Civilians are next?
TripleDigitRide replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That makes more sense. I think. I guess giving up your rights is part of what it takes if you want to serve your country while living on base. -
I hope this isn't a repost. I did a few searches, but didn't come up with anything. This was sent to me in an email, so some of you may or may not have already had a chance to read it. It looks official, but you never know these days. Do any of you military folks know anything about this? FORWARDED AS RECEIVED . .. . .NOW IT BEGINS... Register Guns ALL ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS HEADS UP!!!! <HR align=center width="100%" SIZE=1> Gentlemen, I am an 11B currently assigned at FortCampbell . I live off post, with my firearms (which I don't bring on post for any reason). A very frightening thing happened at work yesterday. I was ordered to fill out a list containing my firearm information. This included make, model, caliber, and serial number of all firearms I currently posses. In addition, I was also required to list registration information, location of all weapons individually, and information regarding any CCW permits I posses. If you are like me, then the people you work with know you have firearms. So I had to list at least some. I tried to talk to my 1sg (who is normally approachable through proper channels) to find out what this is for, and I was basically told, ". . . . Just put your info on the form." I don't know how high this goes, but I am hearing that this is going on in other units at FortCampbell as well. It just seems a little coincidental to me that within 90 days: the most anti-firearm President in history is inaugurated, some of the nastiest anti-firearm laws are put on the table in Washington, and then the Army comes around wanting what amounts to a registration on all firearms, even if they are off post, and doesn't provide any reason or purpose as to why. I fear something really nasty is blowing in the wind here. I have been in almost 8 years, and never have any of my units asked for this information. If any of you out there have any info as to what all this crap is about please chime in. Otherwise consider yourself warned. I have already posted this on every other firearm forum I am a member of to get the word out. Here it is folks.

No shortage of shotgun shells
TripleDigitRide replied to mousegunner's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Based on my recent trips to Wal-Mart, Academy, Dicks, etc, they have plenty of the shells that I don't need/want. I've been having a heck of a time finding 00 Buck, 000 Buck, and slugs. And trying to find those shells in 3" has proven even more difficult. -
Middle TN Meet & Shoot *** MAY 16th 2009 ***
TripleDigitRide replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
It shoots far better than I can. The CBOB is officially my most accurate handgun. That thing is beyond sweet, and has an amazing trigger. Sooooo crisp! Thanks again for the ammo. I owe you one. Big time. -

Glad you all had a good time. My daughter, my boss and I all had a great time at Gallatin Gun Club. We had about 25 guns between the two of us (boss and I), and those kept us busy for about 5 1/2 hours. Far longer than we had expected. By far, the most fun was when my daughter finally got the nerve to shoot an AR. It only took about 15 seconds to talk her into it. There was a guy who had hit AR sighted in at 200 yards, and my precious baby girl hit the gong at 200 yards 4 out of 4 times. Talk about excited! I'm not sure who was more tickled, her or myself. It was great. It didn't take but about 1/2 a second for her to add an AR to her Christmas list. I'm really gonna have to remember my darn camera. These are definitely memories I will cherish for a very long time. I just wish I had the pictures to go with them. My boss brought out his new Beretta Xtrema2 12ga. with the Kick-Off system. I was really looking forward to shooting it, because it supposedly has amazing recoil reduction. I'm here to tell you, THAT IS A MAJOR CROCK OF DOO-DOO! I watched the Youtube video, and the guy was shooting one-handed and behind the back. Shooting two at a time, and all that other crazy stuff. That guy must have been using some very light loads, because with the 3 1/2's we were shooting, I never want to see another shotgun for a very long time. Talk about a bruised shoulder. We were expecting the Xtrema2 to be a real pleasure to shoot, but that couldn't have been anything further from reality. I've shot plenty of 3 1/2" shells, and this was no more pleasant than any other time. Complete BS! Even though I don't dare try to figure out how much money in ammo went down range, we had a great time. Anyway, it wasn't the TGO Meet-N-Shoot, but thought I'd share anyway. -
My daughters 10/22. She'll be shooting it at the Gallatin Gun Club today.

Wish I could make it, but my boss and I have had a trip to Gallatin Gun Club planned for the last couple months. We're gonna check out the last little bit of the Military Match, then do a little shooting ourselves. I know, I can feel the dissapointment in the air. Now worries though, I'll likely make the next one. Y'all have fun out that way. -
Holdin' out for a deal on the Katie Morgan Cyberskin, are we?
-
Buy from a pawn shop, because that's where it will end up before too long.
-
Spankwire?
-
If this same AR would have hit the market about 12 months ago, MSRP would have been about $600 cheaper. Not impressed.
-
Slingin' them gums already, eh? Welcome to TGO! Enjoy your stay!

That's what happens when you spend all your money on guns and ammo instead of paying your phone bill.

There was one main instructor, then there were a few other assistant instructors. All claimed to work for and/or had worked for Williamson County Sheriff Dept.

That's where I took my HCP class, and they never mentioned any suck law. On the other hand, they did try to push those damn badges.

The Powder River is nice. I have used it in 2 of my XD's. Same with the TFO's. Those are real nice, IMHO.

I just stopped by the Sam's Club in Rivergate, and they claim to have ethanol-free gasoline. That's right down the street from me, so I will start using them. FWIW...You do NOT have to be a Sam's Club member to buy gas there. You DO have to be a member to get the 5¢ discount.
-
I didn't realize that. I'm a member, so I'll check the Sams Club near Rivergate.
-
Does anyone know of any gas stations in the Nashville area with Ethanol-Free gasoline? Any in the Hendersonville area would be best, but any will do. Thanks in advance.

I'd also love to urge everyone to consider becoming a TGO Benefactor. It's a great way to show your support and get in on those amazing deals at Hero-Gear. Heck, if that's not enough, there's always the Girls and Guns (or something like that) thread that can only be seen by the lucky Benefactors. That alone is worth the price of admission. Donate Today!

Charlie is often hanging around the range. If he's not there, just walk up the little path at the end of the range. His house is on the other side of the trees. There may be a phone number, but I don't know it.
-
The gun club is no longer affiliated with the range. The land owner, Charlie, has the range open for business. He is a great guy. The yearly membership for the range is $40. And like I said before, well worth it, IMHO.

No problem here. I was just surprised to learn that some of us couldn't edit our posts. I figured it was a simple oversight.
