  1. There was no question about denying the theater, because I wasn't at a theater. I was at lunch and have provided my bank statement to prove it. There is no doubt things have gone this far because our boss is covering his own ass. Taking the fall for the mistake of someone else is a problem for me. As it stands, I may have little choice. I am a single father with zero help/support, so I cant really afford to lose my job in the curent economy. I'll probably be forced to suck it up, but bitching about it seems to help a little.
  2. Nope. I even made the worlds fattest snow angel in hopes it would distract me from this BS. I thought it worked, until I stood up and noticed the snow angel was flipping me the bird with both wings.
  3. I wouldn't have lied anyway, but there was no getting out of the fact that I took a long lunch. Two of our trucks are equipped with a Qualcomm system - a GPS type device - and mine is one of them. They can see where I am at all times. I would have been a complete moron to be taking a long lunch if I thought there was a problem with it. I've been well aware for years that they have the ability to track my every move. It's just a little difficult for me to comprehend how we can get in trouble for something our boss told us was OK. How the hell are we supposed to know what his boss tells him? Most of us have never even met his boss. I've been there for 7 years, and I don't recall ever meeting this woman. Seems like my boss should be taking the hit for allowing us to extend our days to get 40 hours if the company had an issue with it. He has lead all of us drivers to believe that the company understood that we needed our full 40 hours. He is the person the company has designated our superior. He is the only person we have ever had to answer to. We have zero contact with his boss, who's over 200 miles away in Memphis.
  4. I almost wish I had that luxury right about now.
  5. At this point, the stress level I'm at because of this situation is my immediate concern. I can't pinpoint which aspect of the situation has caused this stress, or if it's several aspects combined. I've had to deal with some crazy things in my life, and I don't ever recall being stressed to the point of losing sleep. I haven't been able to get a good nights sleep in days. If this BS wasn't started because of a lie, I'm not sure I would be quite so upset, but nevertheless, I am.
  6. I'm on the poor-man's yearly program.
  7. Sounds like typical politics to me. I'd be willing to bed there have been a few Republicans who've acted in a similar manner. Obama and/or any other President can make all the changes he/she wants, but nothing is going to change until some serious changes are made within the government itself. And because that would require most politicians to reduce the amount of "perks" THEY receive, that's not likely to happen any time soon.
  8. The snow has really started coming down again. I think it's faaling harder than it has all day. Still has some sleet mixed in.
  9. If you really wanted to take one for the team, you'd remove the firearms from your avatar. They are blocking my view.
  10. Now that the sun has set and temps have dropped, the road is now covered. We are currently seeing a mixture of snow and sleet.
  11. Two swastikas down from your friend, Hitler. YouTube - Hitler responds to the iPad
  12. My co-worker finally made it from Nashville to his home in Manchester. Over 4 1/2 hours. He says they have 4-5 inches of snow so far.
  13. A co-worker left Nashville - headed home - just before noon, and he just got to the Manchester exit. That's nearly 4 hours to get about 60 miles.
  14. How are you people measuring the snow? Is there really "inches" of accumulation in spots?
  15. Snow is coming down slightly heavier than it has been all day. Dusing on the vehicles and a little in the grass, but the pavement is still only wet.
  16. There are several items that easily have a several-hundred percent mark-up by the time they hit retail shelves. Because of the industries my girlfriend and I are in, I can tell you that flooring and mattresses seem to be some of the highest. For example; the company my girlfriend works for can sell a particular mattress and boxspring set to a retail store for a few hundred dollars, and it's not uncommon to see that retail store selling the same bed for 5-6 times as much as they paid for it. I have a friend who works for a greeting card company, and he claims the mark-up can be as high as 1000%. I have no idea what it costs to manufacture a gun, so I'm not sure guns are the same way. I wouldn't imagine so.
  17. If it snows to the point of needing a shovel to get out of the drive, I will push a little harder on the gas pedal. If all else fails, my butt will be staying right here at the house.
  18. I was always under the impression they could tell future employers weather or not you're eligible for re-hire.
  19. I-65 is shut down near 100 Oaks area, and some of the businesses are sending everyone home. Just a small dusting of snow in the here in Hendersonville.
  20. It just irritates me that I'm being forced to provide my personal banking information to prove that I was where I said I was.
  21. I don't think the email was sent via a company computer. If I had to guess, someone created a Gmail, Yahoo, etc. account and sent it from home.
  22. Oh well, what can I do now?
  23. Snow and sleet near Trinity Lane and Brick Church Pike, and snow coming down in Hendersonville.
  24. If I get such a letter, the co-worker I was eating lunch with will also get one.
  25. Venting has really helped. I'm feeling better already.
