  1. The "holes" in the locking ring are just dimples. It also has slots. I have a feeling I'm going to need to do the same as you did. I'll tighten the locking ring first, then the retaining/set screw, even if I need to use a little extra persuasion.
  2. The retaining screw looks like the one pictured here... Half threads, half nipple.
  3. I thought that's what I did. I tightened the barrel nut, installed the gas tube/gas block, installed the muzzle device, screwed on the quad rail, installed the retaining screw on the bottom side of the rail, then tightened the locking ring. Hmmm! As I'm typing this, I wonder if I should have tried tightening the locking ring before installing the retaining screw. When installing the rail, I was able to screw it on enough so that there was almost zero gap between the rail sections. However, this would not allow me to install the retaining screw, so I had to back the rail off one turn. For some reason, I am thinking the retaining wouldn't screw in with the rails properly aligned, but I'll go back and double check.
  4. Yes, the barrel nut has holes for the gas tube. I don't think there's enough room for adjustment to compensate for the amount the the rails are offset.
  5. My thoughts, but he's concerned about it.
  6. The upper is the TGO CMT upper, and I believe the rail is an inexpensive Omega. I'll double check that.
  7. Wouldn't this create an issue with achieving proper alignment of the BUIS?
  8. I'm assembling an AR for a friend, and I can't seem to get the quad rail and upper receiver to line up any better. I think I'm trying everything, but I very well could be missing something. It will line up, until I tighten the retaining screw in the bottom of the quad rail.
  9. In case you weren't aware, you can rent one from U-Haul, Penske, etc.
  10. I have a box dolly, appliance dolly, and a few 4-wheel dollies. I work near Elm Hill Pike and Briley Parkway. If you can swing by to get them and bring them back when you're done, let me know which day is best for you. I work Monday through Thursday, 7am-5pm.
  11. Just saw this on Bud's website:  Now Accepting Reserve Orders for the NEW GLOCK 43 9MM! ONLY $474.00 Delivered!
  12. Someone said they picked one up at Goodlettsville Gun Shop for $580 out the door.
  13. People are crazy for this gun because it's a new Glock. Hell, Glock put out a .380 that was as large as several 9mm options, and the fanbois still trampled all over each other to get one before they even it the shelves. Like the G42, you'll see many of the G43's hitting the secondary market almost as fast as they left the store shelves. Many will quickly realize that they only THOUGHT they just had to have the 43.
  14. No, I haven't done anything. I thought about having some additional plastic moisture barrier put down, but haven't gotten that far yet. The rep said it would probably be another several years before it may need to be done again.
  15. The same fungus was found in our house during the home inspection. The rep for the company said this is very common in most parts of Tennessee, due to the humidity. The previous homeowner had the issue resolved before we purchased the home. She paid $400 to have it cleaned up.
  16. Every one of those officers deserve an award, promotion, and a raise for not killing every one of those dirtbags.
  17. I'm all for dead criminals, but this was murder. He should have chosen a better time to dump lead into the bad guy.
  18. Do you even need sights on a belly gun like the LCP?

  20. I just found out that I will not be able to attend this event. I have offered my two passes to another member, but it appears as those he may have already found a pass. If he does not need the two passes, I will gladly give them to another member. I should know something shortly.
  21. I pre-registered long after most of you, and I received my stuff a week or so ago. Registered: 07 March 2015 - 07:56 PM
  22. Ah, i hadn't made it that far. A quick search turned up this... http://www.scribd.com/doc/252238641/Matchbox-Rocket-Template#scribd

  24. While I'd likely wear a helmet, with or without the law, I do believe everyone should have the option to make that choice for themselves. My father lives in a State where there is no helmet law, and he chooses not to wear one. This concerns me, but it's his decision to make.
  25. I'll pay the $30-$40, but I'll be pissed off while doing it.
