  1. Congrats on your purchase. Sounds like everything worked out for the best.
  2. That sucks. I actually enjoy the hotwings at hooters. Did anyone carry during the dinner? Were they asked to leave?
  3. In all fairness, the kid said that he didn't realize that gasoline was "explosive", not flammable. It's pretty evident that he knew the gasoline was going to be flammable, but maybe he didn't realize the fumes could/would cause an explosion. Either way, it was a very stupid move, Especially on the part of his Father.
  4. Whatchu talkin bout, Willis?
  5. That one looks great. The mounts my Uncle has are not quite that white. There's no doubt they are white, but looks like the peroxide method is a great idea.
  6. I've never done it, but my Uncle has several that he got when my Grandfather passed away. My Uncle says they are every bit of 35 years old, and they still look great. He says my Grandfather let them dry for 3 or 4 weeks before spraying/brushing a clear lacquer over the entire thing. They have a nice matte finish, but there are several sheen levels to choose from.
  7. Congrats! If you want to improve -- PRACTICE. You're off to a great start. If you were shooting a BG, he would be history.
  8. Exactly what kind of ammo were you using?
  9. I'm happy to hear they are not posted, but +1. Still won't be visiting them.
  10. It's too bad that you're being forced to leave Tennessee. We hope you can return very soon. Best wishes on your venture.
  11. My motorcycle still isn't ready, but even if you're not comfortable using your regular holster, there are several options.
  12. Sorry, not a new gun. Both my girlfriend and daughter have been "hounding" me for quite some time about getting a dog. His name is Grizwald. He's a 7-week-old Basst Hound, and just as I expected, he became my second full-time job. It's alright, because he's also become a real chick magnet around the neighborhood. Anyway, here are a few crappy pictures. My daughter is out of town on vacation, and couldn't wait another second for me to email her some better pictures.
  13. Welcome to TGO! Enjoy your stay!
  14. Richard Christy and Sal 'The Stockbroker' Governale put together some of the best prank calls out there. Gotta love the Stern Show.
  15. Tell her not to sweat it. If she's breathing and practices basic firearms safety, she'll likely pass with flying colors. It's pretty darn easy. Plus, she doesn't have to score 100%. Another range trip could never hurt, but there was more than one person in my class who'd never stepped foot on a range, and they passed with ease. Most of the shots will be fired from within 21 feet or so. Many of which will be far closer. Tell her to take her time and concentrate on her shooting, not how others are doing. She doesn't have to rush through it. Everything is very basic. There will be no tacticool cartwheel shots, or shooting from behind trash dumpsters. Simply stand still while shooting at a stationary target that's nearly the size of an average person. When it's over, she'll laugh at herself for stressing over it so much. Best of luck to both of you. Keep us posted.
  16. Between the two, it's all about what YOU like and prefer. Either would be a good choice.
  17. I'm biased. I love the XD. Anything I saw will skew heavily toward the XD, though I think the M&P is a fine gun and probably just as reliable or accurate. I just likes me my XD!
  18. Welcome to TGO! Enjoy your stay!
  19. One thing's for sure -- The man has passion.
  20. Welcome to TGO! Enjoy your stay!
  21. +1 How that place is still in business is beyond me.
  22. I like Neely's and Famous Dave's.
  23. With the recent craze to buy every firearms related item known to man, this is not a big surprise. Many manufacturers have run into similar issues. You'll just have to wait it out. You'll get them.
  24. As far as a lube goes, I have used nothing but Militec-1 for quite a while. I know there are many other options people use, but with the results I've seen with my personal firearms, I have no desire to change what I'm using.
  25. Seems like this is becoming common practice all over the state. Everyone seems to want out.
