I've used a 10/22 with a Timney trigger, and it was a very nice feeling trigger. No experience with one on an AR platform. I'm sure it's equally as nice. Worth the money? Well, I opted for the Rock River Arms 2-stage. So, no, it wasn't worth it for me.

Plus, I'd hate to be the poser who wears harley boots while riding my Jap bike. I was just looking at the Hero-Gear website. They have some that may foot the bill. Still pushing the $100 mark, but we'll see. If I wasn't in such a hurry today, I would have stopped by there while running my route. Maybe that will give me an excuse to ride the bike to Winchester. I looked at some Herman Survivors at Wal-Mart, but the quality didn't seem to be what they once were. Mainly the sole. Looked and felt cheap. The price was tempting, though. On the other hand, you often get what you pay for.

Anyone know where I can find reasonably priced LEO/Military-type boots, locally? I plan on using the as riding (motorcycle) boots, so I'd like them to be waterproof and comfortable. Not really interested in the basic combat boots. I've seen some that would work, but I'd rather not spend $100+, if I can help it.

You always have the option of not reading the threads related to Frank. That's usually what I do if a thread doesn't interest me.

I wasn't trying to give him a hard time. All these people are out lots of hard earned money, and I'm sure they would appreciate any and all answers they can get at this time. If any of you were out your hard-earned money, I doubt you'd be nearly as eager to stand up and defend Frank, in any capacity. I don't condone physical violence, but I'm sure people are upset and looking to vent some of there frustrations by way of posting on these forums. I think most of us can say we've acted in a similar fashion at one time or another, especially when it comes to being ripped off.

It very well may be. I'm not that familiar those type of firearms. If it were mine, I think I'd remove the barrel just to see if there were any markings on the underside.

That's going to be the problem with identifying the gun. Based on what I've been reading, many folks made other modifications when doing the conversion. This was their way of "sporterizing" back in the day. They would remove parts, cut barrels and stock, etc. So, the gun you have now, may look very little like it did in its original condition.

How about a picture of the end of the barrel/stock.

I lived in the Cookeville area for a while, but I had a similar problem. There were jobs to be had back then, but none of them wanted to pay worth a damn. I had no choice but to leave for much more money. I deliver to several flooring stores and cabinet shops that may be looking for help, but since you're in school during the day, that probably wouldn't help much either.
