  1. Tell her not to sweat it. If she's breathing and practices basic firearms safety, she'll likely pass with flying colors. It's pretty darn easy. Plus, she doesn't have to score 100%. Another range trip could never hurt, but there was more than one person in my class who'd never stepped foot on a range, and they passed with ease. Most of the shots will be fired from within 21 feet or so. Many of which will be far closer. Tell her to take her time and concentrate on her shooting, not how others are doing. She doesn't have to rush through it. Everything is very basic. There will be no tacticool cartwheel shots, or shooting from behind trash dumpsters. Simply stand still while shooting at a stationary target that's nearly the size of an average person. When it's over, she'll laugh at herself for stressing over it so much. Best of luck to both of you. Keep us posted.
  2. Between the two, it's all about what YOU like and prefer. Either would be a good choice.
  3. I'm biased. I love the XD. Anything I saw will skew heavily toward the XD, though I think the M&P is a fine gun and probably just as reliable or accurate. I just likes me my XD!

  5. One thing's for sure -- The man has passion.

  7. +1 How that place is still in business is beyond me.
  8. I like Neely's and Famous Dave's.
  9. With the recent craze to buy every firearms related item known to man, this is not a big surprise. Many manufacturers have run into similar issues. You'll just have to wait it out. You'll get them.
  10. As far as a lube goes, I have used nothing but Militec-1 for quite a while. I know there are many other options people use, but with the results I've seen with my personal firearms, I have no desire to change what I'm using.
  11. Seems like this is becoming common practice all over the state. Everyone seems to want out.
  12. TPS -TNRobocop just posted some good deals on PMAG's. Better get them while they last. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/gear-classifieds/24249-cleaning-out-gun-gear-locker-part-1-a.html
  13. You pretty well already have a general idea of your options, but I'll ask anyway. What is the intended purpose of the AR? And a picture of the rifle would be good.
  14. So, you have no front site at all?
  15. I just wish all the companies had the same damn phones. Due to the monthly cost for my needs, it looks like I'm going to likely stick with Sprint. After all the rebates, the Palm Pre will be $199, but with the threat of losing me when my contract ends in 2 months, I'm pretty sure I can get it for cheaper.
  16. +1 I have no real need for BUIS, but I'm going to get me a set of the MBUS sooner or later, just for the heck of it.
  17. I'm in that area (Dickson, Bon Aqua, Lyles, Charlotte, Only) every Thursday, and I haven't noticed any issues with my Treo. My Nextel does have some issues though.
  18. Yea, but how long is the rail? You don't want the front and rear rights to be 4"-5" apart, do you? I could be wrong, but I assumed he was talking about the rail on the upper receiver.
  19. Personally, I say yes. But I'm not a fan of the P345 at all, and I am of the XD. The XD40 4" Service Model is my EDC.
  20. I've owned several XD's, and I still do. I'm a big fan. Good trade, if you ask me.
  21. Rifle scope. And that's not really a front site. The front site is generally mounted towards the end of the barrel.
  22. I thought about that, but to get a similar plan to the one I have now would cost $50-$60 extra per month.
  23. Just got off the phone with Verizon, and they were in the same ballpark as AT&T -- About $150/month for unlimted everything. A complete ripoff, when I can get the same exact thing from Sprint for $50-$60 less/month. The video camera capabilities isn't worth that.
  24. The last several times I was in The outpost, they had TONS of PMAGS for about $18. It's been a couple months since I've stopped by there, but they had plenty. I ordered some PMAGS from AimSurplus for $14.02/Shipped.
