That sucks. May want to keep an eye on ###.com.

Sounds good. Thanks a bunch.

The drain I see is PVC. Appears to be 4"-6" dia. (didn't pay close attention, and didn't measure), but that's only what I can see coming out of the ceiling and through the basement wall.
-
Based on what she just told me, it sounds like the main drain line is clogged. She went to the main drain line in the basement that leads outside, and she can hear water dripping inside the line. But both tubs are still full of water.

Ok, I will let them know. They usually go to church on Sunday's, but I can meet you there if needed. What time do you think you'll be up and running in the morning?
-
There is only 1 unit. I will let them know about the Emergency and Auxiliary.
-
Ok, I will give them your number. Any idea when you may have time?

Some very close friends of mine finally were able to move into their very first home today. What was supposed to be a wonderful day for them has quickly turned into one frustration after another. HVAC Issue It didn't take long for them to realize something something may not be quite right with the heating unit. The unit is running just about non-stop, and it doesn't appear to be pushing very much warm air into the upstair of the house. Being the non-expert I am, I thought I'd take a look to see if I could find any problem. I did notice the unit was forcing pleny of air into the few vents in the basement, but for some reason that air wasn't making it to the upstairs vents, only feet away. There was some air coming out of the upstairs vents, but very, very little. I decided to close the three downstairs vents, just to see if that would force air to and through the upstairs vents. There was no noticeable difference in the amount of air flow to the upstairs. Plumbing Issue(s) There happens to be a handful of plumbing issues, but I'm going to stick the the main issue. I noticed what appears to be a small water leak in the basement ceiling (smaller issue). While attempting to track down the source of the leak, we noticed a larger problem. The water seems to be backing up in a few of the drains -- mainly the two upstairs bathrooms. While loooking for the source of the leak -- thought to be the bathroom directly above the wet spot on the basement ceiling -- I turned on the bathroom sink faucets, bathtub faucets, and flushed the toilet. I Immediately noticed the bathtub was draining very, very slowly. I then heard a gurgling/bubbling type noise coming from the toilet. I turned around to see large air bubbles coming up through the toilet as it was filling and nearly overflowing with water. The water appeared to be clean and clear. She just called me in tears telling me that they have noticed even more issues with the plumbing. When her daughter began to drain the bath water from the bathtub (same tub I was just talking about), the water began to backup into the bathtub in the master bath. The water doesn't appear to be draining very quickly -- if at all -- out of either tubs now. Anyone have any ideas, or do we have any HVAC or Plumbers in the house? They live in White House, on the border of White House and Hendersonville. They don't expect anything for free, but they are somewhat limited on funds after just moving into their first home today.

Same thing here in Hendersonville. Lucky for me, I get to help my friends move to their new home today.

When a Serviceman/woman screws up with an M16, it's on the taxpayers dime. When the same person screws up in a rental car, it's on a private companys dime. Most of us are well aware of the level of disregard the government has with our money.

Law Will Strengthen 'Crooks With Guns' Legislation - Nashville News Story - WSMV Nashville NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A measure that seeks to crack down on violent crime in Tennessee is among a number of new laws taking effect Friday. The legislation builds on the "Crooks with Guns" law passed during the 2007 Tennessee General Assembly. It adds a minimum of six years to the sentence of a person who has a gun while committing a felony or attempting to escape. And violators who possess a firearm while attempting first-degree murder would get the extra time plus at least three to five years more depending on whether they have a prior record. The original "Crooks with Guns" legislation made it an additional offense to be armed with a firearm when committing felonies such as aggravated and especially aggravated kidnapping, burglary, carjacking, voluntary manslaughter and certain drug crimes. Tennessee ranks second in the nation in the number of violent crimes and about 67 percent of those convicted of such crimes are re-arrested within three years of being released from prison, statistics show. "This is an additional tool for the judicial system and law enforcement," said Maggi McLean Duncan, executive director of the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police. "Re-offenders are responsible for committing a larger percentage of crimes. Law enforcement's goal is to limit the number of victims in our communities and create safe environments for our citizens." Another law taking effect with the start of 2010 requires the state Health Department to try to award contracts to public clinics before seeking out private entities such as Planned Parenthood, which supports abortion. The Republican-supported legislation was prompted by a video on the Internet that shows an allegedly pregnant 14-year-old being coached by a Planned Parenthood counselor in Memphis to lie about the age of her boyfriend to avoid legal scrutiny and get an abortion without her parents' knowledge. Currently, the organization receives about $1.2 million that's divided among Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee and Memphis Regional Planned Parenthood. None of the money that the group receives from the state can be used for abortions, but it does help subsidize birth control and other reproductive health care. Similar GOP proposals had failed in the past. Also on Jan. 1, a law will take effect to help prevent the accidental or intentional poisoning of people, pets and other animals as a result of ingesting antifreeze or engine coolants. The law requires manufacturers to add a bittering agent. Without it, antifreeze has a sweet aroma and flavor. Ethylene glycol, a key ingredient in antifreeze, is toxic to humans and animals. Manufacturers that don't comply with the law will be penalized. Tennessee legislators proposed the measure after Sevierville resident Haley Ham contacted them about her two dogs being intentionally poisoned by antifreeze. "Obviously, I'm proud," Ham said of the law. "I just wanted justice."

Yea, I was just as hooked. I kept telling myself to stop, but the anticipation of what might be just around the corner got the best of me.

Man, that sucks. Any one of us could be next. Our government keeps telling us how the economy is getting better, so I'm always surprised when I hear/read about those who continue to lose their jobs. Best of luck in you hunting.
-
Yes, I think you are correct. That's what I thought, too. Only one I've ever seen with valet parking.
-
Tennessee is being well represented.
-
Just go up there. You'll see a short path through the trees at the far end of the parking area/range. Charlie lives in the house at the end of the path.

Sounds good. Thanks for joining.

Are you interested in being the are leader/contact for Nashville, or a crew member?
-
I was - and still may, if needed - take charge of the Nashville/Davidson County area, but I think it would be more beneficial for someone who actually lives in that County to take over leadership. I would then work on my area, Sumner County. If anyone would like to take charge of the Davidson County crew, please let us know ASAP.

Glad to hear you were able to get the job done. Congrats!

He seems to be a real classy guy. Not sure I could have been so kind.

I don't think a discount should be expected or asked for, but I don't have an issue with those business owners who decide to offer some sort of a discount. The whole "dangerous job" always seems to puzzle me, though. Statistically, LEO's and Firefighters rarely rank in the top 10, and if they do, they're almost always at the bottom. Based on most of the search results (dangerous jobs) I've been able to find, trash collectors, farmers, truck drivers, general laborers, and loggers always rank far higher on the 'danger list' than LEO's and Firefighters. And many of the higher ranked dangerous jobs have lower salaries. If we're giving out discounts based solely on danger, there should be several other occupations added to the list.
