Snow is coming down slightly heavier than it has been all day. Dusing on the vehicles and a little in the grass, but the pavement is still only wet.

There are several items that easily have a several-hundred percent mark-up by the time they hit retail shelves. Because of the industries my girlfriend and I are in, I can tell you that flooring and mattresses seem to be some of the highest. For example; the company my girlfriend works for can sell a particular mattress and boxspring set to a retail store for a few hundred dollars, and it's not uncommon to see that retail store selling the same bed for 5-6 times as much as they paid for it. I have a friend who works for a greeting card company, and he claims the mark-up can be as high as 1000%. I have no idea what it costs to manufacture a gun, so I'm not sure guns are the same way. I wouldn't imagine so.

If it snows to the point of needing a shovel to get out of the drive, I will push a little harder on the gas pedal. If all else fails, my butt will be staying right here at the house.

I was always under the impression they could tell future employers weather or not you're eligible for re-hire.

I-65 is shut down near 100 Oaks area, and some of the businesses are sending everyone home. Just a small dusting of snow in the here in Hendersonville.

It just irritates me that I'm being forced to provide my personal banking information to prove that I was where I said I was.

I don't think the email was sent via a company computer. If I had to guess, someone created a Gmail, Yahoo, etc. account and sent it from home.

Oh well, what can I do now?

Snow and sleet near Trinity Lane and Brick Church Pike, and snow coming down in Hendersonville.

If I get such a letter, the co-worker I was eating lunch with will also get one.

Venting has really helped. I'm feeling better already.

The only thing about letting it blow over is, how do you deal with a BS Letter of Repremand? Just deal with it? All I can think about is the million ways it can come back to bite me in that ass. I'm sure I'll get over it sooner or later, but I'm really pissed at the moment.

I'm trying very hard to be calm about the situation, but it's really bothering me far more than I would have thought. I know I should probably let it go, but knowing that I'm working with someone on a daily basis who is willing to do this type of thing. We have a fairly small number of employees, and that makes it even more difficult to stomach.

I'm kinda kidding, but I am so damn pissed right now that I almost may be a little serious. I'm not exactly sure why I am so livid, but I can't help myself at the moment. This has been going on since Monday. Basically, on or about 1/18/10 a co-worker of mine/family member of co-worker (not sure who) sent an anonymous email to our corporate office, telling them that they witnessed another driver and I walking into a movie theater while on the clock and driving a company vehicle. This was a complete lie. NEVER HAPPENED! The other driver, his grandson and I did met for lunch, but we were probably a mile +/- from the nearest movie theater. Fact is, we parked our semi's behind the Home Town Buffet on Gallatin Rd and walked in to gorge ourselves on crappy buffet food. Hey, his grandson chose HTB because they have all-you-can-drink chocolate milk. We couldn't devastate the kid by telling him no. Anyway, we were there for about an hour, then returned to our office. Fast forward to this Monday. Out of the blue, our boss called us into the office and confronted us with this information. We couldn't think of any reason why someone would create such a lie, so needless to say, we were floored by these accusations. Both of us thought we were quite friendly with all of our co-workers, and never expected anything like this to happen. I paid for the meal with my credit/debit card, and have the bank information to prove where we were at the time we were supposedly at a movie theater. I'm fairly confident the bank info is sufficient enough to please my boss, but it's still a disaster as far as his boss (in Memphis) is concerned. Like many companies out there, the crappy economy has us struggling to get 40 hours a week. My boss has been well aware of this for quite some time and has not had an issue with us drivers taking our time getting back in the afternoon. His boss on the other hand, not so understanding, as we recently found out. His boss now wants to know why we were spending an hour+ at lunch. The whole movie things is nearly a moot point at this time. Our boss seems to be back peddling a bit at this point, possibly in fear of finding himself in hot water for allowing us to get 40 hours even though the workload hasn't been sufficient enough to account for the hours. For the first time in my life, I think I'm about to receive a "letter of reprimand". Not only does it piss me off that I'm in this position in the first place, it pisses me off even more to know I'm possibly going to receive a letter of reprimand for doing something that my boss was well aware of for quite some time, and lead us to believe that the company was just being nice by allowing us to get our full 40 hours. And I'm EVEN MORE pissed that all of this is happening because some douchebag co-worker felt the need to send an anonymous email filled with lies. And EVEN MORE pissed that our boss does not have our back. We don't even deal with his boss, and I don't think I've ever even met the woman in the 7 years I've been employeed with the company. I know it may sound silly, but this ordeal has put a huge amount of unnecessary stress on me throughout this week, and I'm sure it will only continue to get worse, as the situation doesn't seem to be going away. I have always taken great pride in my work, and have always been the "company man" kinda guy. I've had ZERO disciplinary issues in the 7 years I've been with the company so I wouldn't think I'll be fired, but because of an anonymous lie from a co-woker, it has caused serious stress in my life. Botton line is, I want to know if I have a chance of finding out who this person is. I would like a copy of the email, email address, and even the IP address. /Rant Over!

Oh well.

I just noticed that I somehow misspelled militia several times in my original post.
-
Obviously you must have missed the arrests and convictions of several members of several militia groups like West Virginia Mountaineer Militia, Oklahoma Constitutional Militia, Arizona Viper Militia, North American Militia, Washington State Militia, San Joaquin County Militia, Georgia Republic Militia, Twin Cities Free Militia, etc............ The list goes on and on. Almost all, if not all, of those arrests and convictions were involving illegal weapons and explosivies. There have been numerous arrests and conviction of militia members who had plans to blow up federal buildings, IRS buildings, and I even recall several militia members being arrested in the mid-late 90's for plans to attack Fort Hood - A F'ING US MILITARY BASE! Not only that, but they planned on carrying out this attack during the Freedom Festival, with tens of thousands in attendance, many of them being our own servicemen/women. IIRC, they were arrested within a day or two (maybe the same day of the planned attack) while camping just miles from Fort Hood. So, please excuse me for being just a little suspicious of many militia groups. As I said in my original post, "I am not against militias". But I do think that anyone who has intentions of joining such a group should do plenty of research before getting involved with a particular group.

I love mine. I cracked the screen and had to deal with a loaner phone for a few days. It Sucked! I really like the fact that the Pre continues to get better and better with each update.
-
For anyone who cares, keep an eye out for the Palm Pre update for next month. The update will include the ability to record video, and will also include Adobe Flash Player.
-
Yeah, I didn't intend to convey otherwise. I wish I had the money to own just one.
-
I carry because I feel obligated to protect my family and myself. If I happen to encounter a situation where I am willing and able to protect another, so be it.

Malitias are a great idea, unfortunately many of them allow complete morons to join their ranks. If you can find one that doesn't participate in illegal activity in one form or another, count your lucky stars. Most have good intentions, but all too often lack the ability to conduct business without breaking some sort of law(s). Many of these malitias can own as many firearms as their hearts desire (even full-autos), so I'm always amazed at the news stories about those who illegally posses full-autos, explosives, etc. I am not oppsed to malitias, and may even consider joining one if I knew they were law-abiding. I have no desire to go to prision for being associated with someone or a group who can't operate in a legal manner.

You can find aftermarket .400 Corbon conversion barrels for most .45's. I'm retty sure I remember seeing a Les Baer .400 at one time.
