I'm Fat. Very fat. It's my own fault. Yes, I can eat a lot, but it's more what I eat, rather than how much of it I decide to shovel in my fat face. Sometimes I will eat far too much food that's bad for me. On top of that, I am lazy. If I'm not at work, 9 times out of 10 you'll find my fat a$$ sitting in front of this computer. No need to throw around a bunch of excuses of why I have let myself get this fat, because fact is, there is no excuse. By the way, I walked nearly 1 1/2 miles today when I got home from work, and I plan on doing it several times per week. No it's not a record, but it's nearly 1 1/2 more miles than I've walked in quite a while. It's simply something I need to do. I don't want to die of a heart attack before I get the chance to pick up a few sleezy chics on my new motorcycle. Heck, the bike is going to have a hard enough time draggin' my fat a$$ around, it surely wouldn't be able to handle another person. To answer your question, most people are fat for the very same reasons that I am. It's actually pretty simple. Eating too much of the wrong foods and not getting enough exersize.

My Grandfather uses one of these. He lives somewhere between 1/4 and a 1/2 mile off the road, and is in a heavily wooded area. With this set-up, "line of site" is no issue. The signal is plenty strong for the terrain. Of course, it's not as cheap as some of those others, but it looks like most of them are only good for 500-700 feet, max. http://www.absoluteautomation.com/dakotaalert/index.html He purchased a unit with the handheld receiver, so he's able to carry it with him while he's in his shop or garage. Many have a base station that requires you to be inside the home to hear it.

Rightwinger is the local Helpful AR Man! I still owe him a few magazines worth of ammo shootin' through my AR. I haven't forgotten.

I'd order a stronger spring, but in the meantime, you can stretch the factory spring to make it work again.

Good point. I was talking with a friend about that very subject. Why are these tactics only used at the Federal/Military level? Surely our local authorities could benefit from the same tactics. Just imagine how many murderers, child molester and rapists they could put behind bars with a little waterboarding and sleep deprivation.

Happy Memorial Day! There are a few fallen Tennesseans mentioned in this video. YouTube - Some Gave All - A Tribute to Our Fallen

That's great! Glad to see so many helping Caleb.

The peeling paint on the inside of the receiver is normal. Same thing happened on my daughters 10/22. I haven't gone out of my way to remove it, but do make sure to clean it well after each trip to the range. A little more comes loose with each trip. She's only used Remington Thunderbolt and CCI, and she's never had a single issue. She also uses only the factory magazines. There are endless aftermarket options, and RFC Home is the best place for info about 10/22's.

I love listening to politicians (or ex-politicians) talk to the American people as if they are complete morons. They can try wrapping it up with a pretty pink bow, give it all kinds of warm and fuzzy names, but torture is torture. By definition, the tactics described in the 'Torture Memos' released by the DOJ are in fact torture. There's no two-ways about it. Weather or not these tactics should or shouldn't be used is another debate, but I wish they would just call a spade a spade. Cheney just went on and on about the current administration playing word games with the American people, yet he just made a 35 minute speech doing the very same thing. And when in the hell are these people gonna to start giving a speech that comes from the heart? Something in their own words. I can understand following along to some bullet points, but do they really need someone to write out their entire speech? If you watch all four videos, you'll spend 30 of those 35 minutes looking at the top of his fat, bald head, because he can't simply speak his own mind.

Guess you can learn a lot down on the farm...

Although I don't share their views on the subject, that was a great video. Very funny. Thanks for sharing. -
I didn't see anything I needed that someone else already hasn't taken, but I thought I'd post this up just in case I do see something in the future. Plus, I just have no need for it. 32 rounds of WWB 230gr JHP .45 GAP. I'd rather do a FTF transaction if at all possible.

Did I read that right? Eight THOUSAND rounds down the pipe? To some that may not be a lot, but I don't think I have 8K through all of my guns, combined. She looks nice.

All this talk about the price of $279 for a mug probably isn't a good thing. The folks who paid $70+ more may get upset. Plus, bashing the price of a vendors item isn't going to score any brownie points either.

Hey, if that's what they are now, I think the price dropped from $349. So, a mug for $279 is a steal.

I found the safe I wanted, and found the best price at Academy Sports. No one else was even close. I'm beyond please with the purchase.

At first thought, I would suggest the Springfield EMP 9mm with laser grips. That's about the most compact and lightest 1911 that I can think of right off the top of my head. I can't think of a compact 1911 that has a rail for mounting a laser, so I suggested the laser grips. And now that I think about it, I'm not even sure you can get laser grips for the EMP. Kimber 1911 Compact, Ultra Carry and Ultra Elite, Springfield 1911 Compact, V10, Ultra Compact, etc are a few options that you can find laser grips for. Then, you'll have to hunt one down in 9mm for the lower recoil.

Does she need a fishing buddy? I kid...I kid. That is a touching story. With all the crazy things kids seem to get into these days, the fact that she's interested in fishing is great. And the fact that you're able to help her is even better. Congrats!

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, JP. You and your family will be in our thoughs. If there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
