53 year old breast, he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law for such a crime.
  7. The thread posted my RISC777 pretty well sums it up, but NO, it is not against the law to carry in a commercial vehicle. Now, you'll want to make sure (if you care) that your company doesn't have a policy against you carrying a firearm, and you'll also want to make sure you are following all fed/state/local laws while carrying. It is a common misconception amongst commercial driver (mainly OTR drivers) that there is some Federal Law that prevents you/us from carrying a firearm while on duty. There is no such law. With that being said, carrying a firearm while driving a truck OTR is probably not a good idea (if you care about the law) for many drivers, because chances are, you'll end up somehwere like Cali, Illinois, New York, etc. that won't allow you to carry even if you do have a valid HCP for your home state. I drive in TN and KY only, and my company has no rules against carrying a firearm, so I am able to do as I please. Have done so for the last 6 years with no problems, and I've been stopped in the weigh stations on many occasions. Never any trouble there either.
  8. Sounds like my 300 rounds should last me a little while then. I guess I'll hold off on getting any more, unless I come accross a sweet deal that I just can't pass up.

Glad you and the wife made it back in one piece. I don't know the story behind your missing puppy, but I'm sorry to hear about that.
  10. Yea, that's where I got the Yugo stuff from. It was a little more expensive than the Czech stuff, but cheaper than whatever else it was they had. On average, how many rounds do most people shoot during a trip to the range? I haven't had the pleasure of shooting a Mosin before, but some folks claim that it has a pretty decent thimp to it. Does that keep most from shooting it a whole lot at one time?
  11. Yet another gun that I can't wait to get out and shoot. I bought 300 rounds of some Yugo stuff, but I don't know how good it is, or how long that will last.
  12. Welcome to TGO! Enjoy your stay!
  13. Thanks for the help, guys. I think I'm going to keep #3.

  15. Academy Sports was very close to Wal-Mart on the 9mm I just bought. I paid almost $11/per 50 Remington UMC 9mm at Wal-Mart, and $56.xx/per 250 UMC 9mm at Academy.
  16. All 3 have the same front sights. Post and globe. The rear sights appear the same, but the "dragoon" is attached to the barrel by a slighlty different method.
  17. I have no idea what dragoon is, so I'm not sure that matters. All are in what appears to be very good condition. Because of the condition, I can only assume they have been refurbished.
  18. I'm not interested in making any money with them. Was just curious if I should keep one over the other. All of them appear to have super nice bores.
  19. I just called for you. They are out of the 9mm, but they have the same stuff in .40 S&W. They have about 5000+ rounds at $76.99/250 rounds. Again, probably find it cheaper, but they do have it.
  20. I was in Academy Sports in the Rivergate area a few days ago, and they had about 5000+ rounds of 9mm UMC for $56.xx/250 rounds. I'm sure you can find cheaper, but they DID have them in stock.
  21. Ok, I have 3 Mosin Hex 91/30's in front of me, and I'm trying to figure out which one (yes, just one) to keep. I've tried looking up the different marking and such, but am still a little confused. They all appear to be in about the same condition, and I'm not really sure any of the markings really matter. Just thought I'd check to see. All have matching numbers. The first one has markings like the picture below, except the date on mine is 1924. On the top of the receiver, there appears to be a Soviet Crest (somewhat faded) with a diamond below it. It also has a Ukrainian depot/refurbishment mark on the stock, like the picture below. The second one looks similar to the picture below, except the date on the one in front of me is 1934. I think there were a couple other stamps on it, but they are very hard to make out. The third one looks similar to the picture below, except the date on the one in front of me is 1933. I think there were a couple other stamps on it, but they are very hard to make out. The rear site (numbers/lines) and part of the serial number are filled with orange. There also appears to be a faded star, with the date 1933 stamped on the stock, like the picture below. The sling slots on this one have screws in them. Maybe Pre-WWII? The other Mosin's do not have the screws. That's about all I know. Anyone have any input? Thanks in advance.
  22. I'm working on it...I'm workin on it. Baby steps. If I bring them in slowly, the girlfriend may not look at me so crazy.
  23. Yea! Like I just did when someone offered to sell me his Marine Magnum for $800. I want one pretty bad, but I'm not gonna let myself pay these crazy prices. I did the same thing with the P220 I just bought. I could have easily spent $200+ more to have one right away, but I waited for the kind of deal I knew was out there.
  24. All this talk about Mosin's is getting me a little excited. According the this UPS tracking number, My Mosin and ammo should be delivered tomorrow afternoon.
