  1. +1 It wasn't asked, but just in case you ever wonder, minimum barrel lenght on a shotgun is 18". But like SBR's (Short Barrel Rifles), with a little paperwork and extra cash you can legally own a shotgun with a barrel shorter than 18".
  2. Just returned home from seeing Avatar. I thought the movie itself was pretty darn good, but the 3D experience was great. Not usually my "type" of movie, but I'm very glad I made the decision to see it, especially in 3D. The only issue I had wasn't with the movie itself, but rather the IMAX theater. This is only the second IMAX theater I've been in, and the Opry Mills IMAX didn't even compare to the IMAX in Chicago. The IMAX theater in Chicago had/has a screen that is somewhat dome-shaped, and it was more or less on the ceiling. When reclined (way back) in your seat, you saw nothing but screen. Your perifial vision did not see any walls or blackness -- it was all screen. All in all we really enjoyed the movie, and didn't walk away feeling like we were ripped off. Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn't spend the extra money for this IMAX theater, but no regrets.
  3. They may be very nice people, but whoever was video-taped at the gun show did a great disservice to all law-abiding gun owners and dealers. Based on the current info I have to go by, I would not, nor would I encourage anyone to do business with them.
  4. They were caught on video, participating in some questionable activity/sales practices. it was part of Michael Bloomberg's Gun Show Undercover
  5. One young lady appears to be rather excited about showing off her Colt Peacekeeper .357
  6. I've been to countless Internet forums, and none even come close to the TGO experience. Not only are the people far better, but the forum itself is designed far better than anything I've seen. David has done a great job.
  7. Any chance The Armory Gun Shop in Lebanon is owned by the same people who got banned/in trouble at the Smyrna(?) gun show? I only ask because they use the same type of "racks" to hang their firearms from. I'm sure it's a coincidence, but that's the first thing that came to mind.
  8. Of course no one at the Love Shack thought you had a gun, they assumed the "bulge" was nothing more than your happiness to see them.
  9. Just purchased and printed tickets for Avatar: An IMAX 3D Experience. I'm not sure how much better the IMAX 3D experience will be versus regular 3D, but I decided to spend the few extra buck to find out. I'll know more this afternoon.
  10. I saw the Armory in Lebanon, but was in the semi, so I wasn't able to stop. I didn't know there was another on Hartman. Where is the shop in Gallatin? Miracle Ford is not ringing a bell.
  11. If I'm in a state that allows me to carry, I generally place my firearm in a leather pouch that's mounted on my handlebars. If I'm in a state that does not allow me to carry, I generally remove the ammo and/or magazine from the firearm and keep in seperate saddle bags.
  12. If they are not posted, you are allowed to carry.
  13. Any "Metal" fans? A college near my hometown has a weekly radio show - Precious Metal - every Thursday night. The show is from 8:00pm 'till 10:00pm. The DJ is a little goofy, but he does play some great old-school metal. http://www.wonc.org/
  14. Yes, but they can't dectect exact vehicles. They are used to detect traffic flow. This alerts TDOT/TDOT HELP Veicles, emergency personel to possible accidents, broken down vehicle, etc. This sysyem also helps them determine the travel time - often seen on the overhead traffic information signs along the Interstate and other major highways.
  15. I'm pretty sure they are TDOT's SafeWay traffic flow sensors.
  16. I talked with him again. He already tried on the of magazines from e-gunparts.com, but it was about 1/16 larger than the magwell, plus there was a notch (or something) that appeared to be 1/4"-1/2" off in one direction.
  17. The K31 was given to him after his Father passed, so he knows nothing about the rifles history. He just knows it didn't come to him with a magazine.
  18. Thanks for the info.
  19. Thank You! I sent him the links. He mentioned that he had purchased 2 of these magazines in the past from some websites, but for some reason they wouldn't work. He was trying to explain why they wouldn't work, but I didn't quite understand. I guess it was something to do with a notch or tab or something on the magazine that was preventing it from working properly. He did mention he paid sixty-something dollars for them, but couldn't recall the site where he purchased them.
  20. I'm at work, so I haven't had a chance to search the Interwebs. My boss is looking for at least one magazine for his K31. Anyone have one or know where he can buy one? I'm in Middle Tennessee and he's in Memphis, so if anyone in these areas has one, a deal may be able to be worked out. Thanks in advance.
  21. I think Ribeye steaks are from the less fatty end of the rib roast, and Prime Rib steaks are from the fattier end.
  22. Thanks! Wonder if I can get a semi near his location. I'll check it out.
  23. What and where is that? I'll be in Murfreesboro tomorrow.
  24. I've seen Prime Rib roasts, but never thought about asking the meat department for special cuts. I'll do that. I'm going to be cooking Valentine Day dinner, and only need a couple nice steaks, but sounds like I may need to buy the roast and have it cut.
  25. Does anyone know where I can buy Prime Rib STEAKS (not roast), other than a restaurant? I can't recall ever seeing Prime Ribe steaks in the local grocery stores, but maybe I'm wrong. By the way, this needs to be in the Middle Tennessee area.
